I agree; Chicago and the East St. Louis area will stay blue, but I think turnout there will be lower because of the economy and alienation of some supporters disappointed in Obama. Conversely, turnout will be higher elsewhere because of the economy. There is no reason for many Democrats to vote for Obama, but there are lots of reasons for Republicans to turn out and independents to switch sides. Obama is a well known private sector job killer and that includes union jobs.
