Barack Obama to double down on sequester stupidity and cancel Easter Egg Roll?

I am starting to conclude that Barack Obama is simply not as bright as he thinks that he is:

The next casualty of sequestration could be the Easter Bunny – at least according to a White House e-mail that recently landed in Capitol Hill inboxes.

The White House warned Congress that budget cuts could nix the annual Easter Egg Roll for kids, which is planned for April 1.

Neither, apparently, is White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, who spent Friday absolutely pooh-poohing (with a heavy dose of condescension) the idea that the Easter Egg Roll could ever be canceled:

“Well actually, [Fox News'] Jenna [Lee], again, if you did a little reporting, you’d know that the Easter Egg Roll is open for a lot of military families,” Carney said. “It’s paid for by the sale of those eggs that come out as well as from donations on the outside. It’s a totally different budget. These are apples and oranges.”

April Fools!

No, seriously, this is dumb. The American people were already not buying into the idea that the White House had to cut its tours because of those dastardly Republicans; I’m missing how the administration can legitimately think that this idea will work better. There is a rule in politics: Do Not Make Small Children Cry. No money in the budget for the Easter eggs, Mister President? Then stop playing golf. There. Use that money to fund the precocious moppets and the sack races.

PS: What makes this really delicious is that, prior to Barack Obama, the Easter Egg Roll was a strictly-local event designed to show Washingtonian families a nice time. But Barack Obama wanted to suck up to families nationwide, so he changed that… which means that now he’s potentially offending parents nationwide, instead of parents from an area that would vote for Medhi Ouazzani himself* if he ran as a Democrat. Karma. It’s what’s for dinner.

*I know, I know: this is going to be a hideously dated reference by, say, June.

    The 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum has released criminals into the streets of America and you can bet Americans will be hurt by them, tries to stop white house tours, now he lashes out at our little ones. This is insane, this man is insane! We sent how much to our enemies to help them out? How many lavish vacations have obama and obama taken? How much did they cost? How much are the illegals in this nation costing us? This is insanity and worse yet all we do is make comments!

    Google “malignant narcissist” and you will find this quite insane man is described to the “T”. One day he will, to use a word which the 6th grader Feinstein used incorrectly, implode. I can’t wait for that day. Keeping the pressure on, pointing out all his faults, no matter how little, will hasten that day.

    That explains why he won’t show us his College grades.
    He either lost them or can’t remember where they are.
    Never the less, i believe they were pretty bad due to
    heavy drug use. I’d be surprised if he even remembers
    much from his college years.

    If we are to apply the same reasoning given for ending WH tours, the Secret Service will definitely be on duty to protect POTUS & FLOTUS during the egg hunt so surely the Secret Service will have to be thrown under the bus once again.

    I’d still like to see his college transcripts. What is exactly
    that he’s hiding. If he’s such a genius, prove it. He’s already
    Potus so why hide his brilliance? My guess is it doesn’t
    exist. Just average, if that. What a coward.

    Right. Its causing SO much harm if an Easter egg hunt doesn’t happen (which, I might add, it will happen). But try to pass reasonable regulations on guns (which will kill 30,000 or so Americans this year) and Obama is a communist. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but “the public” (me) has learned the exact meaning of the word “malice” over the past 12 years or so by watching what Republicans have done, specifically, 2 middle eastern wars, threats of government shut downs, anti-women, anti-gay, anti-hispanic, anti-black rhetoric, yeah, we get it, Republican’s have defined “malice” quite well.
