Barack Obama’s oh-so-diverse ‘Senior Advisors.’

Wow, but that’s a lot of white guys. Please note that the picture below is from the White House’s own official Flickr account, which means that not only is calling them ‘senior advisors’ fair (I’m quoting the White House, after all); it indicates that nobody in that shop saw that picture and said Wow, but that’s a lot of white guys.

I know that it may be somewhat surreal that somebody from the party that aspires to be truly color-blind is noting that the folks from the party that makes a fetish out of ‘diversity’ is in fact kind of top-heavy with white guys, but come on. This is just embarrassing. The Democrats can’t find five, six women with sufficient knowledge of our current fiscal situation to advise the President? – Or, worse, did they, and the President just can’t find some way to work with them? After all, as both Instapundit and the Washington Free Beacon note, this too-candid shot of the President’s ‘senior advisors’ is perfectly compatible with an organizational atmosphere where women are hired less often, and paid less money.

But then, economic equality is not exactly the hallmark of the Left’s application of feminist thought. It is… interesting, the way that the Democratic party’s policies towards ‘helping’ women seems to be almost obsessively defined in terms of female genitalia…

    Exactly, Tim, he probably makes them call him “Massa”. But seriously, the truth is that his Muslim tendencies require that he really can’t have too many women around. He’s very insecure about women and Michelle keeps him on a tight leash. The wimpy men will put up with her stuff; lefty activist women would probably call her out.
    The other point to make is I’ll bet none of those guys has any worthwhile private sector experience, unless Goldman Sachs, a government subsidy, counts. Probably a bunch of Harvard pie in the sky types who have never seen dirt on their shoes.
    God help us for four more years.

    Muslim tendencies? This is nonsense and exactly why the Republican party will continue to have problems with minorities with this attitude.

    It’s incredibly frustrating when I see Democrats demagogue Republicans as beeing “old white young guys,” when the Democratic establishment/leadership is basically just “sometimes slightly less old, occasionally not white, and still mostly guys” as well.

    But while there are thousands of things to criticize Democrats and their relationship to racial minorities, and how the welfare state (and resistance to anything resembling support of family values) they support ultimately just entraps minorities and prevents them from obtaining true economic mobility. Until conservatives stop using language like “Muslim tendencies” — until we stop talking like idiots about it, basically — we will lose every argument.

    One of the reasons why my handle is “eisenhowerliberal” is because Eisenhower won 30% of the black vote in his elections. Imagine if a Republican today was capable of winning 30% of the black vote? Every election would be a landslide.

    It would probably be an empty room if only those WH Advisors with real private sector business experience were shown.
