The “Joe Biden calls Barack Obama a ‘homeboy’” Sunday night memorial open thread.

There are just going to be some days when reality defeats me.  How can I top the sheer inanity of… this?

Seeking to reassure victims of Hurricane Sandy following a tour of the damaged boardwalk in Seaside Heights, N.J., Vice President Joe Biden told residents Sunday that he spent a lot of time on the New Jersey shore while growing up and that they’ve got a “homeboy” in the White House who “gets it.”

Except to note that I can’t wait for the reaction from the Left when they fully collectively realize that this guy’s going to be assigned to them as their 2016 candidate.

    I say no way Biden is running in 2016. Look for a mysterious health problem to ground him and prevent him from keeping up with the rigors of the campaign trail. There will be an open primary with Clinton and some young, charismatic turk with about as much experience as Obama had.

    And Republicans are the ones who want to put people in “chains”? Have dems not been told if something happens to the president of the US, that the vice-prez automatically becomes their savior? Their leader? Their One? As Biden would say ” this is a big f**king deal”. I’m imagining little Miss “virgin voter” breathlessly romanticizing over her first time…voting for a guy her friends told her to vote for, um whatzisname…and that other dude, Joe BIden.

    A youngin will summararily beat Hill again- doh! My guess is the SA Mayor named Castro. What a bad hoot that would be! Che, yeah…not! She should go out gracefully if that’s even possible after Benghazi-gate. Biden, the Baffon in Chief? If that happens, we’ll really have to turn out the lights on America. Not gonna happen.

    I missed the “assigned” to them part- comprehension I know. If Bite Me (sorry it’s what I call Biden) thinks he’s due to be the next in line, the Left won’t fight him and it’ll be a done deal; they never/rarely eat their own. Nice call Moe!

    Biden is a walking facepalm. I so dearly hope that the dems run him in 2016. He’s like a more retarded Al Gore.

    My guess is that if he runs in the 2016 primary he will do as well as in his previous attempts.

    Being fair to Biden, the actual quote was “So as the president said when he was up here with the governor, we’re not going anywhere. We’re not going anywhere. And you’ve got a homeboy in the deal who gets it.”

    Unless Obama went to the Jersey shore a lot as a kid, Biden was referring to himself, and the Post misinterpreted.

    None of this argues that Biden’s >not< an idiot, however. Biden's trip to the beach were probably made to wash off the coal dust & rehab his father's black lung disease.

    HRH Hillary just turned 65, which means she would be 69 if she ran and somehow ascended the throne in 2016. She is old and tired now, I don’t belive this old house will be able to be updated. Stranger things have happened though – just look what we have sitting on the throne again, despite his monumental and abysmal performance. I guess free stuff really does matter.
    What we need in 2016 is youth and vigor and a no holds barred down and dirty mud slingin’ contest. Nice just don’t get it.

    This administration is a disgrace. As I’ve heard someone say, we get what we voted for. Maybe the economy needs to crash. But alas, the liberal palace guards will find a way to blame R’s when the damage is done.

    I also love Jersey Shore, because one Snooki wiped away the sad effect of thousands of my fellow southerners on the Jerry Springer show.
