Libya and Egypt Are The Price of Ineptocracy

The events of yesterday, more than any scholarly paper, underscore the craven cowardice and geopolitical ineptness of the Obama Administration.

Far from being a surprise, the sacking of two of our embassies and the slaughter of our ambassador in Libya can be rightly described as the logical outcome of the feckless fascination this administration has had with any group of armed thugs who lay claim to being freedom fighters. In short, what happened was a feature of American foreign policy under Obama, not a bug.

What Obama has tried to do is create an aura of action and progress by glomming onto breaking events and trying to gain credit from them. There is no rhyme or reason in our foreign policy that cannot be adequately contained in the next State Department press release or by inserting Obama, in Kim Il-Sung fashion, into the lives of previous presidents.

When Barack Obama tacitly consented to the overthrow of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak many thought this was a good idea. Mubarak, after all, represented the last generation of Arab strong men in the Egyptian tradition. His regime was repressive and the time was deemed right to nudge him out of the way before he could pass on the presidency to his son. Troubling, for a lot of us, was the fact that on one had a clue as to who would take over. But what was known was that the only viable political opposition was the terror connected Muslim Brotherhood. A group that is now feted at the White House.

The same situation applied in Libya. An aging and harmless dictator was ousted after a bloody and protracted civil war. This time the US actively aided the rebels despite numerous press reports that jihadis were coming home from around the globe to fight for the rebels. Our only stake in that fight that delivered the Libyan government to al-Qaeda and Libyan oil to Russian and France was apparently the thought that offing Qaddafi would be really neat and build Obama’s tough guy cred.

In neither case was the future of the Mediterranean rim a consideration, Obama and his ineptocrats were too busy basking in the soft afterglow of Arab Spring to worry about long term effects.

So today we mourn our dead. We look in shame on our burned embassies. And we remember that the administration that set this deadly sequence of events into motion wants four more years.

The US is talking about Arab Spring and Democracy selectively for a few countries whereas it supports the despotic rule of the Al Saud family in Saudi Arabia and don’t forget they also supported so many despots during the cold war – Saddam being one among them. Looks like the rules change for different countries. LOL

Obama’s personal agenda is to make America Domestically and internationally impotent as a superpower.. Intentionally internally destroying America’s own energy supply and production, ensuring our dependence on foreign Gas and Oil- ie; forever sending America tax payer money to OPEC, aiding the arab islamic muslim cause of jihad conquest of the western civilized Democratic world by giving these radical islamists- Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, PLA, Hez Bollah, even Iran etc., billions in US tax payer dollars, as well as US militarily equipment, training, and intelligence.

An addition, Sec of State Hillary Clinton, either hasn’t a clue, or worse, which obviously is the case, she helped to create this current tragic middle east fiasco to come about, because what she has been doing for that past 3 and a half years, has been to side with, make, shape, and ferment US foreign policy as one of pro-arab islamic muslim / anti-Israeli.. ie; Liberal progressive anti-Americanism. On top of which, Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Sec. and personal advisor is Huma Abedin, whose family- ie; mother, father, etc, are directly connected to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, has been instrumental in this strategy to change US foreign policy against Israel, towards the arab islamic muslims / radical islamists.

The US Embassy attack in Egypt, along with the radical islamist attacks against our Consulate in Libya, which resulted in the death of our US Ambassador and 3 other diplomats, is a clear signal that Jimmy Carter’s incompetent inept leadership disaster has come full circle.

But it’s even worse than Jimmy Carter’s inept incompetent leadership is Obama’s anti-American agenda, aka, his intent- Caroline Glick: “Since taking office, Obama has made clear that he views the US as an imperialist power on the world stage. As a result, the overarching goal of Obama’s foreign policy has been to end US global hegemony.” unquote

Both Obama and Hillary are the worst US political officials ever in US history !

The former dictators in MENA kept the radical Islamists and feuding tribes in check through less than democratic means, that is sure. But they did keep them in check. Liberals took the “high road” in supporting their overthrow under the mantle “freedom at any cost”, ignoring the possibility of recent events and the takeover of MENA by the radicals.

Obama’s “lead from behind” foreign policy is really no policy at all, but just reacting to events as they occur. And we can make one of two conclusions; either he and his team really are completely feckless, or they wanted this outcome all along. Time will tell.

You are correct Madhav, and furthermore, it is the Saudi family who is directly responsible for most of the unrest and hatred in the middle east by their nearly 200 years of funding the radical Wahabist sect. They have preached hatred and promoted violence since the 1800′s

Under Nixon we gained Jordan, Under Carter we gained Egypt but lost Persia. Under Bush One we lost Iraq but regained Kuwait. Under Bush two we sorta regained Iraq. Undo Bozo Obama we have lost everything else.

I find it a huge disservice that diplomat’s deaths are repeated a zillion times in the media with ZERO mention of the brave people who gave their lives defending these diplomats. I read in initial reports that 2 Marines were killed, yet the person who gets glorified as a “couragious hero” is Stevens, who in fact was working with the rebels to overthrow the government.

