Dem playbook in action, voting machines stealing Colorado

Some of you may remember how much fun the vote count was in Florida back in 2000. It seemed destined to go on forever until the U.S. Supreme Court stepped in. More of you may remember 2004 the last time we had a brutal get out the vote fight down to the wire. The DNC’s 2004 Colorado Election Manual is a helpful reminder of what Democrats can be expected to do to try win President Obama’s reelection. Page 54 of the manual instructs:

If no signs of intimidation techniques have emerged yet, launch a pre-emptive strike…

With the presidential contest too close to call, Obama’s Justice Department dispatching hundreds of lawyers to 23 states and Democrats having 2,500 lawyers stationed across Ohio, 600 in Cuyahoga County alone, to “monitor” elections there are bound to be more shenanigans than we can imagine. Don’t forget Obama’s Attorney General decided not to go after the New Black Panther Party members who were intimidating voters in 2008.

So it is troubling that we are hearing numerous reports of voting machines recording votes intended for Romney as votes for Obama.

Colorado’s KRDO NewsChannel 13 reports that the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office is investigating after more than a dozen Pueblo voters say voting machines switched their pick from Mitt Romney to Barack Obama.

One Romney voter, told KRDO that when she hit the touchscreen for Romney, a check mark appeared next to Obama’s name. She said she asked for help to fix the problem, but still feels unsure about her vote:

“I wonder where my vote really counted,” she said.

Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz says that voters have several chances to change their ballot before casting it, and said everyone who’s experienced a problem has gotten help and voted how they intended to.

According to KDRO, some are worried that some voters may not notice the machine error, and this problem could persist on election day.

Chuck Schneider, a poll watcher who said he learned of the problem from a Democratic election judge said:

“How many more times has this occurred? None of us know. This could have a significant effect on the election in this county.”

Pueblo Republican Chair Becky Mizel said this highlights the importance of voters double checking their print out ballot before casting their vote. She also expects the clerk’s office to notify voters of the problem:

“At the very minimum, we would expect the county clerk’s office to post a note on the door (of polling places) and have judges tell our voters there could be a problem with the DRE machine.”

Similar “machine voting error” is also being investigated in Mesa and Arapahoe counties and, Fox News reports, in six other states — Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina and Ohio. You can watch Eric Shawn report on the Ohio voting machine machinations here.

The Republican National Committee has sent a letter to election officials in the seven states where voters have reported machines switching votes from Romney to Obama demanding tighter controls on touch-screen machines. In the letter the RNC asked for the following:

  1. All voting machines be re-calibrated before Election Day.
  2. Additional technicians in the event of further issues.
  3. Sign notification reminding voters to double-check the correctness of their ballot in the machine before final submission.
  4. Verbal guidance to remind voters to make sure that the ballot they cast is correct.

You can read the entire letter here.

When I first first heard the claims of voting machines stealing Romney votes I didn’t put much stock in it. But now that there are so many such reports spread across seven states, the complaints must be taken seriously. It also makes one wonder whether the false allegations that Romney was rigging voting machines was actually a cover story for some nefarious scheme to steal Romney votes.

It’s going to be an interesting week.

Why do I have the feeling Ovomit is going to win/steal this election…

“It’s going to be an interesting week.”

well, I can’t say I just found it ‘interesting’ when Al Franken won a critical Senate seat after the discovery of stacks – or sacks – of lost and forgotten ballots in Minnesota.

One of the better Dem cheating mechanisms would seem to be a lookee over here! distraction gambit which might have Republican poll-watchers focused on a highly publicized black-box style debacle, while genuine election theft is being carried out behind the scenes.

After Acorn/2008, plus the highly politicized dismissal of the Black Panther voter intimidation case, and with State Department declaring that UN election monitors will have full diplomatic immunity, Republicans legal teams would have to be mad not to cast the widest net possible in their election day surveillance, plus a finely-tuned rapid response capability for reports of shenanigans observed at the polls.

It’s like the “fixing” of slot machines.
Or perhaps the Obots have place a computer virus in those machines. Wouldn’t that be the way to go?

  • tlhoward

Of all the other names on the Presidential ballot (libertarian candidates, green party, etc.) why are the machines switching R votes to O?

  • tlhoward

I don’t even trust that if the machines say “R” on the screen that the electronic transfer of the vote remains an “R.” I hate voting machines. We still have paper ballots in my county of CA.

  • moosedrops

Riiight, I was thinking the same thing. B.O. is an EVIL DICTATOR and will stop at nothing to remain in office and finish off this country. He’s done a fine job of it so far.

    Grrr!

  • deano64

Well hopefully Romney wins big enough that a tight race in one state won’t matter.

