MEMBER DIARY

RNC provides YOU a GOTV tool for getting conservative VINOs to the polls. Will you use it?

Have you heard of the “GOP Data Center?”

Have you heard of “GOTV?” It’s not a new cable channel. It’s Get Out The Vote.

“VINOs?” Read on.

Here’s the “main thing”:

To make a long story short, here’s a just over 11 minute video explaining all you need to do to actually make a difference in terms of increasing voter turnout in the November general election. But, it will take some initiative on your part. You’ll have to actually contact your local Republican Party committee. Know how to do that? You are a “member” of the “Republican Party,” no? Or are you? Ever been to a meeting of your local Republican Party “committee?” Do you know the name of your county’s Republican Party “committee?”

Do you know what that all means?

From now until Nov. 6, is not the main thing making sure every Republican and every Republican-leaning voter actually casts a ballot? If that’s the main thing, please ask yourself what you will be doing to VERIFIABLY make that happen.

Not just preaching on the internet to the conservative choir about making it happen. Or preaching to the conservative internet choir about the latest Obama outrage. No, instead, how will you cause, verifiably, one more Republican or Republican-leaning voter to actually cast a ballot. Have you thought out how you will do that?

What will you do that will actually increase voter turnout for our side?

Some background.

Stephen F. Hayes of the Weekly Standard wrote an article a while back explaining, based on exit polls, that about 4 million conservatives decided to “protest” John McCain’s candidacy in 2008 because he wasn’t “conservative enough” for them. How did these intellectual giants achieve their lofty purpose? Either by not casting a vote in the presidential contest or actually voting for Obama. (Sorry, I can’t find my link to Hayes’ article. It exists. Ask him if you don’t believe me.) The result of the “protest” of these conservative intellectual giants who believe we win by losing?” They helped send our country on the destructive path of the Cloward-Piven Strategy.

Way to go!!!

Couple those idiots (who think losing is winning) with the fact that in 2008, nationwide, about 35% of registered Republicans didn’t bother to vote.

Want to change that Republican voter turnout? Want to get conservatives who lean Republican to the polls? Want to do that where you live? In your “political neighborhood?” Your voting precinct? Want to do that with VERIFIABLE results? Are you willing to spend three of four hours of “sweat equity” actually making phone calls and delivering candidate literature to doorsteps where you live?

Or will you just make more videos about the latest Obama outrage? Or go to more rallies about the latest Liar Media outrage. Etc.?

Focus, focus, focus on what matters. Votes. In elections. Focus, focus, focus on getting EVERY POSSIBLE “good person” voter to the polls. No?

If you don’t like this focus, stop reading.

In a moment, I’ll tell you how you can actually make a real difference in changing the outcomes of your local, county, state and national elections.

First, I want to link to a Diary I posted back in March of 2011 about the Redstaters who had identified themselves as actually being “inside” the Republican Party as “voting members” of it (and they know what that means):

http://www.redstate.com/coldwarrior/2011/03/16/whats-the-precinct-committeeman-count-update/

Redstaters: Please let me know if you need to be added to the list.

For Liberty,

ColdWarrior

American Majority Action provides a very good tool that is much, much more powerful than GOP Data Center. It’s called Gravity. Go here to watch Drew Ryun give a short overview:

    http://www.powerofgravity.com/

AMA will license the software to bona fide grass roots conservative groups, such as tea parties, for free. Contact Raz Shafer at razshafer@gmail.com for details. I’m planning on licensing it for a conservative caucus organization I help run and am going to encourage the Arizona Republican legislative district committees to license it as well (although in the case of the LDs, they will have to pay a fee).

Gravity is the kind of tool that the RNC under Michael Steele had promised but never delivered.

    Thank you.

Those interested in Gravity should contact Kasey Ginsberg at gravity@am-action.org

      • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

Those at the Gathering will remember Kasey as the one who taught us all about Pomeranian Huskys.

