Northwestern Folds to Hamas Supporters, Will Provide Scholarships to 'Palestinians' and Other Insanity

In one of the worst capitulations by a university so far, Northwestern bent the knee on Tuesday, offering a variety of concessions to the Hamas supporters who have taken over the campus. This is the same school that celebrated Black History Month with a BDSM workshop so their penchant for radicalism isn't that surprising, I suppose.

In the face of illegal "encampments" and violence, the Northwestern administrators put out a jubilant statement announcing that scholarships will be provided for "Palestinians" along with a building set aside for Muslim students.

Most notable among those concessions is a promise to offer full-ride scholarships to Palestinian students and guaranteed faculty jobs for Palestinian academics.
“The University will support visiting Palestinian faculty and students at risk (funding two faculty per year for two years; and providing full cost of attendance for five Palestinian undergraduates to attend Northwestern for the duration of their undergraduate careers),” the document reads. “The University commits to fundraise to sustain this program beyond this current commitment.”

The school will also "support" (i.e. financially) any "Palestinian faculty" that come to the school. That's not the end of it, though. Northwestern further committed to allowing the criminal radicals who staged these "protests" to have a say over the school's investments.

Northwestern will also provide a “house for MENA/Muslim students” and will “advise employers not to rescind job offers for students engaging in speech protected by the First Amendment.”
Other concessions in the deal Schill and the rest of Northwestern’s leadership struck with the encampment occupants — one of whom assaulted a student journalist attempting to take video — include student oversight of the university’s partnerships with suppliers and the investment of its endowment.

I hate to break it to Northwestern, but as pathetic as this capitulation is, it's not going to be enough. When you bargain with terrorists, the terrorists inevitably demand more. By bending the knee with these concessions, school officials have done nothing but validate the tactics used against them. The pro-Hamas fanatics will only be emboldened, and they will continue to lash out.

Perhaps that's for the best. Maybe these universities, most of which have become havens for far-left radicalism, need to learn the hard way what happens when you keep giving in to terrorists. That includes being sued by Jewish (and other) students who have been denied the facilities and quality of education they paid for. This needs to be as painful as possible for these universities. Make them feel it.
