Book: Mafia Hit-Man & Teamster Boss Helped Joe Biden Become U.S. Senator

The book I Heard You Paint Houses came out in 2003, so it’s been gathering some dust on a number of bookshelves around the country for quite some time.

The book’s title, according to Amazon, comes from the first words infamous Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa ever spoke to Frank “the Irishman” Sheeran. To paint a house is to kill a man. The paint is the blood that splatters on the walls and floors.

The book is essentially the deathbed biography of one-time Delaware Teamster boss and mob hit-man Frank Sheeran and truly is a fascinating read.


[Spoiler alert: Before he died, Sheeran claimed to be the one who killed his friend and mentor, Jimmy Hoffa--whose body was apparently later cremated.]

Despite the book purportedly being made into a movie called The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro , Al Pacino , Joe Pesci, as well as directed by Martin Scorcese, it has not been released yet.

While the book has been out for some time, it wasn’t until last night, during Joe Biden’s prime time speech, that I was reminded of some of the book’s contents, most notably this piece that appeared in the Orange County Register a few weeks ago:

One additional item relates to Biden’s integrity. In the fascinating biography of Teamsters and Mafia hit-man Frank Sheeran, “I Heard You Paint Houses,” the lifelong thug describes a favor he performed while he was president of Teamsters Local 326 in Wilmington, Delaware.

In 1972 Sheeran received a visit from “a very prominent lawyer” he knew who was “very big in the Democratic Party” in Delaware. The November general election was approaching, and the race for the U.S. Senate seat held by a Republican was expected to be close. The lawyer wanted help in preventing the distribution of a paid Republican political ad – an insert in the Delaware-wide newspapers – that would run for a week and expose the campaign misrepresentations by the Democratic challenger. Sheeran promised the operative that he “would hire some people and put them on the picket line.” He added, “People nobody would mess with.”

The picket line went up, the papers were not delivered all week, and, as Sheeran said, “The day after the election the informational picket line came down, and the newspaper went back to normal and Delaware had a new United States Senator.” His name was Joe Biden. Thereafter, said admitted extortionist, thief and murderer Sheeran, of Biden, “You could reach out for him, and he would listen.” [Emphasis added.]

So, there you have it. The Vice President of the United States got his job as U.S. Senator with help from a Mafia hit-man and Delaware Teamster boss. No wonder Barack Obama keeps Joe as his running mate.

As an aside, Frank Sheeran’s old Teamster local is still making news today:

The vice president and business agent of a Teamsters local was suspended last week for allegedly using union funds for personal expenses, according to union documents.

Michael S. Ciabattoni, 45, of Bear, also served as the Teamsters Local 326’s lobbyist in Dover and was the chairman of the union Local Action Committee. He was removed from those posts as well, according to a memo sent Monday to all members of the Delaware legislature and their staffs by Local 326 President John J. Ryan Sr.

Well, at least he didn’t kill anyone.

    The ever present constant in society is the criminally corrupt political elements which has become all too normal in society, ie; the truth, whom subverts, perverts, pollutes, and poisons the very civilized human society we must live in and be part of, which the people ultimately cannot control, and or eradicate.

    There will always be these elements who prop up and put into power the Joe Bidens, Obama’s, Kennedy’s of the world. Now the Kennedy’s / Joseph Kennedy Sr., who were established into political power via organized crime muscle and money is the classic American political crime story, which was transformed into Camelot. Unfortunately, specifically JFK and RFK, who were more virtuous than their father, fought against those very criminally corrupt elements that put them into power in the first place, after which when they got into power fought against thus those very elements, who then took them out of power, their way..

    That’s why Joe Biden is still around, he never became virtuous, but just stayed their political puppet stooge.

    I was a teamster for 5 years. Believe me when I tell you, they are NOT for the employees. They are in the pocket of management and politicians. When I needed them when I was being sexually harassed (and threatened) by a management boss, they did NOTHING. I eventually had to leave my job because no one–NO ONE would listen to me. In addition, other teamsters would urge me to go to the union to complain, but when it came time for them to back me up (because many of them had also been threatened and sexually harassed by this same man), they suddenly became deaf and mute. So much for the “brotherhood.” The unions should be abolished–especially the teachers’ unions and federations, but also those who are in bed with politicians.

    You are absolutely correct. I saw a very interesting special on the mafia not too long ago and it pretty much pointed to both Kennedy’s being whacked by the mob. I believe it was a mob/mafia capo somewhere in Arizona or someplace like that who called the hit on John. I don’t remember who it was who approved the hit on Robert. These guys (Kennedys) are typical of the kind of people who populate the dumbo party. They are, themselves, crooks, liars and thieves. Oblamer, on the other hand, is the worst because he HATES America. He is a marxist-commie, atheist, anti-American, closet muslim who wants nothing less than the total destruction of our country and way of life. Yeah! Let’s put him in for another 4 years!! God help us all…

    I only have one question? Why is this a surprise now? Joe Biden is a plagiarizing, steal not good for nothing. his connection to the Mob should not surprise anyone but should have deterred anyone from voting for him. Of course with the Mob in play and a stacked election box how could he lose. The Mob’s problem is that Biden opens his mouth and shows what an Idiot he really is. I can’t wait to see him in the VP debates. unless his handlers are really good if Ryan pushes his buttons he will fly off into left field big time. I believe Ryan’s performance in the debates is much more important than Romney’s with Obama.

    I was a reporter in Philadelphia during those years, and Sheeran’s name — and at least some of his activities — were well known to journalists. Finding enough cororboration, confirmation, whatever you want to call it, to write the story was something else altogether. Philly was, and probably still is, a union town, and several of the Teamsters locals at the time were understood to be closely tied to the mob. I read the book a couple of years ago. From what I remember, I saw nothing in there to seriously refute — including his explanation of how, and why, Hoffa was killed. It was, to say the least, an interesting time.
