The problem is we are getting a constant flood of Dem leaning (NYT/CBS/NBC) state polls in addition to an even bigger flood of the actual Democratic Party affiliated pollsters like PPP, Mellman Group, new bogus Grove Insight and Pharos Research. These state polls by their sheer volumes drive the narrative that Romney is losing in all the swing states. At least PPP is fairly honest in showing their D+8 or higher samples, but I wouldn’t put it past others to actually manipulate the numbers.

Grove Insight, a new group that is now constantly showing Obama leading everywhere from FL, NC to VA and CO is actually Axelrod’s son’s outfit. They are driving the narrative that Obama is winning and no doubt that perception will cost us. Whether it will cost us perceptibly enough is the question.

In 2010 voters In WI, IA, MI, OH, PA, and FL went to the polls and elected Rep Gov’s, with an average margin of victory being +6% (51.8 v 44.4). In all there were 39 races with net gain of +6 for the Repubs (-6 for Dems). Moreover, WI, IA, MI, OH, PA went from D to R.
As of 10-31-2012 (4:00 am EST) Gallop’s daily tracking is R51 O46 (+5%).
P.S. This is now the 2nd full week (9-15-12) with R at +50%.

It’s not as much of a problem when the biased nature of the polling is exposed. Limbaugh has been railing about the skewed polling for over an hour now. It is being blogged about across the nation. It is being covered on newscasts. The crappy sampling is no surprise to those who have half a brain…and we likely won’t win over large portions of brainless voters anyway, so I wouldn’t sweat it. Just keep writing about it and exposing it.
