Update on the RNC Consultants

A short time ago, I talked to Sean Spicer of the RNC.

He tells me that Jeff Larson will not be doing the autopsy and, according to Sean, there had been no plans for Larson to do it.

He also wanted to make clear that Jeff Larson is fully divested of his interest in FLS Connect. Additionally, he said that FLS Connect and Targeted Victory are not related entities. However, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State, Targeted Victory, LLC and FLS Connect, LLC continue to share the same registered office and, despite an annual renewal filed on March 10, 2011, Tony Feather of FLS Connect, LLC remains listed as the manager of Targeted Victory, LLC.

Me thinks this story is going to have a lot of twists and turns, a lot of denials and finger pointing. However, I think the most important part is that Erick got a direct hit with his expose of the root of the corruption. The ‘hornets nest’ has been disturbed and there is now a lot of loud buzzing going on.

    Once again, thank you Erick.

The Republican Party had better…and I mean better learn from this. There are many people out here that are very disappointed in them. I don’t like Mitch McConnell who does not give a wit about citizens. Boehner is a wuzz and I am not all that happy with Canter either.

We need more people in there like Pat Toomey…Cruz, Paul Broun…NOW THERE IS A CONSERVATIVE….Tom Price…he should be the head of anything financial. I am so hoping that Marco Rubio does not become part of the “in group”.

However, who is always talking for the Republicans…Boehner…McCain and Graham. McConnell doesn’t say much of anything…it’s like looking at a rock and trying to get excited.

I posted this a number of weeks ago, but it may be worth reposting in light of what Erick (thanks, Erick!) just uncovered:

“Some two years ago, before the primaries heated up, a well-connected Republican operative informed me that Romney would be our candidate. And that’s the right word: “INFORMED”.

“I pointed out that nobody in our Tea Party liked or wanted Romney and
that I really couldn’t think of any garden variety Republicans much
    interested in him, either.

“I was informed, again (in case I didn’t hear it the first time, I suppose) that Romney was going to be our candidate.

“It was at that point that I finally believed it: Yes, Virginia, there really IS a Republican establishment.

“Going forward: Can we now rid ourselves of these (highly paid) consultants? Please?

“Once rid of these establishment consultants (who have, at best, a limited understanding of America’s founding principles) my next question is: How do we go about moving our huge (and growing) Gimmedat class toward a yearning (that translates into votes) for greater self-reliance and opportunity?”

The current crop of consultants are, to my mind, only a slightly more refined example of the Gimmedat class. Please join me in taking the pledge: Donate exclusively to specific conservative who support our Constitution, free markets, and fiscal responsibility.

Agree with all you have said times two. But, dont forget Priebus. He has shown himself to be witless also.

  • septembergurl

Well. In my opinion, Erick, YOU should be doing the autopsy. It’s not just the Romney campaign, but the losses in the Senate & House. Across the board failure, with some exceptions, in a year when we should have won.

  • commonsenseobserver

The Beltway Establishment and Mitt Romney (and Boston) were not exactly natural allies. For one thing, most people would agree that the latter is a lot more decent and humble, while the Beltway Establishment scorns anyone who doesn’t fit in with them, as Romney didn’t.

  • Section9

The story that Eric told about the suit informing the activist that Romney was going to the Nominee doesn’t surprise me at all. However, some RedStaters are enormously naive if they believe that Romney knew nothing about this racket. These people didn’t care if Romney won or lost. Romney did, but he thought that these graverobbers had his best interest at heart. He should have placed his trust elsewhere.

  • commonsenseobserver

I believe he thought that the “graverobbers” would have their own self-interests at heart by runnning a good campaign. Strangely, they didn’t seem to think that that was important.

  • Finrod

Wow. You should make a full diary out of this comment.

  • zollistar

Commonsense, the operative words in your comment are “If the RNC were smart….” The problem is…it isn’t.

At least now the evidence is overwhelming.

  • zollistar

Managers of losing campaigns move on to run new campaigns for new naifs all the time.

All things being equal, they’d prefer that their candidate win — better for their resumes — but there aren’t that many people “out there” with experience running campaigns. So even if the person has a poor track record, at least he has a track record. Plus you can count on it: he or she will always have an excuse — oops, I mean a reason — why his candidate(s) didn’t win.

    So he’s hired again.

  • davesinsanantonio

But, he would have if he had won.

I would support a move to quash the GOP leadership and replace it with conservatives again. Not sure of how to do that. After 50 years of fighting socialism it is hard to admit failure but that is what has happened. The youth have been taught nothing but failure is right for America. I fear we are lost now. it seems we have a one Party system now and it is run by Progressive Liberals and the Unions. The GOP is losing the G part of their name. People that believe in personal repsponibilty are looked at as being bad for the Hive and we are being pushed out. The GOP has moved so far to the left they are just past center and don’t know it. Diehard Conservative Repubicans still think they can move the Party back to the right. As long as peole like Karl Rove, boehner, McCain, McConnell etc are in the leadership the party is doomed. Conservatives from both parties need to bond together and fight for what is right. it can be done but not as long as they remain spinelss.

There definitely needs to be an objective autopsy of the last election, strategies, tactics, management and leadership. I desperately hope the RNC does it and makes it an objective analysis. At this moment, I do not trust the RNC to “fix” its problem. The consultants they rely on cannot seem to serve Republican interests. I have requested they remove my name from ALL their data bases. The Republican Party has a leadership problem more than anything else. It is a problem in the RNC and it is a problem in the House and the Senate. Until that gets fixed, I fear for our Republic.
