Emperor Barack I On His High Horse
And The Horse You Rode In On, Mr. President!
Ah, the rhetorical horse-trading that just took place at The National Prayer Breakfast. It was an event where good people of faith went to be maliciously slandered by His Majesty Barack I.
Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.
He then had the unmitigated gall to uncork this passage without the slightest lilt of hipster irony to season his atonal drone.
And if, in fact, we defend the legal right of a person to insult another’s religion, we’re equally obligated to use our free speech to condemn such insults
Redstate has covered the theology* at work here quite abundantly. We also spoke of the historical aliteracy. The implicit insult to Islam we handled as well. But what does all of this doesn’t do is drill down into the muck at the core of this man we elected President.
This guy telling others to get off their high horse flies his family on vacation using Air Force One. The guy telling others to remember the Inquisition has ordered 390 drone strikes and killed over 2,400 people. He used this word humility repeatedly in his remarks. It was like he was doing the Find/Replace function on Microsoft Word to get the number of “I’s” back down to an acceptable count.
“Internationally, I’m proud of the fact that we’ve responsibly ended two wars,”… “I’m proud of saving the American economy,”… “As I said in the State of the Union address…”
I elected to stop before my constant readers got I-sore. The bragging and the utter lack of self-awareness remind me of one of my kids when they behave badly. Just how do we manage to raise people who still act like this in the prime of adulthood?** I’m sure his ideology has something to do with his behavior, but he just told us not to criticize other people’s religious faiths.
So his trite condemnation of people’s religious beliefs and his demands “to get off our high horses” are about what one can expect. Most of us look to God with relief and contemplate the burden cast off of our tired shoulders. The self-adoring egoist looks upon the entire concept of God as an incomprehensible blot. If Barack Obama can’t say to himself “I’ve got this,” he probably doesn’t belief it is anything worth actually having. When he tells the rest of us to get off our high horses, it is only condign we tell him what he can do with the one he rode in on.
*-Brian Williams Christianity! Lol.
**-Chronological adulthood. Sorry for the ambiguity.
