Seven Out of Ten Americans Choose the Convenience of Abortion

Inconvenient Existences Just Don’t Count For as Much

Seven Out of Ten Americas Agree We Should All Just Lighten Up and Have a Cheeseburger.

Seven Out of Ten Americas Agree We Should All Just Lighten Up and Have a Cheeseburger.

Without a strong central values system guiding a society, it becomes focused on the individual, which thrusts individuals into competition with one another and deprives them of any larger identity, purpose or context. The result is a society composed of people acting for personal pleasure, which leads them to neglect others and their own families, and abuse each other out of aggressive competition for social status. Modern society is the antithesis of health.

Brett Stevens, Amerika.org

The issue of abortion offers a prime example of where the Modern Liberal’s solipsistic self-entitlement runs roughshod over the health and safety of others. It’s nice being able to get rid of a headache. It’s empowering to know another person’s needs can’t weigh you down or even make you break stride. Nearly seven out of ten Americans agree when they are asked if abortion should be legal in most cases. Wouldn’t be good if we could all stop being judgmental? The lovely and epistemologically brilliant Mary Elizabeth Williams explains to us all just how complicated real life gets for selfish people below.

Here’s the complicated reality in which we live: All life is not equal. That’s a difficult thing for liberals like me to talk about, lest we wind up looking like death-panel-loving, kill-your-grandma-and-your-precious-baby storm troopers. Yet a fetus can be a human life without having the same rights as the woman in whose body it resides. She’s the boss. Her life and what is right for her circumstances and her health should automatically trump the rights of the non-autonomous entity inside of her. Always.

Well there you go. Not all life is equal. Ostengropenfuhrer Heydritch had a point! Planned Parenthood does too!*

You can’t let inconvenient people get in the way of the future!** Heck, the moral idiot quoted above doesn’t even think they should get in the way of an entertaining Saturday night. Her circumstances always trump the rights of the baby she carries. Always. The rights of that mother are far too valuable to allow concern over the health and the welfare of the child get in the way of her chosen lifestyle.

A lot of people look askance at the critique from The Alternative Right that it really is Liberalism that makes Modern Society so detestably and immutably evil. Even intelligent people, who are far too grounded in their adulthood to have any acceptable excuse to be liberal, sell us excuses for it because it is easier than changing. Walter Russell Mead swears that Liberalism 5.0™ will be grounded in the wonderful principals of The Glorious Revolution. This reminds me of people who think the next version of Marxism (version 125M.0 if you number them by body-count) will get the kinks all worked out. They roll their eyes and tut-tut when someone like Brett Stevens tells us the following.

Modern society is based on this notion of putting the individual first. It makes people happy, in the short-term. The problem is that in the long-term it deprives them of a context in which their actions could be meaningful, like culture, shared values, a goal or even nature itself. They are imprisoned within themselves.

But that is where we are now. Abortion is far easier to do than actually raising children. And don’t think I only blame the women for this sort of thinking. A certain execrable class of men just *love* being able to tell their latest mark. “It’s OK Baby. I’m totally into letting women choose.*** In Modern, Liberal Society, you just have to do what’s quick, convenient and what feels good.

So let’s speculate where we’re all headed with the brand new and spiffier Liberalism 5.0™. Oh wait, we don’t have to. Show ‘em what they win with The Glorious Revolution, Dom Pardo. Oxford University shows us how wonderfully pneumatic Liberalism 5.0™ is going to be for us all.

The article, entitled “After-birth abortion: Why should the baby live?”, was written by two of Prof Savulescu’s former associates, Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva. They argued: “The moral status of an infant is equivalent to that of a fetus in the sense that both lack those properties that justify the attribution of a right to life to an individual.”

As long as the world remains Liberal, it’s just going to continue getting Newer and Braver each and every day.

*-Back-of-the-envelope math suggests that Planned Parenthood made their point about 8 or 9 times more effectively than Heydritch made his.
**-Um, demographically speaking, they are the future.
***-It doesn’t take Wernher Von Braun to figure out which “choice” this cheese ball will be in favor of making the nanosecond he gets told the woman he seduced is now carrying an additional passenger.

99% of those who favor abortion are OPPOSED to the death penalty. Go figure.

“All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Orwell satirized this leftist thinking decades ago in Animal Farm. We now – I will make the claim again – officially live inside of a satire!

Except this is not funny at all! The inability to think logically about one’s claims has led to the cancer of solipsism, which is eating America and the planet alive right now.