  • frankmac

Just another reason to ask for a paper ballot in Colorado. Everybody can vote via mail (or drop off their ballot) in CO. I use paper every single time, and drop off the ballot myself.

  • ss396

There are many reports of Romney votes showing up as cast for Obama. Does anyone have a story for Obama votes showing up as cast for Romney? Why are the “errors” all in one direction ? (Rhetorical question, folks. We all know the answer.)

  • frankmac

The only reason Obama even won in 2008 was because ACORN committed massive voter fraud!!! Do we really think states like Indiana, North Carolina, and Virginia actually voted for a Democrat? No way! Don’t let it happen again this time, people!

LUR, my family voted on Friday morning in NC. I made note of the voting machine make (Ivotronics) but didn’t find model information identified on the equipment, so I can’t provide that info.

Here are some pictures. The ones we use in NC are represented second row, second from the left.
    http://www.google.com/search?q=ivotronics&hl=en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=eKGWUK_yAqnI0QHnvYHwCQ&ved=0CDsQsAQ&biw=1015&bih=630

I found a copy of verification protocol for the equipment online
    http://www.voteallegheny.org/auditing092808.pdf

Also found website blog info from ’08 with data pertaining to equipment processing issues.
    http://www.bbvforums.org/forums/messages/7659/76240.html

Wondering how many other areas have verification protocols in place and to what extent those protocols are being followed.

  • Teapartier

It is odd that the opposite has not happened. I have not heard anyone saying that their Obama vote went to Romney.

  • fightnright

hey don’t just get sad, get MAD, girlfriend!

The US is not some third world mudpit yet, nor would the Americans I know be willing to sit back and accede to some national soviet style vote count. Our team still has too many Sheriff Joe’s, Scott Walkers, and Katherine Harrises around to let thugs run the table – if it comes down to that. They might try to invalidate my vote, but they’ll never suppress my revolt, as long as God gives me breath…

  • edintexas

I wish we still had paper ballots, or even the “Butterfly Ballots” (they worked fine for people who were at least semi-literate). At least we don’t have touch-screen machines, but they still are a PITA compared to earlier ballots. And there is no paper trail for a recount.

  • moosedrops

Oh, believe me, I’m MAD! I know my BP is UP. Just tok Ibuprofen for a massive headache. I canNOT understand why politics has to be SO corrupt. They need to work TOGETHER for US.

    GRRRRR!!!

  • fredflintlock

This is a state level issue. If enough people make a case with the legislature, the technology can be changed. Maybe it could be floated as a ballot proposal, LOL. My district still uses paper. Even so, I have this sinking feeling every time I watch the sheet disappear into the tabulator, but I’m glad voting here produces a stack of papers that can be counted manually if needed.

  • gunnyg2002

I am reminded of when I shot competition in the Corps. They KEEP ALL of the targets used for a few days afterward in case of a challenge. We caught a cheater, washed his targets, counted the holes, and he was de-medaled and banned for life from competition.

Thank God we use PAPER ballots here in AK for the very same reason. I vote and my ballot goes from my hand into the tabulator that holds them for election officials. If there is a question, count them up again!

Oh, did I mention we have to show ID to vote AND sign by our printed name on voter lists?

  • jpalm

No body complaing about vote for Obama going for Romney.
This is NOT calibration it is software fraud.
Check the liberal jerk in charge of software.
    Follow the money!

These communist radical liberals have decided that if they can’t win this election legally legitimately, they will steal it any way they can.. As the govt power in charge, they- Obama and his henchmen/henchwomen- Holder, Napolitano, Jarrett, etc., and their crony political thug extensions like the NAACP, ACLU, New Black Panther Party, SEIU, AFL-CIO, Teamsters, etc, they can, and will try to control the outcome..

Joseph Stalin- The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.

This is the liberal progressive socialist marxist way- standard operating procedures-
intimidation, threats, manipulation, coercion, legal maneuvers, along with cheating / vote rigging.. any corrupt means necessary to win at all costs..

This is the most corrupt govt regime, and political apparatus complex, as well as their crony puppet organization extensions, since the end of the Civil War, and the Democrats / Dixiecrats ran the govt in the late 1800′s, til today.

Which is why we must all stand our grounds, and defend our votes, our Freedom, our Liberty, our Democracy, our Constitution, or forever lose it to these despotic despicable corrupt liberal socialist marxist immoral people.

Every election should have an electronic means of recording the votes. Then the machine should produce a paper receipt that the voter can verify. Then the paper receipts should be kept secure. And the people who manage the electronic records should differ from the people who keep the paper receipts.

We live in a world where I can request a paper receipt for a .99 song I buy on iTunes. It is ponderous that we have some states with electronic voting with no paper verification.
