MEMBER DIARY

A Bunch of Squishes Chosen for the Super A House Committees

It’s not enough to merely elect conservatives to the House as rank-and-file members.  As we’ve seen the past few weeks, it’s all about getting the right people into leadership and important committee assignments.  Unfortunately, the roster of major committee chairmen is quite dismal, to say the least.  Worse yet, it appears that the top 3 ‘Super A’ domestic policy committees will once again be filled with squishes.

In 2011, the 3 most important committees – Ways and Means, Appropriations, and Energy & Commerce – had the lowest ratings from conservative organizations.

As you can see, it’s more of the same, especially given the fact that none of the solid freshmen were put on these committees.  Appropriations is especially depressing given that Jeff  Flake will no longer be on the committee.

Let’s face it: we will never cut spending without conservatives on Appropriations.  We will never implement a pro-growth flat tax without conservatives on Ways and Means.  We will never restore the free market and implement a proper replacement of Obamacare without conservatives on E&C.

This is a long-term strategy, but conservatives better begin playing this game.  Otherwise, the establishment will continue to put our guys on C committees.

It is not enough to “withhold” votes at the ballot box. Everyone in his district must actually vote against him. Start now to find the primary candidate who can defeat Boner, or at least make him look weak enough that he is jettisoned as Speaker and denied the chance to run as the “it’s my turn” candidate.

We have had way to many of those in the past, and they have handed the White House to the Dims every time. Boner, McPain in the Butt, Bob Dull, and all the others would rather lose the White House than let a true conservative in it. But, also they don’t really mind losing if they get the chance to say they were the candidate. Their egos are so big, and their spines so small, that they just want to be the candidate, and don’t really care if they actually win the race.

One thing we could do is swamp the congressional switchboard with angry calls, and swamp the congressional mailroom with angry letters. And, if you have enough money to spare, some angry telegrams to his office. Enough angry letters might just frighten him enough to rethink his stupidity and cowardice. Especially if they come from his district. So, if you live in Boner’s district, write, call, and get all your friends, neighbors, family members, co-workers, complete strangers, to write and call also. Scare him enough to make him wake up. If he is scared enough of the people, he will act better in the future.

Excellent post and summary. Repealing, defunding and attacking Obamacare is essential to restore a free market eonomy and a proper balance to federalism. ACA is run out of DC by panels and dissolves competiion, innovation and demand. ACA reduces states to vassals.

I have heard nothing from any tea party member even Bachmann on this purge. . One nomination for Newt for Speaker i read No second.

I personally called and talked to my congressman, Jason Chaffetz, right after the election about this very subject and getting rid of Boehner. I was told, basically, there would be retaliation if anything occurred, that there was only one week before caucus elections, and that that was not enough time to challenge them. Well, I hope and pray he will stand up, as he has in the past, and do something. I do not feel like continuing to vote Republican with things like this taking place. And, what Kevin McCarthy did to the GOP in California in reapportionment, cost us several congressmen in California. I hope he is happy. Get rid of all three of them, and take McConnell with them.
