Barack Obama: A Profile In Asshattery

When two of our diplomatic missions were sacked on September 11, the Obama Administration was exposed for the cretinous rabble that it is. We now know there was 48 hours warning of the attacks. We now know the situation in Benghazi was so dire that one diplomat there told friend in an online forum the he hoped he didn’t die that night. A great deal of evidence indicates that the USMC security force in Cairo did not have loaded weapons… at present the Administration is studiously denying that the Ambassador ordered the Marines to not carry ammunition, not that they didn’t have it. We know our Ambassador went to the tinderbox that was Benghazi without a security detail.

This is not mere incompetence, this is a callous disregard for our embassies and their personnel. It is, however, in keeping with nominating as ambassador to Iraq a man whose most notable achievement was getting a blow job on the embassy roof, while sleeping with a female (thank heaven for small favors) Wall Street Journal reporter, as his wife waited at home.

But this administration is nothing if not imaginative.

Before the Cairo embassy was sacked the staff there sent out a series of tweets, and made statements, that denounced a private citizen in the United States for exercising his First Amendment rights. Now the administration has decided that is can successfully deflect all attention from its own epic blunders and blame everything on a film that wasn’t even made. Today White House Spokesmunckin Jay Carney said the attacks were not even about the US they were about the film.

Shamefully, they have enlisted Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey to call a Florida pastor, Terry Jones, someone who wasn’t even involved the “film”, and asked him to stop his well founded, if over the top, criticisms of Islam.

Now we hear they have approached YouTube and asked them if the video violates YouTube’s term of service. I’m sure the question was followed by “this is a nice little website you got here, it would be a shame if the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division started looking at it.” Already Obama’s cronies who run Google have blocked the video from being accessed in the Arab world.

At any other time in American history we would find it is incredible that we have a president and his secretary of state denounce a private citizen for their speech. It is would be stunning that an administration would utterly disavow any responsibility for virutally anything.

The only answer anyone needed give on the faux controversy surrounding that film or any of Pastor Terry Jones’ activities is that we live in a free society and the government — at least for the time being — doesn’t have the authority to decide what speech is permissible.

Streiff-I missed that part of the Iraqi Ambassador nominee. You’re coming up with great new words to describe Obama and his admin.
Can you answer this for me? I know I came to RS the day after the election in 2008 and it was here that I read that one of the first things O was going to do was stop the strategic missile defense systems that were almost ready to go in Poland and other countries. Am I correct?

I knew this man would be a disaster but he’s exceeded even my worse expectations.
I do not believe he will be reelected but I didn’t think that the people in the middle of the country would vote for him in 2008.
    Thank you, Carol

Great job of expressing what so many of us are feeling and thinking except your choice of wording is so much more appropriate than anything I would be able to write. Am so angry am spitting nails at this point.

I must ask what about Romney’s response has been weak? With all the criticism he’s getting, it seems like he’s the President right now, and Obama is just a spectator.
Romney is the only one who has acted presidential about these incidents. His campaign isn’t perfect, but he’s officially put foreign policy and national security, two areas where Obama had managed to fool the Americab people into believing he’s better, into play and put Obama on defense.

Is everyone noticing how Obama administration never takes responsibility for anything and instead chooses to blame others?

The Middle East in turmoil, a U.S. Ambassador and other Americans dead? Not our fault. It is the fault of a bad film made by a U.S. citizen and You Tube. Intel? What Intel, oh you mean the one warning us of attacks. Never heard of it.

    Over 8% unemployment? Bush’s fault.
    Horrible economy? Bush’s fault.
Debt Crisis? Bush’s fault…no matter that I (Obama) have made GW look like a miser.
Gas prices through the roof? Still Bush’s fault (Not due to my unwillingness to go ahead with the Keystone pipeline).

I could go on and on. For the sake of the country, O and his troop of liars and spin doctors have to go in November.

Kowalski: Has anyone read the Fox News article questioning if the film was a hoax? Apparently there are many inconsistencies with the actors ( and I use that term loosely) stating that their lines were dubbed over to say different things than the script. The man thought to have made the film may have a white-collar criminal record.

All of this is just plain odd. The Obama administration is beclowning themselves with their blame of this “film.”

“Yet you read the NY Times and story after story is about that stupid video as if it is the genesis of all this, you’d have to be a NY Times reporter to believe something that stupid” – Tucker Carlson – what he said

43 Presidents came and went, some were bad, some good, some ok, some great. Not a one of them ever presided over a downgrade of the US debt; the 44th has now presided over two.

Was Chairman Dempsey taking an order from the Commander-in-Chief to silence this guy? This is the question that I would like to know. Did Obama order Dempsey to call this guy to shut him up? Clinton could not have given the order. Who gave the order?

and in a breakdown phase of a persona that has been carefully cultivated and maintained, when the individual’s fortress has been breached by personal or organizational ‘enemies’ and is about to be proven a facade, watch out! If one too many chinks in the fantasy are exposed, the narcissist may find it existentially intolerable. These folks can plan brilliantly to act out (overtly or covertly) when presented with such an existential threat. Any person who is deemed part of perceived destruction will be targeted, even a previously valued institution can be attacked or wrecked with disregard to consequences.

It’s not too rare a syndrome in the halls of power, but in over the trajectory of a political career it can be fascinating to follow….

The genesis of it all is the same as it was during the Clinton administration in Somalia: our president has proven us, once again, to be a paper tiger.

  • Jack_Savage

You are a liar. And a bad one to boot.

  • Melody Warbington

Wow. I’m more astounded over the McGurk stuff. No idea how I missed that. As much as I thought I was in the know about what goes on with the folks on the other side, I realize I don’t know half as much as I thought. How is it this stuff is suppressed?

