Breaking: Hilda Solis has resigned as Secretary of Labor.

Pretty much out of nowhere: as of an hour ago CNN was reporting that the White House was touting Hilda Solis as a mark of its diversity.

Mind you, they were doing so as part of a post about how Barack Obama’s Cabinet is becoming, and I quote CNN here, ‘a boys club.’ At any rate, this was and is very much a surprise, so there are two questions to ask:

  1. Did Hilda Solis resign, or was she pushed? Or is she running like blazes before the revelations detonate?
  2. What white guy will Barack Obama pick as her replacement? – Because it probably will be one. Philip Klein suggests that the President should not waste our time this go-round and just nominate Dick Trumka; while that would be a mistake, it does have the virtue of essential honesty.

This is going to be an interesting few weeks.

    Definitely will be a union crony. Maybe one of the illegitimate NLRB members once SCOTUS says their appointments were in violation of the appointments clause.

    Let’s hope he appoints someone that will cause a special election, Maybe someone on the house Education and Workforce Committee and someone on the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions. Maybe David Loebsack of IA-2, because we can win that seat in a special election. This is good news lets just pray it gives us an opening to win a special election.

    She was probably afraid of being brutalized by labor thugs like Trumka. Labor and labor leaders have a bad track record with women and minorities.

    Hi, ho, another witch is gone! Dropping like flies now- yippee! And the Trumpka suggestion is great- why beat around the bush plus he probably already has an office at the WH given the amount of time he spends there. Again, why is he there for the gun control task force? At least we’d know who we’re dealing with upfront unlike some of the other closet cabinet socialist/marxists that were uncovered after the fact.

    Holder I hope. He hinted he was going to leave soon and can’t wait for the door to him hit you know where. The good news is that BO’s next appointments will get a lot more scrutiny this go-round compared to his first term…one hopes.

    He needs to appoint a woman, and since she doesn’t have need to battle Rahm for a while, how about Karen Lewis? She’s a perfect fit for the Obama administration.

    Democrat union racists have no trouble hiding in plain sight, either. They walk freely among the union rank and file who comprise 35% of the Democrat vote, while hypocrites like Obama continue to embellish and distort the record on racism among Republicans.
