Multimillionaire Donor Tells Obama: Stop with all the Class Warfare Already!
WASHINGTON WIZARDS OWNER DECRIES CLASS RIFT CREATED BY OBAMA’S RHETORIC
Ted Leonsis may not be a member of the elite Obama Revolutionary Guard, but he’s not a third-stringer rank-and-file Democrat, either. Leonsis is a highly successful, self-made, multimillionaire businessman — a perfect demographic example of the “enemy” that Barack Obama warns about on Hispanic radio stations and rails against in calculated teleprompter speeches, as he continues his onslaught against the “Haves” — Operation Divide America — which is the key component of his reelection strategy.
Ted Leonsis is also a major contributor to the Democratic Party — and to Barack Obama himself. The owner of the Washington Wizards is fed up with being cast as a “bad guy in a black hat,” and he is fed up with Obama’s slash-and-burn class-warfare bull crap as well; he is finally saying so in no uncertain terms:
“I say this as I read all of the rhetoric about class warfare, the rift that is being created between economic middle and lower classes and as the president said, “those millionaires and billionaires.”
The real rift in philosophy though is do you want the government to create jobs and stimulate the economy, or do you want America’s small business to be the engine of growth?
Economic success has somehow become the new boogie man; some in the Democratic Party are now casting about for enemies and business leaders and anyone who has achieved success in terms of rank or fiscal success is being cast as a bad guy in a black hat. This is counter to the American Dream and is really turning off so many people that love American and basically carry our country on their backs by paying taxes and by employing people and creating GDP.
This is a bad move all designed by some pollster who said this is the way to get votes during the re-election. It should be stopped. We should be healing and creating teams; NOT dividing and pitting people against one another.”
While Leonsis’s awakening seems naively late for a guy who has given heavily to the likes of Al Franken, John Sarbanes and the Big O himself, he does seem to have finally figured out that the philosophical differences of the central-planner-mentality Democrats is in direct conflict with the free-market advocates of the Republican Party; the market-driven mindset that allowed Ted Leonsis to become the successful man that he is today. Late to the bandwagon or not, Leonsis is frank in his criticism of Captain Class Warfare:
“I voted for our president. I have maxed out on personal donations to his re-election campaign. I forgot his campaign wants to raise $1 billion. That is a lot of money–money–money–money! Money still talks. It blows my mind when I am asked for money as a donation at the same time I am getting blasted as being a bad guy!“ At least you finally woke up and smelled the hypocritical coffee, Ted; welcome to the club.
The idea that Leonsis is now shocked that he and his “rich-people” pals have been demonized all along by the class warfare Democrats is satisfyingly amusing; how could such a smart guy take so long to realize that the very party he has supported for so many years is vehemently opposed to the very free-market principles that have allowed him to create his fortune in the first place? The mind of a Democrat is a curious thing indeed.
I guess we won’t be seeing “Barack Obama Night” at any Wizards games this season.
