This doesn’t surprise me. I’m curious when the companies affected by the defense cuts will post their layoff notices…was so nice that Obama allowed/demanded that they not follow the law and send the notices til after the election. Nothing like stabbing your electorate in the back right after you get their vote.
Well America, you voted for more of the same, or you just didn’t vote. Now you’ll see that there are consequences for how you vote. Too bad Obama has never planned to maintain the work of the last four years, he has every intention of taking the rest of what you have in the next four years. You got what you deserved. You should have paid attention when we tried to tell you. You shouldn’t have been petulant children refusing to vote for a Morman, not thinking of what another Obama term would mean. OMG, now you’re finding out Rush, Hannity, and Bortz were right, Obama and his thugs DID lie, cheat, and steal. They did cover-up. They weren’t who they proclaimed they were. But, you made your voice heard. You asked for this, so stfu and live with it, or DO SOMETHING about it instead of hoping it’ll get better on it’s own!

Actually, yes. Following the BLS numbers, it appears that much of the northeast wasn’t able to report numbers for two weeks, artificially reducing the numbers. Now that they’ve come back online, they’re pushing up the numbers. There may be some extra Sandy-related job losses, and I suspect that there are some Obama-related losses, but it’s all swamped by the northeast being underwater.

We won’t find out if there were genuine Obama-related job losses until a couple weeks from now.

I don’t think they held back plans that were already in motion. Instead, I think businesses had two plans of action in place prior to the election. If Romney won, they could enact plan A, but if Obama was re-elected, Plan B would be set in motion.

People forget that businesses are constantly forecasting the future, and that perceived expenses (such as tax increases) can have a ripple effect long before they actually take place. Businesses plan ahead, and if they see that they need to cut staff before 1/1/2014, they’re going to go ahead and cut right now so they can build up cash and be prepared for what’s next.
