Ann Kirkpatrick (D, Arizona-01) tries to run against #obamacare. :pause: Umm…
In 2010, Ann Kirkpatrick was a key vote for Obamacare. This is a thing that happened. It, in fact, cost her the 2010 election.
Freshman Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D-Ariz.) will vote for the healthcare reform bill that will soon hit the House floor.
Kirkpatrick’s support is a boost for President Barack Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who are trying to corral 216 votes to clear the legislation through the lower chamber.
Now she’s pretending that she’s some sort of anti-Obamacare whistle-blower. It doesn’t get to work that way for the Congresswoman, and the NRCC is quite right to call her out on her hypocrisy. Here’s the truth: Kirkpatrick supported Barack Obama’s healthcare law; she got booted out of office in 2010 because of her support; and she got herself back into office (while still standing by her vote) in 2012 thanks largely to an open seat and a redrawn district. Only now it’s 2014, and the law is blowing up precisely the way that people (read: “me“) said that it was going to. How many chances to get this right does the woman seriously expect to get?

PS: As to warning people about the site… shoot, I did that back in March of 2013. So I guess by Ann Kirkpatrick’s own logic I’m more laudably prescient than she was on this. …Which is true, but that shouldn’t be the case. I don’t have the same level of access to policy materials that a Member of Congress has; there’s something wrong when stuff that is obvious to me isn’t to them.
