China Yes, Arizona No….[Updated]

…..I’m serious as a heart attack—right now, you are actually peering inside the mind of a liberal. Scary, huh?

You see, yesterday, Sarah Palin officially became my hero when she shined the national spotlight on the fact that Highland Park High School in Chicago, IL is not going to let their varsity girls basketball team compete in a national championship tournament, simply because the tournament is being held in Arizona (H/T Allahpundit of Hot Air). So basically, these poor girls worked their butts off all year to become the state champions—however, their school superintendent decided that it was more important to use them to make a political statement about the AZ anti-illegal immigration law (that 73% of Americans now support), than it was to reward them for their hard work. I’m telling you, liberal indoctrination of kids in the public schools never takes a holiday—even if it hurts their own students.

Furthermore, what really galls me about this story is the mealy mouthed excuse that Highland Park High School gave for not wanting these girls to go to AZ. Wait for it—they were “concerned for their safety”. I’m not kidding. Now, what’s even more unbelievable, is that, two years ago, this same high school allowed their students to visit CHINA! So now, communist China is “safer” than AZ?! REALLY????!!!!! Yeah, because as Palin pointed out on a radio show yesterday (see embed below), nothing says women’s rights like China—where they kill baby girls or leave them to die in garbage dumps. God Bless Sarahcuda, because if she hadn’t of pushed this, then this never would have become a national story (Palin has even offered to help raise money to send the girls to AZ).

Reason number 999,999,004 to homeschool or send your child to a private school.

Now, naturally, these pesky students aren’t too happy about a year of their hard work going down the drain, just so their school can use them as political pawns in order to continue the liberal indoctrination of its students. They were so upset, that two of the girls even went on Fox News to complain about it (gasp—the horror!).

Wait, what’s that you say liberals? There is no liberal indoctrination of children going on in the public schools? OK—well then, I would like to kindly ask that you please take a look at the Live Wire that I wrote a few days ago that had videos of and links to multiple stories about children being told that drawing the American flag is “offensive”, children being sent home from school for wearing the American flag, children being browbeaten by teachers for saying that they supported John McCain, children being forced to draw pro-Obama campaign art, and, finally, children being forced to chant accolades to “The One” (“MMM—Barack Hussein Obama”).

Ouch—I bet that hurts having the truth slap you in the face like that. Well, because it’s common knowledge that liberals think that people will believe anything that they say if they repeat it often enough—even if the facts are stacked against them—I suggest that liberals repeat to themselves over and over again, “There is no liberal indoctrination in public schools”……”There is no liberal indoctrination in public schools”. Is that removing the sting of truth yet? Nah, I never thought that it would—I was just messing with you guys. ;-)

UPDATE: My girl Jaded has been kind enough to bring this unbelievable article to my attention. Apparently, I was wrong about the title of my diary. Instead of “China Yes, Arizona No”, the title should have been “China and Gay Sex Stories Yes, Arizona No.” Come to find out, Suzan Hebson, the IL school official that put the kibosh on the Highland Park High School girls basketball trip to AZ, supported a program in 2007 that required ninth-graders to attend a “freshman advisory” class at which gay upperclassmen shared stories of their high school experiences. Oh, but it gets much worse than that. Here’s the kicker–”students who attended were asked to sign a statement promising not to tell others — including their parents — about what was said in class”.

OK liberals–now, I realize that the truth can be a harsh mistress. So, again, just keep repeating to yourselves over and over, “There is no liberal indoctrination in public schools”……”There is no liberal indoctrination in public schools”. Is it working yet? I didn’t think so.

This diary was originally posted on The Minority Report.

I certainly hope the hell the kids stand up for themselves. Liberals running schools should NOT have the authority to deny kids ANYTHING because of their personal political agendas EVER!

    • nessa

What dedication to their chosen profession. Scumbags.

      • Susannah

….And I’m usually not one to get angry over a news story either.

However, the good news, is that both the kids and the parents are pitching a fit–according to the second video that I embedded. And, they got “Sarahcuda” on their side, and now Bill O’Reilly (he covered this last night as well). So, I think that this idiocy on the part of the school will generate a HUGE public backlash and, maybe, finally expose the indoctrination/nuttiness that’s going on in public schools and end it once and for all–or at least curtail it.

