BinderGate

In the aftermath of the second town-hall style Presidential debate, Democrats pounced on a statement made by Governor Romney concerning a question about equal pay for women in the workplace.  His explanation of how his administration worked with women’s groups included recounting that the women’s groups brought them “binders full of women.”  The statement exploded immediately, with those on the left painting the Governor as out of touch with women’s issues; despite the reality that 10 of 20 top level positions in the Romney administration were filled by women.

However, as first reported by Boker tov, Boulder!, Governor Romney wasn’t the only one to receive binders focused on a particular group.  In 2009 Representative Keith Ellison (D-Minn), the first Muslim ever elected to Congress who has had questionable ties to Muslim extremist groups, helped a quiet effort to get more Muslim Americans jobs in the Obama Administration.  The group attempted to keep their work out of the public eye due to increasing concerns that the president had shown a preference toward Muslim groups.  Not helping the perceived religious preference, the administration sped up the process of receiving the “book of Muslims” when they found out about Ellison and others’ project.  Unlike the coordinators, the President’s administration sought to shed light on their Muslim focused hiring practices.

While attempts to provide equal opportunities for everyone are commonplace in our country, hiring based on religious affiliation is borderline against federal law.  If a president or even a private company began hiring employees in part because of their Christian or Jewish faith, there would be nationwide outrage complete with protestors in gimmicky outfits.  As is the case with most every issue associated with the Obama administration, the mainstream media continues to turn a blind eye in their hopes to win over the affections of an obviously preferential administration.

Nice job, Breeanne, of trying to have a serious discussion of an originally loony topic. Your take is a truly serious one, but I can’t see anybody on The View talking about it.

Obama himself said voters should be wary of the candidate who makes a big election about small things. The media is in Obama’s corner, and the media also loves Muslims, so the only reason they would have for reporting on this would be to show the right as being extreme. We all know how he embraced Muslims… remember the great apology tour? Why, Muslims were coaching George Washington, according to Obama! http://fundamentalrefounding.ning.com/forum/topics/sandra-fluke-speaks-in-reno-draws-10-people Even comments under this popular thread evolved to pointing out that the Muslims are the ones who are waging an outright war on women, yet this same left embraces them as the religion of peace and love. Yeah, right…now, about that bridge, sir?

God bless it that the Obama team is making a case about Big Bird, Binders and Bayonets (the 3 B’s?).

Ever since ‘You didn’t build that’, Obama’s people have been looking for an effective counter punch and have not found one to land. So, they grasp…and it seems very evident that Team Obama is grasping.

I have a new ‘B’ for them, baloney.

That’s what these distraction are..and, I think, an awful, small-minded approach that completely eschews the idea of looking Presidential. The President talks about addressing big things but plays small.

In the end, it means his words are even more hollow than before.

Mitt is surging because he has been revealed to be a solid candidate but it hasn’t hurt his surge that the Obama desperation has gone small and silly.

It’s like Team Obama is getting it’s campaign ideas from icanhascheezburger.com.

If ever there was a time to say, “If this is the best they can do. . .”

Really. “Pounced” is a good way of putting it, but we’ve got to factor in the time spent waiting for something to pounce on, the list of possible pounce-worthy issues that resulted, and lastly the surreal pathos of the discussion that took place that led to their trying to pretend a folder full of names could be spun into a meaningful issue.

Even if I were to take Romney’s comment in a derogatory way, it is nothing compared to telling women entrepreneurs (especially working mom entrepreneurs) that they “didn’t build that.” When spun that way, Obama’s comment is far more offensive, demeaning, and derogatory toward the contributions of businesswomen everywhere to economic prosperity.

it is impossible to be a Muslim and believe in democracy. there is no Islam without Sharia law, and there is no democracy in Sharia law. This said, if you renounce Sharia law, and a few other less principles in Islam, you can be an “almost-Muslim” or as they call Mormons who drink alcohol “a jack-Mormon”.

Obama said he didn’t need binders because he could see plenty of women right here in the audience . Affirmative action only needs one requirement . He has never thought of matching skills to a job.
