    Lime in the Coconut

SNIP—–>You put the song on (if your drinking from a beer bottle, you’ll need at
least 2, depending on how big of shots you take) and everytime the song
says “lime in the coconut” you take a swig of whatever you’re drinking.
Overall, there’s about 28 shots in the game. Enjoy =)<—-/SNIP

So basically you put the song on repeat play and follow the rules.

I combine that with a new drinking game called "Popcorn Lung" meaning that when you hear a gasp from the audience caused by shortness of breath, you have to dunk a hot buttered popcorn in Captain Morgan's and eat it while liveblogging your outrage/agreement/other random thoughts.

  • Blue_State_Refugee

I was actually thinking of something more sublime like the Obama phrase or word of the evening….but listening for the audience gasp works for me :) .

  • westcoastpatriette

Romney’s doing great, so far. And you can tell Obama does not like being cornered and forced to answer questions. Hahahahaha.

  • kowalski

That’s because the Emperor has no clothes. All Obama can do is repeat his own propaganda.

  • Johnnyred

Obama’s pretty stuck on that $5T fiction. is the teleprompter in a loop?

  • http://www4.webng.com/rickbull/lostlucky/ rickbull

Poor Maobama. It sucks to have to defend an administration that is not helping our nation.

  • fightnright

::swallows antacid:: this is worse than sitting through the Hunger Games….

The O is hitting all the pre-programmed neuro-linguistic recruitment points early – “the 3 percent” “Donald Trump”…

  • Bennie Sprouse

Jim’s going to melt down – he’s not ready for Mr. Romney’s assertiveness – how could anyone watch this and not be impressed with him.

  • Bennie Sprouse

Seems like 0′s taking Romney’s points and trying to make them his own – but still sounds like he’s increasing spending

  • runner12

How is Romney doing? My reception is acting up and Apple doesn’t do flash player. arggh!

  • fightnright

I know how you feel, when I turned on the tube my first thought was ‘I can’t look’

  • Bennie Sprouse

just burned him on his “cut the deficit in half” – ooh – Mitt just handed something to the 0 – wait – what is it? hmm oh yeah – he just handed – his own ass!

  • Mani

What happened to the live chats?????? I miss them.

  • mrmacphisto

President Out Of Touch. Seems to me that Romney is hammering him. Romney the cold blooded killer came to play tonight.

  • fredflintlock

$700+ b of deficit from 2009 in budget that was never passed by Reid & congress. Obama signed that budget in March 2009, not Bush in 2008. The first budget that Reid never passed. Deficits were going down before new congress in Jan. 2007. Sick of hearing dems blame that one on republicans.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

Barack Obama: I sure wish that nice John McCain would show up for this debate

  • rabun1016

Has Jim Lehrer had a facelift? His eyes look big as silver dollars.

  • kowalski

Love how Obama just talked about the discount for corporate jets that was instituted under the Clinton Administration as something he would cut.

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

“It’s not moral for my generation to pass the burden on to the next generation”
    - raise taxes, cut spending, and economic growth.
    - Obamacare — Mr Polite apologizes for calling it that …. LOL
Romney hits it OUT OF THE PARK.

“President said he’d cut the deficit – he doubled it.”

OBAMA LIES: “2 wars on a credit card, … stuff not paid for…”
In Obama’s first 100 days, he ADDED $2 TRILLION in spending.
Medicare fraud…. LOL!?!? ‘Cut a trillion in discretionary’ more LOL. He shifted discretionary spending. $2.50 in each cut for $1 in taxes.

    Obama calls cut spending “unbalanced”.

“Your plan will kill 700,000 jobs.”

ADVANTAGE ROMNEY although Obama is getting away from his total lack of a plan to address the deficit. Obama’s claim to have a ‘plan’ is bogus. His budget is a farce that got zero votes. Obama is selling a ‘balanced approach’.

PS. Obama now going after a $4 billion tax issue?!? Now he is poormouthing schools, which are state and local funded – whataloon.
“30% cut in medicaid” huh?!?! he is babbling. Jim should cut him off.

    Romney doing a bangup job

  • westcoastpatriette

Wouldn’t ya just love to see the notes they are both jotting down?

