My Message to Maine’s Senators

As a Floridian, I used the web pages to contact Maine’s US Senators. If their decisions affect me, then dad-gum they are gonna here from me. They claim to belong to the GOP, like me, so I should be able to contact these people who profess to believe in the GOP philosophy of limited government. Here is my message:

Please vote NO on the non-Stimulus bill! Do not give in to bribes. The American people will survive if the government lets us! Release the American people, through tax cuts, to recover. Weare ready if government will get out of the way.

Gorbachev (remember him?) asked British PM  Margaret Thatcher (remember her?) how she made sure the stores had bread to sell. She said “I don’t do anything.” Gorbachev, the Socialist Communist, could not understand how bread existed for everyone in England if the government did nothing.  There’s a good lesson, here, Senator.

There’s another lesson here. You pulldown for topics does not have an option for “Economy”. You know why? Because it is not the US Government’s role to provide the Economy, unless you are in China, Venezuela, and Cuba.

    I have sent dozens of e-mails to each deadbeat from Maine. What is it about Maine? Is it the location, the weather? The Senators from Maine should be ejected from the Republican Party if they vote for this crap.

    with different words to start Chapter Two of his “Basic Economics.” He tells a similar one about Boris Yeltsin being astonished by the “corucopia of consumer goods beyond the imagination of most Soviets… within reach of ordinary citizens [at a Houston supermarket] without standing in line for hours.” It is all the benefit of a price-driven economy.

    The less we tinker with the economy the faster it will right itself.

    I actually emailed every single GOP senator today. Most had the web forms to fill out, which after the first one, (with my Foxfire browser), almost fill themselves in. Two I had to send real emails to, and for one the link didn’t work so I had to do a google search to get to the form. I wrote a short paragraph ahead of time that I pasted into the comments or remarks section on each form. It took me less than 1 hour to contact all of the GOP senators. If the form didn’t have a drop down option for “economy” I used “budget” or “miscellaneous”. Whatever works.

    I also sent multiple emails to some of the senators. You can probably guess, but yes, I just fired off my final three emails to Collins, Snowe, and Specter. I was fairly firm in my comments.

    The more of us that weigh in on this, the better. I also posted the contact info on RedState (see Member Diaries, “Can’t reach the RINOs by Phone?” by Praying) And emailed all my friends I could count on to take action this weekend. At least I can sleep tonight knowing I did everything I can.