As for Obama, I really don’t know why anyone is surprised at his blatant disregard for the lives of our citizens. After all, he has a voting record that proves how little he values life.

  • CarolT

Melody- I missed that too, today is the first time I have heard about it. Is McGurk our Iraqi ambassador? Carol

  • fightnright

now that’s economy of thought. The things you learn when listening to an authentic genius; it’s a treat to listen to him at the end of each day.

Yes, God bless Dr. Krauthammer. Almost ironic that a such a U.S. patriot actually spent a good portion of his early life in Canada. I try not to ever miss Bret Baier’s panel discussions, and Charles is my favorite.

  • streiff

    mmm, you forgot “take responsibility.”

  • hellhathnofury

Oops. fat-thumbed the return. I continue. “Peck describes a form of malignant narcissism, which he calls “evil” with symptoms of 1. consistent scapegoating, 2. excessive intolerance to criticism (thin-skinned) 3. Pronounced concern with self-image of respectability, contributing to pretensiousness and denial of hateful feelings or vengeful motives, and 4. Lies told to preserve the self-image and increased likelihood fo mild schizophrenic-like disturbance of thinking at times of stress.
Try to fit all of our last 3 presidents to this description. One fits like a glove. Read the book. Warn your friends.

  • Viet71

Just watched part of the “Innocence of Muslims” on YouTube. Pretty funny. Bad acting and bad script. Mohammad comes off as a likable dufus. The movies utterly mocks Islam as a religion.

Guess the radical Islamists have no humor. Guess Hillary Clinton and Barry failed to anticipate that.

  • streiff

I think so. The government should have no opinion at all on whether speech by private citizens is reprehensible or laudable.

  • http://www.lvjmusic.com lvjohnston

Looks like the media clowns have an internship program as well…
    Mr. Romney’s response seemed weak?
    FAIL!

  • http://www.lvjmusic.com lvjohnston

So should I ask if someone we all know and detest is displaying them?

  • rightlane1111

Well written and agree with comments. However…”we live in a free society and the government – at least for the time being – doesn’t have the authority to decide what speech is permissible”. Sounds like our Constitution…but I am very, very leery of what the government can and cannot do. Case in point…for “existing” one must pay for healthcare whether they want it or not. Well, our government wrote it wrong and what did CJ Roberts do…re-write it to make it somehow conform with the Commerce Clause. They did it…for our existence on the planet. See what I mean, Streiff.

Unless and until we get another president that will appoint true Conservatives (I don’t know whether Roberts is some type of mole of not)…to the bench…we are sunk. Unless we get more fiscally minded representatives in the Senate and House…we are sunk. Unless we get a president who won’t take any guff…we are sunk.

Look…I don’t want WWIII…I just want a little bit of Reagan back. When Gaddafi acted up…we shut him up and that was the end of the assault on American soldiers. This is on sovereign ground…and we are apologizing to Muslims for killing our people.

I also might add that when Obama FINALLY spoke about this he said that the Libyans had carried our ambassador to the hospital. How about…raped and then dragged through the streets.

  • proudmarinemom

Obama tried to lay the blame for the attacks on our consulate and embassies upon some obscure foreign-born Coptic Christian who made a very, very silly Saturday Night Live-esque short film.

Then it started to look like some people weren’t buying it (other than Jan Crawford of CBS, Ari Shapiro of NPR, all the mental giants at NBC and ABC, most at CNN). No worries, that’s a deep enough bench to keep the narrative going for a while.

But then…Evidence began to emerge that the embassies and consulate were forewarned of the attacks. Hhhmmm. Shift the blame to Hillary Clinton. Yes, it’s all falling into place rather nicely. Undermine Clinton’s political ambitions, while covering his own scrawny behind. Show up at Andrews in a dark suit and look solemn for 15 minuites, jump on plane to next fundraiser with rappers.

And then… Obama placed a “blunt” phone call to Morsi in Egypt, purportedly telling him to crack down on those troublesome yutes in the streets outside our Embassy. Like magic, the crowd thinned. CNN cheerfully reported this morning that “life is returning to normal in Cairo” now that The Great Obama Has Spoken.

Here’s a question: If Obama has so much influence on Morsi, why did the attacks occur in the first place?

  • californiasquish

He’s a convicted criminal, and making the movie may have violated the terms of his parole. He was brought in by parole officers.

Paroled cons give up certain rights (e.g., gun-law rights in the case of felony convictions) but basically retain all First Amendment protections.

  • downstateray

    more than 48 hours it appears: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/israeli-foreign-ministry-officials-say-u-s-ignored-arab-wrath-1.465210 … … AND http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/15/world/meast/libya-diplomats-warning/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 … …

  • californiasquish

Right. I’m not suggesting his ‘film’ wasn’t protected speech. I was responding to AclinTX’s question about why he was brought in for questioning.

Posting his film online was a parole violation, hence, questioning.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

Then oh wait the attacks didn’t stop. Sudan told the US President to go take a flying leap and refused permission to have marines deployed to protect US Embassy employees so Barry went and skulked in a corner like a petulant child. Meanwhile back at the farm in Egypt, Morsi says he told Obama, he would protect US citizens if and only if Obama cracked down on the 1st Amendment rights of citizens. Could you imagine the response from Dick Cheney being given ultimatums by foreign leaders like that or refusing to allow marines to protect US citizens. A memo from tnfriend to all state department employees: Barack Obama and Hiliary Clinton’s bumbling are going to get you killed or as Moe Lane says “YOU CAN’T TRUST DEMOCRATS WITH NATIONAL SECURITY” .

  • AceInTX

It wasn’t a question…I know why he was brought in….or at least I know the DOJ’s lame reasons for bringing him in….and I don’t much care about the circumstances….it all amounts to one thing…it’s a stunt by the Feds to appease our enemies….and it’s crap