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

“Neither President or I will change social security.”
“He’s cutting $716 billion in Medicare. … some 15% of hospitals wont take patients … 4 million people will LOSE MEDICARE ADVANTAGE”

“I will make sure Medicare and Social Security are there for them. choose current program or private plans. …. I’d just as soon not have govt tell me what healthcare to do …
for higher income people lower benefits. …Bill Clinton’s chief of staff.”

… Obama starts WHINING about Romney not outlining his plan.

I am in the age bracket that Obama wants to scaremonger to. I WANT A VOUCHER PLEASE! (and traditional medicare along side it.)

Obama: “mercy of private healthcare system” — oooh, the socialist mask comes up. He claims higher administrative costs, profit… typical socialist thinking. “Traditional medicare has decayed.” Total contradiction! If traditional medicare is more efficient , it wont decay!

Heck of a job, Mitt! A direct blow!

  • Repair_Man_Jack

Remember the GOP Primary when everyone complained about debates? That gauntlet set Mitt up for tonight.

  • lineholder

    Oh,yeah, he is!

Our “dependency” President got way, WAY too dependent on Mr. Teleprompter, didn’t he? Obama is really struggling to put coherent thoughts together.

  • fightnright

Obama the coddled undergrad and golden boy senator looks like he’s lost his magic ticket and is finally out of his comfort zone…. hey you’re not in Kansas anymore Barry – Romney *is* out to get you my little pretty – and your little dog too :)

  • http://www4.webng.com/rickbull/lostlucky/ rickbull

Dead-on, RMJ. Newt prepared Mitt well, don’t you think?

  • Ausonius

LiveChat: We miss you! Bill Maher twittered (according to my son) that MAObama might vote for Romney too after tonight!

  • vangoghssister

“mortgage lenders loaning money to those who prpbably should not have had them!? REALLY Mr. O?? Didn’t you just this week or last say you wanted to “encourage” lenders to do it again??? Hmmm???

  • vangoghssister

    tee hee hee

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

Romney on regulation. Supports regulation, but attacks Dodd-Frank in a great way – goes after it for TBTF for coddling Wall Street.

Obama blames ‘reckless behavior’ – loans that shouldnt be given.
Will Obama get dinged for his role in suing banks under CRA to force them to lend?

“We stepped in to have the toughest reforms”

Does any body think, there was too much oversight and regulation? OOPS, ANOTHER STRAWMAN!
Romney: “I wouldnt give 5 banks a blank check.” Mentions qualified mortgage issues.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

    Honey Badger don’t give a _ _ _ _!

  • Repair_Man_Jack

    See Rezko, Tony.

  • littlehouse18

Have to leave the room when Obama spews his lies. Mitt is doing well. Shows knowledge and competence.

  • littlehouse18

Folks, remember to give your reaction to the networks and any other media you can.

  • runner12

O my… Picked up feed on Daily Caller. Romney is destroying Obama. Clear and substantive. Obama is just spouting platitudes.

  • Johnnyred

aside- what’s that tiny thing on the Governor’s flag pin?

  • Mani

Mitt needs to stop toting his failed Mass. plan. His is not liked either and it makes conservatives nervous.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

I think the dog had better worry about BHO a little more. “Pardon me, do you have any Greyhound Poupon?”

  • Mani

I totally concur and posted the same!

  • lineholder

“He won’t tell us” coming from the person whose primary advocate in the House said “We have to pass it to know what’s in it?”

    BWAHAHAHAHA!

  • fightnright

starting in 2013, it’s either Bo or the food stamp line for Barry….

  • Mani

PrezBo actually looks tired. Granted I’m glad he’s not doing well, but he does have a silver tongue and usually does well.

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

Romney mentions why Obamacare is wrong:
    - its expensive – it cuts Medicare – it puts in place an unelected board
    - small business will cuts jobs and benefits

“Facing an economic crisis … and spend his energy and passion on this.
IT HAS KILLED JOBS.” “Craft a plan at the state level.”