I am certainly not able to to put together an organization myself, but I am interested in volunteering. How do I find groups that are using this software to offer my time?

Things are moving swiftly it seems.

That’s right. A current U.S. Senator actually appearing in a mailer to endorse Arizona precinct committeemen candidates in a contested precinct race.

    http://seeingredaz.wordpress.com/2012/08/17/snake-oil-salesman-jon-kyl-undermines-conservatives/

Why is he doing this? As the article points out, the PCs elect the party leaders, directly or indirectly. If moderates or conservatives can get a majority of the PC slots filled, then when the legislative district and county and state leadership elections are held after the general election, the side having the majority will end up electing “their” candidates to the officer slots.

As mentioned in the comments to the article, this is the same Jon Kyl who previously took the position that Party committees (legislative district, county, state) should NOT be voting to endorse one Republican candidate over another in a primary election.

Back in 2008, less than one-third of our PC slots in Arizona were filled. Now, after lots of recruiting of conservatives, we’ll have about 52% of the slots filled after the primary election. Will we end up with conservatives or moderates in the officer slots in the legislative district committees, the county committees and the state committee? Well, that will depend in each case how many of the PCs in each LD are conservative or moderate. The elected PCs in the LDs directly elect the LD officers. After the LD elections, then each county holds an annual meeting at which the elected PCs elect the county committee officers. In each LD, the PCs elect one state committeeman for every three PCs they have. I know of one LD that in 2010 was able to elect conservative PCs to every state committeeman slot. After the county elections, then the state committeemen attend the state committee meeting and elect the state committee officers. All of this is explained in the state, county and LD bylaws and the Elections Code.

The reason our RNC is not “conservative enough” is simply because not enough conservatives are “in” the Party in these voting precinct committeeman slots in each precinct in America. With about half of the PC slots vacant, on average, in every state, the Party is “there for the taking” if conservatives would unite and organize locally inside their local legislative district Party committees as PCs. The terminology varies from state to state and every state has unique bylaws.

And those now in power inside these committees generally don’t like newcomers — they like having the power they have just the was it is.

    Thank you.

If you do please make a donation to a canditate is another state. Montana & Florida & Virginia are my top priorities. Or you can travel to the state and join the ground game a week in advance of the election.

I just signed at the county level Republican HQ and if I don’t hear from them this week, I will pick up the phone and call.

Signed the husband up too – hope he doesn’t mind.

What state are you in? Maybe I can help. I recommend you become a “squeaky wheel” — most county committees are staffed by volunteers and things slip through the cracks.

Email me at coldwarrior1978 at gmail dot com if you need help or have any questions.

      Thank you again,

Specifically in Steven LaTourette’s district. Sadly, he is retiring. What I’d really like to do is assist Renacci in defeating Betty Sutton, if he needs it.

If you have any suggestions or contacts, I would welcome them.

More NH GOP State Committee members at the County and City level need to spend more time knocking on doors and making calls. Why should any elected delegate vote for someone for the State Committee in December who isn’t working to deliver the state for Mitt Romney and send a Republican to the Governor’s Office.

GDC tags volunteers as well as VINOs.

Because of you and your tireless schooling about the importance of being a committeeman, I got involved in my local GOP party with the intent of filling the committeeman’s seat. In June of 2011, I studied my state’s SoS website to learn the rules and regs of our county party system. Unfortunately my precinct chair is filled. I still continued to attend meetings and joined the local Repbulican Women. After a couple of month’s, one of our county party officers resigned and I was appointed. According to our by-laws, I’m 2nd to fill the County Chair seat if needed since we don’t have a Vice. I run their website and FB page and I’m heavily involved. And it’s all because of you! Thanks CW!

If I don’t qualify for the list, that’s fine. But I would like to be added to any emails you send out about GOTV, etc. You are the teacher and I’m the student.

You are doing every thing right! Please send me a link to your website and FB page: coldwarrior1978 at gmail dot com.

