Thank you. We turned off the cable last week. The product seems too expensive at any price. We no longer get any direct exposure to the MSM, either in print form or as video. Reminds me of an old anti-cigarette PSA: we’ve joined the unhooked generation.

Wow. Cruz just knocked it out of the park. He is an excellent communicator and will be a great Senator.

  • runner12

Kowalski- Cruz was followed by Artur Davis. Another excellent speech by a good communicator. He hit Obama hard, but in a witty and matter-of-fact way. Very good.

Agreed. That was the first time I’ve seen him speak, and I was very impressed. I thought Artur Davis and Gov. Kasich were very good, too.

I have to say…Arthur Davis is an amazing speaker. I’m not sure how authentic he is…but he sounds pretty authentic. I think he would be a good candidate for senate, congress, or something. This guy is amazing. What do you think?

Charlie Crist—just another white guy in the Democrat party.
Arthur Davis—a new African-American man in the Republican party.

Who is the “white bigot” party now? Minorities are figuring out the Democrat trick…the Democrat’s party’s days are numbered….they will LOSE THIS NOVEMBER 2012!

Nikki Haley is awesome! I’m so glad she’s South Carolina’s governor!

Ann Romney is speaking very well. She’s fulfilling her mission so far: showing that Mitt Romney is not this terrible, evil, non-understanding Americans that liberals want to portray him as. ANN ROMNEY-FIRST LADY 2012!

  • eugenio

Ann Romney is knocking it out of the park. I had no idea she was such a polished, charismatic speaker.

  • runner12

Ann Romney was a little giggly, which at times was a little awkward. But overall she came across as personable, sincere, and like an average American wife and mother (she showed a bit of toughness, too ). She did not appear elitist or out-of-touch to me at all.

I like the determined scowl on Christie’s face.

  • runner12

What strikes me when I hear these speeches is how many of the GOP speakers are either children or grandchildren of hard-working immigrants. Many of whom worked hard to build businesses or put themselves through school. They are not of the so-called 1% that the Democrats would like you to think they are. They are a part of what has made this country great.

The irony is that I would venture to bet that most of the DNC speakers come from a more privileged background than most of the GOP speakers.

All in all, that was a really good opening to the RNC.

  • runner12

Christie’s speech was great. I wish he was more conservative in several areas, but he is a great communicator. I respect him for being who he is and for having the courage to be blunt and truthful when needed.

Who cares what Paul Krugman thinks…

I only hope that the Chick-Fil-A support day will look mild in comparison.

    That’s a 5^.

    snark.

  • gracie

I am not a Christie fan yet he was very interesting; I realy get his appeal now.. The problem for me was the 17 minutes it took him to mention Romney. Honestly it seemed like a try-out for the next cycle. I wanted to hear much more about why Romney would be better than Obama and yes, his wit directed at Obama. I needed that so it seemed unfinished to me.

Al Gore: “I fear Romney-Ryan…” Anything that gives the heebie jeebies to Al Gore, I’m all for.

    Kowalski, that’s a feature, not a bug.

Or were you engaging in snark?

I noticed that too, runner. About the immigrants, that is.

Had no clue about Ann Romney’s background. Britt Hume said he thought her speech was the “single most effective political speech I’ve ever heard given by a political wife.” As for me, it is always refreshing to hear a woman speak about how much she loves her husband and her family. I appreciated that she sounded a little nervous but pushed through to give a great speech.

Yes! I am SO ready for a first LADY. Someone who respects her position and place in history. Someone young people can respect and look up to! I also think however priviledged she is today she did have the early years when there was uncertainty. After all, he gave away his inheritance and made his money on his own. Primarily I think she has enough empathy to place herself into other’s shoes.so that she can understand the frustrations people are experiencing. I am also glad she is proud of her husband’s success! As conservatives this is what we believe in!

Was glad to see Santorum bring out the defibrillators. No one connects with a crowd like an 11 life path. They have infnite charisma and natural abilities to woo and connect with large audiences. Obama, Reagan, Clinton, Gore, JFK, McCain, Paul Ryan all 11s. But when things don’t go their way they get insecure and start losing it. Ex: Obama right now. They are also extremely emotional and thus often let their emotions control them and their actions, not logic which is why many, not all tend to be more liberal. You need not be an 11 to give a good speech, but these are the people that bring tears to peoples eyes and cause them to erupt with joy on the inside and often go down in history as inspirational figures throughout the world.

I too question his authenticity, but thought his speech was one of the best of the night partly because he focused on how the recession and the inability of Obama to rationally deal with it has affected average working people. I found that portion of our message a little neglected and we need to pick up those who are more likely to have voted for Obama in 2008 because they thought he was on their side.
