Did Barack Obama Intentionally Mislead KUSA’s Kyle Clark About ‘Abound Solar’?

President Obama gave an interview to Kyle Clark of Colorado NBC affiliate KUSA. In the interview, which saw the President answer and try to dodge some of the toughest question he’s been asked the whole campaign season, the President claimed the White House has no involvement with stimulus funds going to a company called Abound Solar. The company, as you can guess, is another loser picked by the Administration that has now failed.

The President, when asked about Abound Solar, told Kyle Clark,

“These loans that are given out by the Department of Energy for clean energy have created jobs all across the country.” … “Some of them have failed but the vast majority of them are pushing us forward into a clean energy direction.”

“These are decisions, by the way, that are made by the Department of Energy, they have nothing to do with politics,” President Obama said.

The company, like most of the other, is owned by major Obama donors.

The website Complete Colorado has obtained emails between Department of Energy loan executive Jonathan Silver and the Department of Energy’s Credit Advisor, Jim McCrea, claiming the White House was pressuring the Department of Energy to move the loan forward for Abound Solar. Even more troubling, Complete Colorado also has internal Department of Energy emails that suggest the Department of Energy’s Credit Advisor had serious reservations about giving any money to Abound Energy. Previously, emails have surfaced from the credit advisor, Jim McCrea, in which he wrote, “All in all in the solar field, l think it is extremely easy to pick losers and l really do not know how to pick winners.”

Nonetheless, the government did give Abound Solar money and did so after Department of Energy officials, in writing, admitting they were getting pressure from the White House.

Complete Colorado has more details.

We knuckle-dragging Right Wing Hatemongers can’t seem to figure it out:

There ARE no Obama Policy Failures. Liberal authoritarian Philosopher Kings can’t be judged upon the basis of the outcome of their policies– they can only be judged on the grandiosity of their good intent.

Thus, sluicing hard-earned taxpayer money into demonstrably unsustainable, non-market oriented quasi-private enterprises cannot, by liberal definition, be judged either a “failure” or, even, “political”. They are just the “right thing to do”. Failure is not only NOT an option, it isn’t even a possibility. Pace Josef Stalin, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Results do not matter.

Furthermore, folks who give money to Obama’s campaign likewise cannot be adjudged as criminals when they receive what outsiders and the common folk might adjudge to be payola and kick-backs: The were doing “the right thing”, too, and Obama is “doing the right thing” by rewarding them. Nothing criminal, nor even immoral, in their sick, warped and misshappenly illogical world.

Also, the vast practitioners of that which passes for journalism are in on the statist whirlwind, And, they try their best to reap the hurricane of totalitarianism.

    Easy.

Correct me if I am wrong here. It is my understanding that the Department of Energy is a part of the Administration and thus acts on orders from the President. I guess in Obama’s world view anything that does not happen to make him look good is not his fault and anything that does make him look good, he trumpets to the rooftops and the admiring and useful idiots that support him.

Obama has NEVER mislead anyone. The man is the epitome of truth, justice, and the American way. Well, maybe an teeney-weeney little fib, but only for the good of his beloved USA.

Excuse me, time to throw up.

“Pace Josef Stalin, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Results do not matter.”

It’s been hard for me to understand how easily people have been led by leftists globally, and especially how long they will keep voting to get their ‘fair share’, even when that fair share hasn’t materialized for decades.

In the north of my home state NY, the business climate has been deteriorating for a very long time. Main streets shuttered, services cut, schools closing, formerly prosperous towns and villages turning into inner-city style pockets of poverty and despair, populations entirely dependent on food stamps and welfare. Joblessness is rampant. Many folks would like to work, but regional jobs are so scarce that the price of gas and car upkeep for long commutes eat up low wage paychecks, making entitlement programs the sensible choice.

So in 2000, Hillary Clinton took a tour of the devastation, shook a lot of hands, listened to many suffering people and promised that her first priority would be bringing jobs to upstate NY. The poor, minorities and the Northeastern elites were thrilled to have a celebrated Democrat to vote for. I was working at Rudy Guiliani’s offices for the Rick Lazio campaign at the time, and watched from NYC Republican Headquarters as the First Lady/carpetbagger got swept in.

Needless to say, NY State is in even worse shape 12 years later, both in business and joblessness (despite a recent glossy and pricey ad campaign begging companies to relocate there). Yet this state elected Obama making the same promises of hope and change, and is all but guaranteed to go Democrat in November.