And, yes, you’re definitely on “the list.”

      Thanks again,

Hey ColdWarrior, good to hear from you in Maricopa County Arizona. The Delaware GOP is broke and unable to help any statewide candidates and the State GOP Treasurer has changed her party designation to Democrat.
We in Sussex County Delaware however are solvent and running hard to keep our county republican. I am running for the position of County Councilman.
Yep, this is the county that is attempting to get rid of the constitutional office of Sheriff. As you might have heard, the republicans of Sussex County Delaware don’t give up easily.
BTW, my chances are excellent for winning this seat.

    My website is: www.ayotteforcouncil.com

doing in your neck of the woods.

I did not know about the disturbing prospect of your county actually considering abolishing the constitutional office of Sheriff. That should be fought at all costs.

Keep us posted here about your experiences!

      Thank you,
      CW

We have sued the County and it is now in Delaware Superior Court and will soon be in the Delaware Supreme Court.

Delaware Constitution Article XV Section 1 States:

The Sheriffs shall be the Conservators of the Peace in the counties in which they reside.

Recently, the Sussex County Council instigated the Representatives in the Delaware General Assembly to introduce legislation to limit the Sheriff to the duties of a paper server with of law enforcement powers. We are prinamarying the culprits.
It will be a hard and long fight but we will win!

While I’m dismayed that again we have a moderate to liberal republican running for the Presidency, I do not consider him a John McCain. I’m still happy I didn’t vote for John McCain. But I will vote for Romney while holding my nose.

While Romney is moderate at best, he at least doesn’t relish sticking knives in my back, at least I haven’t seen it yet.

    1) Take an afternoon to walk through your local retirement community. In my hometown, for example, it was called “Kiwanis Village”. Start at one end, and work your way down… In this particular complex, there were about 45 apartments.

    2) Take campaign literature, or voter guides from the League of Women Voters, or your local county offices with you, and a clipboard and pencil.

    3) Knock on the doors. Tell them your name, and politely inquire if they are aware of the Voting Date (November 6th). Are they a Registered Voter? (–the large majority of Seniors are–) Are they supporting President Obama, or Governor Romney?

    5) Once they respond, be very polite and thank them for their time. If they are supporting Romney, ask them if it is okay if they give you their name, and write down their apartment number. Give them the voter guide, and any information about Senior voting, or absentee or early voting available in their area.

    6) On election day, return to the pro-Romney addresses, and make sure to remind them to vote, and also offer to drive them to the polls, if they are receptive to the offer. If not, you can ask if you can call them a cab, or arrange other transportation. Most often, these older folks are very thankful for the time you have spent with them.

–Remember, this is a lot of work, and it takes up most of a day, including election day itself. But, saving your Republic is a fairly good investment of time…

I’ve already said no vote is a vote for Obama. Someone needs to complete a list of ObamaCare monthly cost estimates from the WaPo software program. Once people see what their payments will be in comparison to what they pay now and remind them to look at what they paid in 2008. Most have no idea and FOX nor other media have covered this in detail. We win votes as people learn they can’t afford ObamaCare plus many small biz’s with 50 or more employees who don’t offer insurance are going to bankrupt. We’ve gotta seize on the information.

day with challengers and judges. Go to your local Rep. headquarters and say you will poll watch on election day. What training you need, they’ll give you (not much) or go to your local tea party, many of which are doing leadershp seminars and sponsoring voter registration and getouthevote promotons for electon day.

We really need cioverage in each polling site in the cities so ACORN in its various vampire disguises cannot show up with busloads of teenagers or the homeless to vote.

In states with same day registration and voting, most require some ID: driver’s licenses, utility bills, rent bills, et. al. and challengers should LOOK at those documents, READ THE DATES, and challenge anything that appears suspicious. Then usually the voter has three days to prove he/she is eliigible.

This will be a tight race and every vote will count. We want them to LEGAL VOTES.