        • nessa

h/t for that quote goes to Jaded, and it may be the quote of the century (thus far).

My hat’s off to Sarah and Hannity for offering to pay for the girls trip, hopefully the parents take them up on the offer!

          • Susannah

            Jaded Rocks! “-)

And, so does Palin and Hannity for offering to pay for the girls’ trip.

          • Susannah

That’s supposed to be a smiley face. :-)

I’ve been through anger and am now full into illness. It’s a sickening feeling to recognize how stupid so much of the media are, and that there is a substantial part of the country that buys its lies outright. Even if 70% know that the AZ law is reasonable and not racist, that means 30% think the opposite way, without even knowing what the law says.

It indicates the truth: 30% of the public is composed of liberal robots who would vote for Atilla the Hun if he were on the Democrat Party ticket. Unfortunately, perhaps, there is no offsetting 30% equally committed to the conservative alternative. We conservatives continue to insist on proof, accuracy, and results, and we continue to be betrayed by people like Senator Bob Bennett of Utah, who still has no clue as to why his pleadings fell on deaf ears.

          • Susannah

            …..Great comment by the way!

Oh, and it’s nice to hear from you Flagstaff.

            Take care. :-)

YUP! that about describes OUR problem straight up. It will be those 26% that gave Obama that 56% that will have to be WOKEN UP! now I believe WE have tapped 10% of that already so there is 16% that sits out there ready to engage & turn and I believe WE CAN DO IT!

If WE don’t the future is too bleak to think about. That these Socialists are creating a cradle to grave society by indoctrinating OUR children in the one place they should be SAFE is beyond the pale and UNTENABLE!

          • Flagstaff

Although I thought it was 52%. Anyway, I won’t be happy until his personal approval rating hits 30%.

Asst. Superintendent Suzan Hebson (who is behind this silliness) is no stranger to this kind of politicizing education and raising parents’ ire. It is a wonder that the parents haven’t forced her out yet, but while Highland Park is an upscale suburb of people with the means and the knowledge to get in the face of school boards and use the courts, they don’t often rock their boat and their school system often ranks at the top academically. Still, there is no excuse for Asst. Superintendent Hebson to politicize school sports programs. This smoke and mirrors crap about how their daughters “could be picked up and sent to Mexico” if they didn’t have their “papers” with them is ridiculous in the extreme. Just another example of lunatics in charge of the asylum.

    • Susannah

….”Just another example of lunatics in charge of the asylum.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself. :-)

This is insane So when did China have “beliefs and values” that are better than Arizona.

And got to love Palin. I may disagree with some mof the endorsements and things she does, but she does not pull any punches when going after the Leftist idiots.

    • Susannah

….And I agree that Palin is great for laying leftist idiots out flat. :-)

    • blooch

for Summer school, or even a whole year. It’s been de rigueur among that set for awhile now. My wife (Chinese native) and I were in China and picked up her nephew at Kindergarten once many years ago.. He was staying with his uncle for the Summer. This kid went back to China several more times for school as he grew up in LA. He’s a Stanford grad and a pretty sensible guy, but he’s got a soft spot and a blind eye where China is concerned.

I’m going to send him a copy of “Shengshi Zhongguo” (The Fat Years)2013 when…if…it is published here next year. Obama may find yet another way to kowtow to the Maoists, or Border’s may perform another backshelf banishing act.

      From Forbes May 24th issue:

“The author, Hong Kong citizen Chan Koon Chung, paints a dystopian view of China, tapping into the view that the nation is just a little too proud of itself. In the novel Chan has the government drug the water, making the populace forget a month of chaos and a brutal crackdown that restores order…”

“Hung Huang, a celebrity magazine publisher…gave away 200 copies of the book to new subscribers. She said she had to stop the giveaway after getting a warning. (Strictly speaking, the book has not been banned on the mainland because it has not been submitted for publication, but the author delicately reports that no one has offered to publish it.)”

My kids will visit China soon, but never out of my sight and certainly no schooling there.

