Lisa Jackson forced out of EPA.

Ostensible reason:

[Lisa] Jackson, 50, a chemical engineer by training and a mom of two teenagers, offered no reason for her resignation other than saying she’s ready for “new challenges, time with my family and new opportunities to make a difference.” She said she was leaving the EPA “confident the ship is sailing in the right direction.”

Actual reason:

This month, at the prodding of congressional Republicans, the EPA’s inspector general said he was opening an inquiry into Jackson’s use of a secondary e-mail account for official business. She said she had the account — named “Richard Windsor” after the name of her dog and her former home in Windsor Township, N.J. — because her public e-mail address was well known.

This is what we call a “stealth” catastrophic meltdown: Jackson’s ability to function in DC effectively cratered as soon as this came out, anyway.  A pity that the Media won’t destroy this woman’s reputation for the way that she hypocritically  contravened good-government transparency, but at least she’s going to be gone.  And good riddance.

Hi ho the witch is gone, the witch is gone! Now we have to be afraid of her replacement, unless of course this is a Benghazi gov’t employee bait and switch. Good riddance is right if it holds (crossing my fingers). Ii sure don’t want to see her at DOE!

  • bobmark

Please don’t let her crawl back under a rock, Oversight needs to subpoena ALL her emails and impound her hard drives before she leaves office, no warning, no appointment. Also need to subpoena the IT guys to find out just how many email addresses she and the rest of her staff, and all the staff of all the agencies for that matter, are/were using. I find it impossible to believe that she was the only one doing this. There are laws about this sort of thing and “the most transparent administration in history” needs to be held accountable.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. But never fear leftists, The Liar-Whiner-Blamer in Chief will find another flaming Watermelon to stick in there. That is, Green on the outside and Red on the inside.

It is breathtaking how lawless the members of this administration are.

  • redheart

    Most opaque, corrupt regime ever.

  • rjhfl

Why do we even bother to have laws which are never enforced on our royal political class?

  • ss396

Are you sure about her being driven out of office due to this illegal email account? There was a long article in the Houston Chronicle this morning paying tribute to her exemplary service in the face of Republican hostility. It didn’t say anything about her being driven from office…

All of the best evidence is gone and weeks ago everyone else at EPA with involvement scrubbed what they had also.
I would like to see prosecutions in every manner possible. Will not happen under Holder.

This fails to answer one big question, who will replace her and how much worse will they be?

  • earlgrey

Who would really expect them to say that.

Hey even people that are forced into early retirement get a nice little cover story to give them a little dignity on their way out the door.

  • lobovnvmc

If you are talking about a MSM paper what do you expect. They are not going to tell you the truth. Your clue should have been that they were paying tribute to her for her ‘exemplary service’.

  • ss396

I guess my sarcasm did not come across very well.

It was actually a reprint of the AP story, which has since been picked up, well, everywhere. And yes, though the Houston Chronicle is in deep red territory, it is severely lefty.

Funny, isn’t it, how Geithner, Clinton, and Penetta all telegraphed their departure, whereas Jackson just suddenly announces it and makes it effective ASAP-ly – but our dear friends in MSM don’t question it. I sense much stupid among today’s press, with a thick overlay of obsequious fawning.

The way I look at it, is one crook down and a bunch to go. The Republicans should take apart the EPA and investigate fully, then defund most of it.

  • OhioHistorian

They are so Democrats and their socialist allies can go after Republicans. For example, see the following for a summary of the emails that were gone after by the 2008 Congress at the close of the Bush administration. They were still even trying to get info on the US Attorneys fired by Bush 8 years before! Guess how much luck Issa will have with F&F. http://www.democrats.com/subpoenas

The problem with getting rid of Jaxson is that we will undoubtedly get someone worse…..
