MEMBER DIARY

The “Donald,” the “Mama Grizzly,” and the Establishment GOP

For the life of me, I cannot understand the head scratching of the establishment GOP insiders when they try to wrap their DC infected minds around the “Donald’s” popularity.  It is the same reason for Sarah Palin’s popularity.  The common denominator is this…they FIGHT!

I am no fan of Mr. Trump.  But I marvel at how he handles the media, and make no mistake, the media is in attack mode when they interview him.  He shuts them down!  I am so shocked by the media being backed down by and alleged conservative, I think my eyes and ears are playing tricks on me.

Sarah Palin is a fighter, albeit a radioactive one at that.  She has learned much since running as V.P. with whats-his-name.  I was struck by her speech that she gave in Madison, Wisconsin this past Saturday.  She took no prisoners and pulled no punches.  She was calling out Obama, the mainstream media, the union protestors that were aggressively heckling her, and the establishment GOP in Washington.

She is what we want in Washington, Mr. Trump SOUNDS like what we want in Washington.  I do believe that Sarah Palin is going to run.  I was half expecting her to announce it while speaking in Madison.  I hang my assumption on two words from her speech, “GAME ON!”  We will have to wait and see how this plays out.

The establishment GOP in Washington clearly does not get this.  They think that fighting is about compromise.  In compromise, both parties loose.  One more than the other.  And sorry, the GOP does not know how to compromise without giving the democrats both their arms and legs FIRST!  Congressman Boehner blinked when Obama would not budge on de-funding Planned Parenthood.  Are you fricking kidding me?

Our leaders have to understand that politics as usual is over.  It was over 29 months ago.  The democrats have shown us how far they will go to achieve their agenda.  We are at war.  This is a war for the future of this great country.  Palin knows this and Trump appears to know this.  When will Boehner, and the establishment GOP learn this?

Despite Trump’s clear flaws, Tea Partiers and cosnervatives have embarced them not so much that they approve of his past, but the rest of the field is weak.

I am impressed with Trump’s media savvy and ability to beat down unfriendly interviewers with style. Trump has a fiery personality and media savvy that gives him a teflon quality. Other potential 2012ers would not get away with the things Trump is doing.

Did a search on (donald trump campagn donations)

      Check this website.

      http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2011/02/donald-trumps-donations-to-democrats.html

Some donations to Republicans, but way too many to Democrats.
Do you really think he’s Tea Party material, after all the donations to liberal Democrats.
      I don’t think so.

even the democrats have standards, albeit very low, hence why Trump is trying to run as a republican. Problem is, we have even higher standards and want nothing to do with him. The Tea Party is waiting with tar and feathers for when he walks through the door asking for their support.

pre/early primary polling. I would like to see questions about what these fools think the candidate actually stands for, and my guess would be that you’d need a response labeled something like “Huh?” for most of the candidates, not just TheDonald.

This crap is why, IMO, the only polling that matters is F/U trend until the real issues have been identified and we’re a long way from that.

        From National Review Online

In a new interview, Donald Trump said that he believes the right to privacy exists in the Constitution, and blasted Paul Ryan?s budget as too extreme.

Pair those comments with some newly-circulating quotes of his from recent years praising the stimulus and supporting President Obama, and it becomes clear that Trump?s political conversion may be more recent ? and less complete ? than commonly assumed.

After NBC?s Savannah Guthrie asked if there was a right to privacy in the Constitution, Trump replied ?I guess there is. I guess there is,? adding that he was pro-life.

Trump said he was ?concerned? about Ryan?s deficit plan, citing concerns that the plan would ?tinker too much with Medicare? and harm senior citizens.

?I think Paul Ryan is too far out front with the issue,? Trump said. ?He ought to sit back and relax.?

Asked how he planned to solve the deficit problem without tackling entitlements, Trump said he would do so ?by stopping what?s going on in the world.?

        My highlights.

I’m thinking, with this kind of clear forsight on policy, TheDonald has likely peaked.

          More from NRO’s Corner

This on his basic business practices.

I never understood the adoration of Trump as a businessman. He enriches himself at the expense of others. I guess people just like to believe his BS.

Of course that’s totally unfair to Poor H. Ross. EDS never required anything on the order of the TARP bailout the Donald received. It’s a shame we got the haircut instead of The Donald.

It’s Name ID with no substance.

People project what they want out of Trump onto his name.

When they find out what he stands for, like people did with Giuliani and his taxpayer-funded abortions as a Constitutional right, it’ll change.
