MEMBER DIARY

Charlie said he wants to go to Washington… to “CRASH” the TEA PARTY…

Ahhh yes… Charlie Crist… My governor and Republican Independent candidate for the US Senate…

I watched the debate… First time I watched the news on “abc” since…. ah… Who cares?

Anyway…

What was most interesting was Crist’s opening statement, which he began with yet another explanation of “why” he chose to screw abandon the Republican party and run as an Independent… I guess he still feels the voters of Floida haven’t quite forgotten a statement made by his campaign manager Eric Eikenberg, precisely three weeks prior to the announcement:

“To put these rumors to rest once and for all, as we have said countless times before, Gov. Crist is running for the United States Senate as a Republican. He will not run as an Independent or as a No Party Affiliation.”

Never mind that, on the day of his announcement, Crist explained his defection by borrowing from his pal Obama’s arsenal of “It’s not about me” lines, insisting it was the love and concern for his fellow Floridians that motivated the decision… and not the fact that (in spite of his current insistance that polls don’t mean much to him) his own personal polling showed that (as a Republican) Marco Rubio was going to kick his butt at the voting booth.

“My decision to run for the U.S. Senate as a candidate without party affiliation in many ways says more about our nation and our state than it does about me.”

Back then Crist gave us the obligatory “the system/Washington is broken” meme as his reason for turning traitor switching parties. But now he reveals it’s really because he wants to go to Washington so he can crash the Tea Party, (which has propelled his “poster boy” nemisis, Marco Rubio to double digit leads in all of those polls he doesn’t much care about).

”Abraham Lincoln once said that the government should be by the people, of the people and for the people - I believe that’s true – not of the party, by the party and for the party. That’s why I run as an Indepenent. It is abundantly clear to me that there is an extreme right faction in the Republican party and I think I’m the only candidate who can win in November and crash that Tea Party in Washington.”

“… an extreme right faction”… “of the Republican party”…………..?

That’s odd… I mean… you ARE aware, Mr. Crist, that (aside from the fact that the Tea Party is comprised of Republicans, Independents and Democrats), polling (which I know you hate) consistantly shows that a growing majority of ”The People” support the sentiments and objectives the Tea Party represents… you know, “The People” you claim you are fighting for… “The People” you just said the goverment should be ”by”, “of” and “for”?…….. unless, of course, ”The People” are rejecing you… at which time they must be destroyed… right?

Yeah… that approach will work… that’s the way to turn this drubbing around… threaten “The People” who outnumber your dwindling supporters… fire that warning shot across their bow like you pitched that baseball hard and fast across home plate…

… yeah… THAT’LL scare ‘em.

The lighting at Tropicana Field is so bad that he looked more like Exeter than ever before.

    Sorry Charlie.

Just as in politics, while he claims to “pitch down the middle”… he flubs his first pitch WAY to the catcher’s LEFT!

      He calls it his Interociter.

Dodgers are looking for cheap pitching next year, cheap everything after the divorce. Frank might call Orange Charlie up and see if he wants a job as a starter for the Dodgers next year.

Rubio gained 9 points over Crist after that last debate.

Yesterday’s poll (to which, as it has been made abundantly clear, Crist pays no attention) shows Rubio at 50% precisely twice the 25% for Crist… and Meek (with an embarrassing 19%) isn’t even in the prevbial ball park.

I guess Charlie’s mom never told him, when you swing your “big stick”… don’t aim for the bees nest.

The Dems force out Rep. Meek, leaving Chucky-wucky as the sole opponent to Mr. Rubio.

That’s the buzz right now, by the way……. That it’s kind of gonna happen soon, maybe after this weekend’s polling if you-know-who can’t give Meek the big bump up.

Right now, the ONLY thing the media is talking about Meek is if/when he’s gonna bow out, endorse Charlie and then (surprise !) Ol’ Orange Face flips to the ‘D’ark side officially.

Rubio would likely get even more votes.

Rubio leads in Rasmussen’s poll 50-25 (Crist)-19 (Meek). Put Crist and Meek together and he still leads by 6.

He just keeps repeating his own slogans while focusing with a stern brow into the camera.

One of his favorites is, “I’ll take the best ideas of Democrats AND Republicans”… Translation = “I’m going to steal the ideas of other people becauseI don’t have any of my own.”

Of course, the “ideas” he will back will depend upon which ones are polling the best at that moment or in that district when he is asked.

……..who would spontaneously combust if they voted for anyone other than a “D”………… Obamabots, Northeast Liberals, even some “moderates” and “independents”…….. Especially down this way in South New York/New Jersey Florida.

Live here long enough and you’ll know it instinctively.

Actually, if you’d just hang out here on vacation for a week, you’ll know it instinctively. ;)

if they feel that another one of their guys has been thrown under the bus by Obama and his goons. Then they might just stay home. I have no real knowledge of Florida politics, so not sure this could be the case.