It continues to astonish me how gullible the academy-brainwashed young, the poor and the minorities can be in election after election. The lessons of history are not taught in schools, so it’s easy for the poor to believe that leftism’s promise will be fulfilled, despite the examples of the USSR and other socialist
failures around the globe. The masses are always told that there is a “1%” who has all the wealth, and the new ‘People’s Party’ will take it and give it to them. Instead, the Inner Party of elites who made the promises takes it and gives it to themselves, always leaving the poor in even worse shape than they started in.

I have only seen a clip or 2 from that kusa video but it might be the most badass tough interview Obama has had. It is amazing that we have to rely in a local interview and Univision to get some tough questions around here, 3 yrs in. The national press is pathetic.

Need to find a way to get “Animal Farm” on the curriculum of as may school systems as possible.

  • jerseygalnny

Stan, that is what Obama always does… claims credit, or lays blame. He is a master at that. Think is, blaming this video is a story that just isn’t flying with ‘we the people,’ despite what Chris ‘tingleboy’ Matthews says! There are some good posts on FR about this and I hope you will take a look, and consider joining us! http://fundamentalrefounding.ning.com/forum/topics/obama-still-lying-he-knew-within-minutes-drone-video-is-damaging Even after the election, we will have a long road ahead to turn us around. God bless, ~ JG

The money wasn’t “lost”. It was funneled to major Obama donors, and a portion of that was then funneled back into O’s campaign coffers. All by design.

I wouldn’t get too excited. Like all the TV channels in Denver, KUSA is in the tank for progressivism. KUSA also appears to have a very cosy relationship with Comcast, another company which swims in the same tank. Hmm isn’t KUSA the local NBC affiliate and doesn’t Comcast own controlling shares of NBC Universal??? Must be a coincidence.

We shouldn’t forget that KUSA had their thumb securely on the scale when they were reporting on the local OWS demonstrations. Even suppressing video of a Denver PD officer being assulted by OWS while painting OWS as victims.

I haven’t seen this particular segment but the way I view it is that if this was a hard interview then someone in the local progressive political office was firing a warning shot off the bow of the administration just to let them know that the bill is a few days late being paid.

“….is where dead news goes to be buried and fear in openly mongered….”

Patronage has been a key feature of Chicago politics since Al Capone was still alive, if not before….

I planned to be outside this afternoon to try to clean up my rose garden and cut back very tall canes because they will break in the hurricane. I will do a search on Andrew Jackson. Thanks for the info, unfortunately I forget some of our history.

I have the local news on, they just played a clip of Obama talking about the hurricane. Why does every word this man say sound like it’s been rehearsed and there are almost always pauses when there should not be.

  • CarolT

We, The US Citizens “lost” in the process, as has been the custom of the Obama administration.

  • jaykali

That may be true but not in this interview. The anchor had him by the balls at least in a couple parts.

  • davesinsanantonio

Yes, but for us poor taxpayers, throwing tax dollar eggs down a politically correct but failing rat hole will not result in any cooked omelets. So, next Tuesday, we taxpayers will take back the unbroken eggs that are still left and see if we cannot build a constitutionally valid omelet that will not only feed us, but put us back to work producing more eggs, and maybe even some ham and cheese to go with them.

  • wumingren

That would be a start. Another would be to have a teacher do the experiement whereby all grades are leveled, i.e., the failing students get a “fair share” of the outstanding students’ grades. Take all the A’s, B’s, C’s, D’s, and F’s and average them to one grade, which is then given to each student. See how fast the kids figure out that communism sucks.

  • eheassler

Gee, where have we heard this before? Does Solyndra sound familiar. obam’ and his cronies are systematically looting the Treasury. When obam’ is voted out of office and we start finding out where the money went, who got it and who still has some of it, there will be indictments, trials, and jaile terms. obam’, holder, jackson, and sebelius shoul all get for orange jump suits because that is what they should be wearing.

“… as the First Lady/carpetbagger got swept in.”

That’s something I never quite figured out. She spent two terms as Arkansas’s First Lady. She then went on to spend two terms in Washington as First Lady . So, at a bare minimum, discounting the time she and Bill lived in Arkansas before he was a elected, Hillary hadn’t lived in NY for at least 16 years. Yet she gets elected to represent that state!!??

BTW, sorry for the tardiness of this post, but I live in coastal NC and haven’t had internet for several days.