GOOD, but he should have mentioned the tax increases in Obamacare. AND the impositions. … (wait, he did in followup. GOOD++)

Obama: “You keep your own health insurance.” NO YOU DONT.
“We have seen this model work well … in Massachusetts.” Deflection attempt.

Romney: “We didnt raise taxes. YOU RAISED IT BY A TRILLION DOLLARS.”
“20 million people will lose their insurance.”

Obama blathers on about cutting healthcare costs ‘folks getting a rebate’ – “He hasnt described what he will replace it with.” … disses “Buying across state lines.”

Romney: Get the costs down is good ideal. But Government is not good at doing that. “Your example of Cleveland clinic … creativity and innovation … we dont need a board … we need to put performance pay , mayo clinic … not to have government to mandate … the private market and individual responsibility work best.”

Obama hits on continuous coverage vs pre-existing conditions, and hangs his support on Obamacare on Romneycare. IMHO this shows how weak Obama on it, he’s trying to diffuse a difference. But actually it suggests that Romney wont do

“Are the plans too good?” “These are tough problems!”

    WOW. AMAZING. ANOTHER ADVANTAGE ROMNEY.

  • Mani

What about PrezBo’s whole 2007 campaign? He didn’t tell us anything, just that he was going to bring “Change You Can Believe In.”

  • Mani

Erick, we want live chat back!!! pretty please?

  • lineholder

    Obama’s role of government:
    Nanny state enhances freedom!

  • lineholder

Better trained workforce? With the failing grades we have coming out our school system right now?

    Not happening!

  • westcoastpatriette

Yeah, and Obama looks angry and like he’s in a snit.

  • lineholder

Go, Romney, Go! Love the approach he’s taking on the role of government.

“Let the people pursue their dreams…not government’s dream!”

  • mrmacphisto

Romney has just been killing Obama tonight. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sitting President get hammered like this.

  • youthgrunt

Obama: “budgets matter”. Yep. It would be nice if we had one.

  • http://www4.webng.com/rickbull/lostlucky/ rickbull

The folks over at DKO’s are claiming that Romney is being smug and Maobama is winning–in other words, they are delusional as usual.

  • Johnnyred

is Jim Lehrer being pretty even handed here, or am I just being naive

  • jamesm

    Dkos agrees! :)

  • krish

time to talk about school choice!!! hit out of the park, please!!

  • fightnright

Obama’s facial expression is one of desperation; don’t look at the forced tight smiles, it’s all in the eyes. BHO’s keeping his arms pulled in close and protectively too. His lips aren’t saying ‘uncle’ but his eyes are ~screaming~ it. meanwhile Mitt’s smiles, his demeanor and bodily attitude remains relaxed and in charge….

  • Bill S

    5.

If only Romney would use that…

  • Bill S

Take a look at Bill Maher’s Twitter feed. He’s practically crying.

  • youthgrunt

The format is good, which leads him to be even handed. I like this format more than any I’ve seen in many, many elections.

  • Ausonius

Give BIG BRObama a pack of Kools after this! Maybe 2 packs! Mr. Cool Dude has melted away into the Black Hole he truly is!

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

    Role of Government:
Obama – channels … Lincoln?!? Not FDR, LBJ and Che ? LOL.
Race to the Top is not topdown. (Um, Federal Dept of Ed not top down?)

Role of Government: Romney – Promote and Protect – Constitution & Declaration. We are endowed by our creator, talks of rights to life and liberty and pursuit of happiness.

In a wonky debate, Romney semi-reaches for eloquence.
Trickle-Down Government approach is not working … 32 million to 46 million on food stamps. College students cant get the jobs they need, etc. We need a new course.

Obama – Budgets reflect choices – goes on about tax cuts; ‘significant cuts in education’ . Ryan budget. “Wasnt detailed.”
Funny, BUT I DONT REMEMBER ANY OBAMACARE DETAILS IN 2008 CAMPAIGN.

it is me, or are they letting Obama babble on for a long time. He’s getting boring and running on and on. All to basically say how good education is.

Romney: “Mr President, you are entitled to your own house, but
… not your own facts. … $90 billion in green energy that would have hired 2 million teachers.” Government should not “take over healthcare system” “how do we get schools more competitive?” “I dont want to cut our commitment to education.” “I care about education…” Nice retort on this side-issue.

