The Great Benghazi Butt-Fumble – If The US State Dept Were An NFL Franchise

Incompetent People, Like Evil Ones, Ultimately Kill The Ones That Rely On Them

Sometimes professional sports provide us the perfect metaphor for the utterly Darwinist and unfair world into which we all are hurled at birth. Those who do well, work together. They go all-in like brothers-at-arms and never accept less than the best. We can watch what transpires for the rest below.

The end result of such tomfoolery is loss of one’s status and livelihood. Results matter, money talks, bull-bleep runs the marathon. You must deliver if you want the pay-wad. If you loaf, you learn the hard way what St. Paul meant in 2 Thessalonians (3:10). That is what is right. That is what is good in life. On the other end of the spectrum we get the US State Department.

Mark Sanchez’s butt-fumble resulted in a defeat in a high-profile sporting event. Nobody died. Nobody outside of a Vegas Gambling House lost their livelihood. Yet Sanchez was punished for his clown-show screw-ups and serves as a warning you can point to when you want your own children to get their defecation back into sequence and do things carefully and effectively.

The Benghazi Butt-Fumble was no laughing matter. The fumbles on this play didn’t just end the playoff hopes for a team of overpaid professional athletes. Four people died, ten more left in the meat wagon and our nation was rendered a laughingstock. Yet nobody is getting fired. Nobody is even getting demoted after this raging hemorrhage of a fuster-cluck. The autopsy for this unmitigated failure follows below.

The mandatory State Department internal inquiry into the deadly Sept. 11 terror attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, slams bureaucrats for “grossly inadequate” security but says that poor leadership could not be punished under department regulations.

Imagine what the New York daily newspapers would say if the NY Jets ownership had the following to say. “Last Monday against a losing Tennessee Titans franchise that has already started cleaning out it’s lockers and shopping for Christmas, we gave up a 94 Yard touchdown run to a sub-par has-been of a running back due to poor defensive planning and a total lack of communication and effort on the field. Then with the game completely on the line, we turned the ball over on last three possessions. But internal team regulations wouldn’t let us hold our starting QB accountable for the fact that he can’t walk and chew gum without falling over and getting the gum in his (bleeping) mustache.” You don’t have to imagine. I’m sure you’ve all rented Escape From New York.

So why do we put up with this from our Federal Government. How did we reelect this pathetic platoon of munchkin-punching mongoloids? How bad was Benghazi (even for Buffalo Bills fans laughing at my highlight clips)?

The report blames inadequate security at the mission on “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels” of State Department headquarters, where officials turned down repeated requests from diplomats on the ground for more security, both at the embassy in Tripoli and in Benghazi. The failures, at State’s Diplomatic Security and Near Eastern Affairs Bureaus in Washington, left the diplomatic post with security “that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place,” the report states.

All right! That does it!

RANT We may not have effective leadership at the State Dept. They may not listen to their ambassador when tells them Pre-Modern barbarians are trying to (BLEEPING) KILL HIM! This may be because of management deficiencies (at senior levels even) and because of the fact that our security personnel went ON STRIKE BEFORE THE ATTACK and we didn’t do Jack to fix this situation. But we wouldn’t want to, you know, FIRE anybody. That would cause too much butt-hurt. People’s resumes would look bad. You know, like Chris Stevens’ resume – now that he’s dead and you have to DIG HIM THE (BLEEP) UP for an interview you troglodytic schmucks! RANT OFF

America will die as a nation if our government is this incompetent and unwilling to properly take responsibility and punish crappy performance. The butt-covering might as well be shovels of dirt thrown on the grave of a once great nation. This will kill us regardless of the ideology or policy being attempted. Incompetent people, like evil ones, ultimately kill anyone who has to rely on them. If the US government were even being run with the professionalism of a losing NFL franchise, heads would roll in condign fashion. This is why government should be trusted to actually govern something as infrequently as possible.

The Washington Post today characterized this as an “independent investigation.” You are right, it was an “internal investigation.” And a whitewash. Pathetic.

Repairman…good article. However, I have so many questions about this thing…it puzzles me that this deal came down to the State Department. Wait until Billy Boy finds out that his wife was blamed for the entire mess. Uh oh…Obama…not good for you. But…I digress. The White House…first last and always is responsible for this mess. They are the umbrella. So…Susan Rice…out there with a story about Muslims being victims of some video. That was not at the behest of the State Department. Then I hear that it was their intel…you mean the UN Ambassador was the only one receiving intel? Ludicrous. Then Hildabeast comes out with the same dog and pony show…the video. Obama even plays up the video…AFTER HE KNEW IT WASN’T, i.e., the UN Speech. There are so many holes in this story…there just about isn’t a story. Then we focus on Petraeus…and his affairs…maybe he was doing something else while the incident occurred. NEVER HEARD ONE BLEEPING THING from Panetta’s office…Secretary of Defense. One would assume (what a logical word) that his office would have seen the live feed from the drones…would have gotten the calls for help…through some subset of the Defense Department. It naturally follows that the Navy Seals would have been under the Defense Department…but not one mention of Panetta. Then Hildabeast conveniently gets sick so she can’t testify before Congress….boy…she must really have some bug to be sick two weeks.

Where is Obama during all this time…campaigning. We are supposed to swallow this fairy tale as if it were the truth and hold no one accountable. Just think Tricky Dick listened to the DNC…and he was going to be impeached. Our government allows four people to die…knowing that they had a seven hour window to save them and nobody comes. WOW…and we wonder about our military’s morale..ha. Our government ALLOWED THOSE PEOPLE TO DIE…END OF DISCUSSION. What crime comes to mind for all of you?

America is too busy to demand answers….they are either frightened of their future or too self-absorbed. Our representatives are guarding their wallets…they no longer represent the people, excepting a few. Our Chief Justice re-wrote Obamacare so that he could rationalize it while he put the FINAL NAIL in the coffin of America.

HEY…BOB WOODWARD…is this a big enough story for you? Watergate was…what the heck do you think this is?

Three State Department officials have resigned in the wake of the Benghazi report today. They are Eric Boswell, the Asst Secretary for Diplomatic Security and his Deputy, Charlene Lamb, who was the State Dept official who received and denied the requests for additional security from officials in Libya. The third official is not identified but is said to be from the Department of Near Eastern Affairs.

You might expect it would be the Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs. However, this position has been vacant since the AS Jeffrey Felton (or Fenton) resigned at the end of May 2012 to take up a position in the UN Secretariat. There is an Acting AS, but it’s obvious that this circumstance added to the lack of oversight and focus on Libya and security.

The failure to appoint someone to fill this position is yet another disastrous move by Sec Clinton, easily the worst Secretary of State in modern times. Obviously she and Obama wanted to avoid an opportunity for Senators, especially Republicans, to question Obama’s Middle Eastern policies during confirmation hearings. There was a Presidential campaign going on, you know!

The Pickering group was not tasked with evaluating the actions of other agencies, the CIA, the White House, the NSC, the Defense Dept, but rather to review whether the policies regarding security were followed and whether those policies are the correct ones (answers, no and no). That would be different kind of investigation, not a bureaucratic exercise as this was. Hopefully there will be a Congressional special committee to pursue this.