As of yesterday the entire Arab World now sees us for what we are: The Weak Horse.
Represented by a weak, dithering ‘non-fighter’ who deserves zero respect and will get even less, if that is possible.
How many more reasons are there, or will there be shortly, for America to vote out this poseur? My guess would be safe in saying there will not be fewer reasons.
Even though my mother passed early on 9/12/2012 and I was in despair over it, I heard of these occurances, and was rendered utterly numb in comparison.
I knew Her time was coming, and it was a blessing.
Another Time IS Coming, but No Blessing is/was apparent. Just this Schmuck of a “Leader” blathering inanities.
The Date wasn’t a ‘giveaway’ for The Smartest Guy In The Room?
He’s still playing Chicken with America and it’s people. We don’t want to play, but Himself does not care.
The Price of The Game just got much, much higher . The Hyenas smell victims and are coming….to a place near us.
Can you spell ” Domestic Election Disruption” ?

CNN created Arab Spring by framing it as they wanted it to be. They abandoned all reporting on what 82 mil Egyptians thought of the protests and rebellion. Anderson Cooper wrote a poem to the protestrers as if they were freedom fighters upon whom he projected many high speculations not facts. Barack Obama quickly joined the Facebook protest bandwagon.

He did not know who they were anymore than did Cooper. A military junta set itself up above the law and later the elections that followed installed a Brotherhoood president with regresive baggage. In other words things may have been more solid under Mubarak and easier for US to influence on human rights.

Under Mubarak US had some weight. Copts, women and tourist were protected. Not so under the junta or Arab Spring Brotherhood. Camp David accords are in play and not at all a given. There is more instabilty not less with Arab Spring in Egypt.
Paul Ryan made a point yesterday on US foreign policy–we embrace adversaries and our allies do not know where they stand.

  • celador2

I agree with the assertion that the reason Obama joined in the overthrow of Qaddafi was to look like a tough guy. He has a lot to prove to himself unfortunately for us all.

At the risk setting off the hateful and ignorant squad lets look at who predicted these events 10-12 years ago. Dr.Ron Paul that’s who.
Love him, hate him, worship him, or loathe him, it doesn’t really matter where you stand Dr. Ron Paul has spent decades attempting to inform and warn Americans of the dangers to America’s prosperity. From the 900+/- foreign military bases and the expenses thereof, to trying to BUY friends, to the FEDS monetary policies and the devaluation of U.S. Currency, to Fiat money, to Foreign Interventionist Policies and more.
Ignore the Labels and research his warnings/teachings IF you dare to see the future of America with enough time to influence the final outcome. If NOT, go back to quoting your Political Party’s Talking Points and pretend to be shocked as events unfold leaving you actively displaying your willful ignorance.

actually I prefer to go back to booting idiot Paultards off the site.

  • celador2

None of this Arab Spring is our fight. Its meddlin’.

  • justavgguy

I’m glad I am not the only one who noted the connection between Hillery’s staffer Abedin and the events in North Africa. Is it possible she (Abedin) had anything to do with the mild response from Barry and Hillary? Does anyone expect the media to notice this connection?

  • celador2

Being a sugar daddy with PC UN requirements and a checkbook is a form of imperialism. He can not buy friends but he can set up puppets in these chaotic civil wars he backs. And, he is meddlin’ without ococupation troops and has no idea how the people in Egypt and Libya really want to be governed. No doubt not by foreigners but themselves.
Like with small business and jumping the economy, Obama should get out of the way,

Much of the support of fundamentalist Sunni Islam comes from Saudi private citizens who are fundamentalists. The monarchy controls them by appeasing them, allowing them lots of domestic influence (but not too much) and letting them use their money to spread their religious beliefs. If we lean on the monarchy to limit them, they will take the country over. Osama basically took seriously what he learned in sunday (friday) school, rather than being hypocritical about his faith like the more moderate monarchy.

We have to keep the dictators in power without using American forces overtly, because occupation is just too expensive; we found that out in Iraq and the Soviets in Afghanistan. The Saudis will help us here. We had a nasty but anti-Iranian dictator in Iraq, and replaced him with an unstable and pro-Iran government — geopolitically a big mistake. We also did not solidify an anti-Iran regime in Afghanistan, so now we have an unstable regime that does not share our hostility to Iran.

Invading any of these countries is no problem. Occupying them definitely is. So we should have left Saddam undisturbed, supported Khdafi (sp.), propped up Hosni (but how?), and backed Bashir. Also invaded Iran to put the Shah back in power (the power he had through a CIA coup) and probably backed Britain and France in 1956 (Ike was a patsy.)

If you prop dictators up and they fall anyway, what then? Invasion is not really an option.

the mind boggles. I just don’t know where to start though spellcheck would be a worthy effort.