ANOTHER ADVANTAGE ROMNEY. Obama babbled and attempted to be innocuous and Romney made solid points about governing.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

@billmaher: i can’t believe i’m saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter” That says it all

  • jamesm

Romney absolutely is destroying Obama in the debate. Wow

  • Mani

who’s going around voting down everyone’s comment?

  • http://www4.webng.com/rickbull/lostlucky/ rickbull

Yeah, Bill’s having a devil of a night over there in liberal land, isn’t he?

  • lineholder

Listen to the ideas of anyone who advances middle class cause? What about your jobs commission, Mr. President? What about the ideas that were offered to you via Simpson/Bowles?

  • krish

did he hear you? or, have ESP or something!!

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

    Partisanship.
Obama: “Occasionally you have to say no…” But reality check: Obama has only said no to Republicans, never no to Democrats.

Romney: I will sit with Democrats ,etc.

No real hits on either side, but Romney has ‘street cred’ on bipartisanship as a blue-state GOP Governor.

  • mrmacphisto

I think the libs know they got their butts handed to them tonight. Obama looked terrible whereas Romney looked Presidential and stressed his ability to reach across the aisle. That’s a wise way to reach to the undecideds.

  • lineholder

Hey, did the “you didn’t build that” President just praise the people he says didn’t build it for building it? I think he did.

  • fredflintlock

Obama channeling Lincoln, “Four years ago, four years ago….four years ago….”

  • krish

obama – willing to work with the republicans as long as they agree with him!

  • fightnright

I think Mitt’s found his debating sweet spot now. He was in *flow*, focused, energized – loving it…. I think the next debate’s going to be even better for Mitt, MUCH worse for the zer0.

    yes!!!

  • http://www.TerriersOfTheRight.blogspot.com Flagstaff

Roomney did well. MIssed a big opportunity, though. Should have hit Obama with “You haven’t passed a budget in three years” when BO brought up the subject of budgets.

  • krish

    basically a spending list conclusion

  • http://www.TerriersOfTheRight.blogspot.com Flagstaff

Romney also missed out on the opportunity to point out the size of Obamacare and why that is something he wouldn’t do.

And that he isn’t the King that BO seems to think He is.

  • http://www.TerriersOfTheRight.blogspot.com Flagstaff

I would also have concluded with “You will notice that the President has told you an awful lot about what MY plans are. He has told us very little about what HIS plans are”

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

Obama: Final 2 minutes, he is looking down.
‘You know, 4 years ago, … not perfect … I would fight … I kept that promise.”

Romney: What kind of America do we want? Look at the record.
If Obama: Middle-class squeeze; chronic unemployment; If I’m President 12 million new jobs.
Obamacare will be fully installed. …focus on getting
$716 billion cut – lose Medicare Advantage
Military – Secty said cuts are devasting. Strength.

Mark Shields – President was ‘Rusty’
PBS – lots of jumping around, Romney used Governor of Mass.,
    Brooks – “harder to stereotype”

FINAL CALL – ROMNEY ADVANTAGE. Even liberals are admitting ‘rust’ on Obama.

TONIGHT – THE REAL CAMPAIGN BEGINS

  • runner12

Romney just absolutely gave Obama a royal beat down. Obama rarely answered the questions, preferring to spout talking points. At times I was like “What IS he talking about?” The closing commentary by Obama was lackluster and he seemed almost apologetic at having to ask people to vote for him again.

Romney looked excited to get to work on the problems we face. Whoever helped him prep for this debate deserves a raise.

  • conservativemusician

Mitt kicked Obama’s butt tonight. The polls by tomorrow will have Obama 20 points ahead nationally and 30 points ahead in the swing states.

  • lineholder

The myth of “the great orator” just died, huh?

  • fightnright

well maybe not O’s, I’d rather not read profanity…. :)

  • Cheryl

I’m an Oakland A’s fan, no politics for me tonight. But comment from one of my lib bay FB friends: “Obama better stick to the facts, he’s sounding illiterate!”

