CHARITY DRIVE FOR HANDY, INC.

Broward Republican Executive Committee (BREC) Meeting Monday, June 27th – 7 pm – Featuring Sheriff Al Lamberti as the Keynote Speaker.  BREC Meetings take place at the Sheraton Suites Hotel.  Sign in begins at 6:00 PM and the meeting starts at 7:00 PM.  The Sheraton Suites Hotel is located at 555 NW 62nd St., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 off of the Cypress Creek West exit of I-95.  Come and bring a friend to get involved!  

 

ALSO, WE WILL BE COLLECTING BALLOT PETITIONS FOR CONGRESSMAN ALLEN WEST.  At Our Grand Old Party BBQ, over 400 ballot petitions were collected for his re-election!   

 

Last month, our charity drive for the US MARINES serving in Afghanistan was a huge success!  For this month’s charity drive, see details below. 

  

CHARITY DRIVE FOR JUNE MEETING  

  

Please bring 3 subject spiral notebooks (wide ruled and college ruled – one of each if possible) to fill 250 backpacks for foster care children.

 

The drive this month is in partnership with HANDY, Inc., an award winning non profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1985 to meet the fundamental needs of Broward County’s foster care children and those who have been placed in the care of non-relative and relative caregivers under protective supervision.

  

HANDY provides direct services to children ages birth to 23 years who have been removed from their homes due to domestic violence, substance abuse, physical and/or sexual abuse, and abandonment. For additional questions please contact Heather Moraitis at heathermoraitis@bellsouth.net.

    I like it — you tell people why and how they ought to become a precinct committeemen. Which begs the question: Why don’t other Republican Party county committees “shout from the roof tops” on their web sites the need for Republicans to become voting members of their Party committee — that is, precinct committeemen?

    Answer: Maybe they do not want any new members, especially in light of the fact that, on average, over half of these precinct committeemen slots are vacant and it’s relatively easy to become a precinct committeeman. If conservatives fill up all the empty slots — poof! — now conservatives will have a majority (because, on average, about half of the filled slots are, usually, held by conservatives) and can elect better, more conservative officers and will be in the best position to help Get Out The Vote for the best conservative candidates in the all-important, traditionally-very-low-turnout primary elections.
