The Obama Campaign Processed This Donation

Here now is the screenshot of what Barack Obama’s campaign processed as a donation to the campaign. This would not have happened had the Obama campaign taken basic steps to verify credit card information. But, as always, Team Obama relied on someone else to fix their mess — the bank.

Had basic checks been implemented, this donation would have been rejected. Keep in mind that all the information present except the credit card information is completely made up.

Every bit of that information was made up except the actual credit card information.

What you can’t see is that below the employer information, it asked for my passport number. I gave them a string of zeros.

And when I clicked the donate button, I got this:

Within a few minutes and for three days thereafter, my online banking account showed this:

It was thanks to the bank, not Barack Obama’s campaign, that the donation did not go through.

No wonder the Obama campaign is scrambling to shut down this story.

    Yep. But then I wanted it to be completely absorb. The email address is another example. Same with the phone number, which was actually my phone number in Dubai, UAE growing up.

    Of course Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale would have been completely over the top, but since this was already over the top…

    I find it amazing that Obama, despite the obvious decrease in enthusiasm, he would still be getting so many small donations for which disclosure is not required. Hmmm.

    I know it probably flies in the face of so-called “free speech”, but why can’t we otherwise restrict all presidential donations to the $3 on the tax return forms? Absolutely prohibit donations in any other form. Seriously, why do these campaigns need so much stinkin money tha could otherwise be helping those in need?

    proof positive they both need to go in the next session. It’s time for our new leadership, I’m looking at you Mitt, to step forward and announce a plan to prosecute those who enabledthis 2012 outright fraud.

    I’m sure The Moron and Axlegrease have themselves insulated but Congressional hearings will be interesting and demand extra butter on the
    popcorn.

    I’d like to bring up something different. The economic crash started in part because Obama covered up so much about himself. Our system needs confidence to run at it’s best. Nobody talks about this, even when they blame Bush, Bush, Bush. Obama and all his covering up stuff hurt and is hurting this country and Americans.

    The economic downturn started when Obama pulled ahead of Hillary and went into a complete tailspin when he was seen as the sure thing to win the Democratic ticket. I can’t see how he could fool even 20% of the country to vote for him at this point. I’m sure there’s some out there.

    This is overt proof of a lack of oversight and possible fraud (I say ‘possible’ because it is still alleged – ‘presumption of innocence’ and all that legalese) but it is *also* a story that the MSM has refused to dig into.

    The allegations were out there back in 2008, too. The press should *also* be held accountable in this matter because they have a duty -one *mandated* by the constitution’s freedom of the press clause – to be our watchdog over government and they have failed us!

    Part of what I do is write credit card processing systems, and it’s not unlikely that Obama’s campaign is using authorize and capture to handle your card processing, in which case they may well have reviewed the transaction during the three days and then cancelled it.

    With authorize and capture you basically tell the bank that you want to authorize a certain transaction amount and put a freeze on the funds, but don’t actually pull them from the account until a later date. If the process of validating information is ending up requiring some sort of manual process to validate things (which wouldn’t be shocking if they’re asking for passport numbers) it would be pretty typical to authorize the funds, check them out, and then cancel the authorization. For tons of banks that would show up as processing while it’s happening, but wouldn’t necessarily mean that the bank didn’t let the transaction go through.

    This becomes a severe issue with prepaid credit cards where there is no name or address associated with the credit card on file. Foreign nationals can contribute using false information with no means of verification.

    A common scam is using prepaid cards and populating with random information from a phone book. Last election a woman was in trouble for not declaring over $170k in donations to Obama’s campaign, turns out she never donated and people were using her information to get around reporting requirements.

    When you see the descriptor “so-called” before “free speech,” alarms bells ought to be going off everywhere. It mean’s you’re in the vicinity of someone who thinks the government should decide who should have the right to free speech and should pick free speech winners and losers.

    Good work. We now see how easy anyone can donate to Obama for president. His donation site should fix the mess ASAP and come clean on national origins of all donors online.
    I am curious why the donor security shorts? Does team O think they won’t get caught?
