FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Barack Obama v. Disappointed Iowan Sixth Graders.

Mr. President? I’d like to introduce you to some of the American people that you are harming with your petulant closing of the White House to tours.

(video link here)

“The White House is our house! Please let us visit!”

Two things about that:

  1. It’s true. More to the point: the White House is not actually Barack Obama’s house. It’s assigned housing that comes with the job, and his employers will expect Barack Obama to be fully moved out of it at the end of his current contract.
  2. Is this really what passes for a suitable opponent for the President, these days? Is Barack Obama really reduced to picking fights with sixth graders? …Embarrassing, that is. Embarrassing for me; the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy deserves a better class of opponent than this.

Moe Lane (crosspost)

PS: The Easter Egg roll is still going on, by the way. Largely because that’s traditionally been a good opportunity for the President to get some warm, fuzzy photo ops in.

Does this mean Andy Stern has to cancel his White House tours too?

As well as one for republicans with an eye on our money and our resources. I would like to see polling on essential services the public thinks necessary. I bet public monments, museums and national treasures are at the top of the list along with parks. In other words whomever shut down tours, parks, monumnents does so arbitrarily.

The Dept education, in contrast to national sites most of all love and want to visit is not necessary to the American public and no one would miss it but the highly paid employees.

Washington monument and White House are not the personal property of Barack Obama. He has more personal stamp ownership of DOEd.

Obama likes to talk about keeping the “full faith and credit” of the United States — what about keeping commitments to kids and families who have been told they’ve reserved a tour slot months and advance and maybe already booked hotels and plane fare?

They can’t even manage to honor the commitments they’ve already made?

Aside from the fact Obama’s last golf trip would more than finance a
White House tours – all year, apparently the First Lady has a lot more staff than previous First Ladies- does she really need them all? – and apparently the guy hired to watch the first dog gets paid six figures a year — surely they could trim his salary a bit…

    Sixth graders are his speed.

Just as long as this is a GIANT step to slowing his dream of a Democratic Senator and a Democratic House. This man always knows what he wants and as long as the parrots play along they will be realized. We now can attack the parrots. What are they thinking? They are the reasons the kids can’t visit.

Obama is such a coward. Bullying 6th graders so their parents will bow down and support Marxism.
You want to know why things are picking up a little bit in the private sector? It’s because we know this flaming idiot and his fanboys will actually be gone soon.

Also- it’s being reported that the White House tours is the ONLY cut so far to the White House budget. That confirms that they did NOT carefully go through and look at every possible way to get to $24 million in cuts — they immediately and completely cut the one part of it that provided something on which some of the public was, in some way, counting.

I wonder what the Secret Service would do if some kid beaned the bully with a hard-boiled egg.

Your opinion on the matter is pretty hilarious. The president, like it or not, is the administrator of the Republic. If he doesn’t want the White House open to the public is need not be. This is something Republicans need to come to understand the next time we have one in the White House. Money being allocated does not have to be spent. Want to lower the deficit? Don’t spend more than is needed to perform the basic functions. White House tours are nice but they are not something we need.

You are so ready to plant your face in Obama’s crotch, you missed the point of this post and the others like it. This is nothing but a BS ploy by the president so he can come back and say ” I told you it would hurt” even though he is the first one who wanted the sequester. It is odd he shuts down the tours yet finds enough money to pay for his golf outings, his campaign outings, his vacations, etc.

Pull your lips away for a sec and get with the program.

The White House, other than the living quarters and actual office space, have historically been open to Americans since the building was first occupied. The White House isn’t Barack Obama’s personal “pad”, it belongs to the American people. That he would close it, and that you could be bothered to defend the indefensible, speaks volumes.

It ain’t his house Sparky, it’s our our house and the people deserve to see it. Also, you aren’t gop you are PFStupid.