Individualism must be tempered by the reality of the other person’s existence. The great irony is that leftists are usually against individualism, and want to push the collective, unless individualism applies to sexual behavior.

What is a collective other than a gang of individuals. If one person walks up to us and starts yelling “F— You!”, we suggest he visit a headshrinker. When 10,000 do this, they get prompt customer service – regardless of how rediculous their demands may be.

  • Ausonius

You describe too many members of the Democrat Party right now!

The gang mentality ostracizes anyone not believing the same thing: showing moral individualism against the group while one is a member can become dangerous.

Most of them also oppose euthanizing pets as well. Many of them use the argument that all babies do is “eat, sleep, and defecate”. That’s all pets do as well, but babies grow into human beings, pets don’t.

They try and twist the argument that you can’t be against abortion but for capital punishment but there is a difference between the two. One is “justice”, the other is “convenience”. It may be inconvenient to be pregnant, but in most cases (except for rape and incest), you chose to participate in the behavior that got you pregnant but you’re taking away the choice of that baby.

The murderers and rapists didn’t allow their victims a choice, very similar to an aborted baby, isn’t it? Murderers and rapists get a trial in front of judge and jury, the baby only gets the “mother” and an abortion doc. Murderers and rapists get defense lawyers paid for by the state, babies don’t. Murderers and rapists get 3 meals a day while they wait for decades to go through their appeals, babies don’t get an appeal. Rapists and murderers get a last meal and after it’s all done they get a box and a rock, babies get none of that, they end up in the garbage. If an execution is botched (rarely), the sentence is usually commuted. If an abortion is botched the baby is usually left to die, alone, in a cold room (thanks to Obama on that one).

Salon would have abortion clinics run like sandwich shops: go in, kill your baby, punch your “Frequent Diers” card and be home to watch MSNBC. They don’t tell how many women end up with emotional distress, depression and attempts at suicide. Because of Salon and entities like them, they push this as an method of birth control and some callous, self-centered adult children use this so they can go out and sleep around with anyone. If they get pregnant, just have another abortion.

This is sick behavior but look at the people who indulge in it: selfish, arrogant, egotistical, conceited. They are adults who never grew up, people who avoid responsibility and expect the government to take care of them. They have no morale compass. Now that may be the fault of their own parents but it’s too late for most of them to be taught how to be a responsible human being. The only place we can start is with our own children. I strongly believe that if the left hadn’t had marginalized religion, cast God out of everything, then we wouldn’t have all the Columbines and Sandy Hooks and that the George Tillers of the world would be out of business.

Roe v. Wade, decided in mid-1973, was the inevitable result of the feminist revolution that began in the 1960s.

That revolution, in turn, was the result of well-educated women rebelling against a male-dominated society in which women truly did play, often quite willingly, second-class roles.

Roe v. Wade was not decided by women; rather by six old white guys and one old black guy, who were probably hen-pecked and guilt-ridden re women’s rights.

The Roe decision contains a terrific contradiction: It refers to the pregnant woman who aborts as the “mother.” If she’s the mother, of course, she’s killing her baby. Harry Blackmun did not say this, of course. He could not bring himself to talk about the pregnant woman; he called her the mother. If he had written about the pregnant woman he would have had to write about the life inside her. He didn’t want to deal with that.

Roe v. Wade was an inevitable overshoot. It played right into the hands of a self-indulgent generation and their successors.

We need to continue to support the Republican-controlled state legislatures and their attempts to eliminate abortion. Today a New Mexico lawmaker proposed a bill that will charge women who get an abortion after being raped for tampering with evidence — http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2013/01/24/proposed-new-mexico-law-would-send-rape-victims-who-abort-pregnancies-to-prison-for-tampering-with-evidence/.

This is exactly the kind of legislation we need to support. Rape is unfortunate but punishing a conceived child by aborting him does not cause two wrongs to make a right. We need to continue to support our state legislatures in their attempts to pass laws like these and to defund abortion factories like Planned Parenthood. It’s the only way that abortion will finally be just a disgusting footnote in this great country’s history.

    and vice versa.

  • inthemiddle20

I would stay far away from that destructive type of legislating. Incriminating someone for aborting a fetus brought about through forced intercourse is terrible. Consenting adults knocking boots is one thing, but making a woman have a child from her rapist takes away her freedom to say no, again. I think rape as a valid exception in abortion cases. Rep. Brown should spend more time constructing stronger rape prevention policies in her state.