  • Johnnyred

    O’s notes: need a cigarette, need a cigarette, need a cigarette….

  • Mani

He also missed pointing out all the companies PrezBo exempted from the plan as well as the Senate and House.

  • nepanyrush

Stephanopolis praised Romney, indicating that he was more crisp in his answers than Obama. It was a GREAT debate by Romney.

  • fightnright

better that way. If Obama is re-elected, we’d ALL be crying.

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

ROMNEY WINS DEBATE … that’s the vibe … MSNBC says Obama lost … Brooks: Romney will get a lift.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

Markos just quit commenting – I bet he ran over to the local bar to drown his sorrows.

  • PowerToThePeople

I think that may be the first time Maher ever came close to being honest. You know Obama really sucked when Maher conceded victory.

  • lineholder

Ausonius, one of the biggest things about narcissists, especially malignant narcissists in positions of power, is that they absolutely HATE having anyone even remotely in way, shape, form or fashion, question their judgment on anything they do or say. They hate this with a passion.

Romney questioned practically everything! Challenged it through and through!

  • krish

MSNBC…ok, just wanted to hear what they say…surprised to see that they think Mitt killed Obama in the debate!!!!

  • kowalski

Chris Matthews looked more disturbed tonight than I have ever seen him. Janet Napolitano should send someone to talk to him before he gets on a plane to come home.

  • littlehouse18

I think that is an emblem related to the secret service. He and Ryan have been wearing them a lot. A friend of mine who hosted an Ann Romney event has one and she said the secret service gave it to her.

  • westcoastpatriette

I understand it was Portman that prepped Romney.

  • Mani

    lol

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

    Obama ended up babbling.

  • Locked and Loaded

The only disappointment I had with Romney came after Obama brought up the budget. He opened the door, and Mitt missed an opportunity to pound him.

  • conservativemusician

Mitt was well-prepared and absolutely masterful. Obama was outclassed in every way and I’m sure he wasn’t expecting Romney to be so aggressive and confident. He looked presidential while Obama looked lost and fumbled around most of the night. I feel a lot better now about things. Hopefully the polls will start moving our direction now.

  • Kyle-MI

So, now are you excited about voting for Romney in November?

I have been in business 25 years – I have no idea what you’re talking about. I maybe need to get a new accountant. – Governor Romney

  • lastgopinillinois

Overall Romney was respectful of the president during the debate and although he brushed Jim Lehrer off, he was able to successfully lighten his assertiveness with humor so it made him seem less rude (my attempt at viewing it from a liberals point of view). Romney was on the offensive throughout the debate, even when refuting 0bamas lies. No stuttering, no errors, but Romney missed a few opportunities to slam 0bama:
When they were talking about IPAB in 0bamacare, Romney should have added that it would lead to rationing of healthcare and that people most affected (initially) would be seniors being denied end of life care.
On budgets, Romney should have indicated that 0bama hadn’t passed a budget in his term and that even his own democrats in congress wouldn’t pass it.
When Romney was railing on 0bama about his govt loan program for green energy companies, he should have stated that the Federal govt should not be involved in that business. Let the market decide which energy sources are going to be more popular based upon cost. Romney did say that 0bama picked the losers, but the point should have been that the Federal govt shouldn’t be picking anything.
I’ve never been all that enthusiastic about Romney as the nominee, so I think I can say without much bias that this debate was a slam dunk win for Romney, however, I believe that liberals who actually watched the debate would still agree with 0bamas propaganda, lies and misleading remarks. So I don’t think it will change anyones vote.

Oh yes! Dogmatic Marxists are especially blinkered (brainwashed?) by their own utopian fantasies, and when you mix in racism, look out!

I have seen venom from such people, whenever logic and evidence against Marxist/Socialist ideas are presented. It is never pretty! This is what has been so frustrating for the last 3 3/4 years: the evidence that BIG BRObama’s policies are failures is everywhere around us, from the grave of our Libyan ambassador to the unemployed 20-somethings with Master’s degrees to the bankrupt solar energy companies to the demoralization and defunding of our military to the wasteland known as Detroit.

And yet the MSM lionizes this alley cat with near hysteria.
