Reports are coming in that Lenoir County North Carolina has not allowed GOP Poll Watchers into the polls all day because, they claim, something was wrong with a draft of the paperwork submitted with the poll watchers names.

However, the State Board of Elections has recommended that the county allow the poll watchers access as, one assumes, the integrity of the process should take priority over technicalities in paperwork submissions.

I reached out to Dana King, the Lenoir County Board of Elections Director, to ask what the technicality was that disqualified the GOP poll observers and why they’ve chosen to ignore the recommendation of the State Board of Elections. Ms. King has thus far not responded.