      • Susannah

….They said it was lovely. I would like to travel there one day (I love to travel–we went to Egypt on our honeymoon). However, I would NEVER let my child go there without me. Furthermore, how crazy do you have to be to think that high school girls are safer in China than in AZ? Anyway, that was my major point.

        • http://stixblog.com Black River Wolf

In China, they abort girls left and right, and are going to be in real trouble in a few years after not having females.

I am sure China is a nice place to visit, but come on China yes Arizona No

          this is ludicrous

          • blooch

looking for the daughters of their ex-pats.

  • JadedByPolitics

will send children to SEX CLASSES and have them sign papers to NOT tell their parents but will not let them go play basketball..

Someone wake me up from this nightmare

    • Susannah

Thanks so much for this article. I’m going to update my diary with it (and give you a H/T of course). :-)

      • Susannah

        Guys,

I updated my diary with Jaded’s excellent article. Also, that huge link to my Live Wire that was right after the second embed was broken, because TMR moved this morning. However, Stix was kind enough to send me the new link to the Live Wire on the new TMR website (which isn’t totally up and running yet). So now, the link works.

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know what’s up. :-)

If I had know how dangerous it is for girls to play basketball here in Arizona, I wouldn’t have let my daughter play for her school team this year! She’ll be real disappointed when I tell her she can’t play next year…/snark.

Thanks to you and to Sarah for helping get this story out. This bozo administrator in Chicago should be fired!

    • Susannah

      ….Hilarious comment!

Oh, and it’s so good to see you back around! :-)

      X0X0, Suzi

  • penguin2

it was just an easy way for a Leftist administrator to use the public school system to promote their agenda. On both counts it seems.
First, using the PR opportunity to attack a political point of few they don’t like. But more importantly, and certainly more disturbing, is the second story here about the gay seminars and “don’t tell your parents. IMO, anything a school does that says “don’t tell your parents” is unacceptable, and is example of the further erosion of parental rights. Another point, is the agenda of pushing sexuality (of any type) only feeds into the deterioration of the culture that we have already suffered. I don’t suppose there were any abstinence discussion programs set up for the students?

    • Susannah

….As I said in my diary, that was just a mealy mouthed excuse in order to use the girls for political pawns.

And, I do agree with you that the “gay sex story time, but don’t tell your parents” thing was even worse–if that’s possible. Furthermore, like you, it’s not so much that it was “gay sex stories” per se, I don’t want my kid secretly being forced to listen to ANY sex stories in school–not gay sex stories, not straight sex, stories, not tranny sex stories…..well, you get get my drift.

Anyway, whatever happened to…I don’t know….algebra, history, geography, literature, etc.–without ANY politics involved?! Is that asking too much?

Oh well, it was great to hear from you Penguin. Have a nice Sunday. :-)

      X0X0, Suzi

      • http://www.redstate.com/tnjim TNJim

they’d be teaching abstinence. Now I’m not positive that’s not being taught in that school, but giving the leftist stance on the trip it’s a safe bet they aren’t. In fact, letting them go to China just falls right in. Chinese officials seldom allow tourists to see anything but the “good” side of their country.

“See, girls?” See how good communism has been to China?”

Bet they didn’t explain China’s immigration laws and penalties for illegal entry to China either. Heh.

        • Susannah

I’m no expert on Chinese immigration law; however, I’m pretty darn sure that their ant-illegal immigration laws are MUCH harsher than Arizona’s are (being a COMMUNIST country and all).

Oh, and, as always, it’s great to hear from you.

          Have a nice Sunday. :-)

          X0X0, Suzi

PS–I remember reading that China even deports refugees from North Korea and, sends them back there to die in work camps. Oh, but silly me–I forgot. It’s AZ that doesn’t have the right “values” (rolling eyes).

  • spainishirish

rights record, including the Arizona law. Maybe this school just wanted to stay in Obama’s good graces.

    • Susannah

…..I’m laughing, but I probably shouldn’t be. It’s really not funny when our president is apologizing to CHINA for human rights abuses.

Anyway, it’s good, as always, to hear from you.

      Take care. :-)
