Good column, I read it this morning. When your enemy is on a self-destructive path, the best thing you can do is clear out of their way.

    Congrats Erick! Much better venue.

    Erick,

I’m a professional writer. I’ve found Strunk and White to be a good friend.

    Congrats! Nice article!

I appreciate the simple sentences and the clear message.

Erick, you give the Times way too much credit. I would never punish my bird by lining her cage with that tripe.

Nice article EE, but I was hoping to SEE you on FNC. I hope the Dems take the NYT’s advice and yours, but that Reid is shrewd and an expert at protecting his Party…lessons we never seem to learn since the tactics go against our grain, but still…Hastert rule?
    .
On gun control, Levin said it best: demand a vote on Feinstein’s bill in both chambers now and put this behind us to deal with the real fiscal problems. Let the votes be counted and we’ll see how absurd her bill really is and the lack of support.
    .
Again, congrats on your new job!

Oh, I think the Times will continue to publish the paper version, even if they have to get an “Amtrak” subsidy from the government monthly in order to do so. Mark my words, Newsweek will dry up an blow away like Dracula’s ashes within two years. The only thing left of it will be the Daily Beast, which purchased it some time back. Within the next two years, even the Newsweek title font from the front page will be considered an antique.

“…but I was hoping to SEE you on FNC…” Hey, there is a very well done photograph beside the text . . . Give FNC time, they don’t want to use him all up in the first week.

It was also the week that President Obama disbanded his toothless Jobs Council and that it was reported the economy shrunk in the final month of 2012.

Re: The accuracy of the Times’ board–don’t forget “The Big Lie.” They are still promoting it, it’s just a different lie–”Obama is doing a great job.”

With a name like Daily Beast, who needs Dracula’s ashes! I never liked that name but didn’t know they purchased the loser Newsweek. Always full of timely info rickbull- thanks!

It helps that my wife was a subscriber–notice the use of the word “was.”

Well, Kucinich *is* a former Congressman, so they ponied him right into the O’Reilly Factor, but when we get Erick elected to the Senate from Georgia next year . . . let’s just say he’ll have a bit more pull.

Erick has said he wouldn’t, but he’s got a wide open opportunity coming in 2014, and we need a lot more like him in Washington.

No need to apologize. They still have subscriptions available for full access to their crap on the web, but neither of us are willing to pay for a web-based magazine that doesn’t come to the mailbox, especially when most content on the web is free and paid for by advertising–and is generally much better quality reporting.

A very nice “Do it Dems, I dare you”, article Erick. Not sure they get subtle though.

I agree, except that this part scares me:
“The House Republicans will never go along for the ride.”
