Kay Bailey Hutchison: All By Herself

Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison embarrassed herself again yesterday in Temple, Texas, with yet another incredibly poor turnout at a grassroots event– an event publicized via media and social media.

The event drew a a few reporters, a few staffers, and a handful of supporters. See for yourself:

As you may recall, Hutchison’s campaign had egg on its face a couple weeks ago, when her announcement tour kickoff was also sparsely attended:

You mean being the #1 earmarker in Texas history, voting in favor of TARP and auto bailouts, consistently voting to expand government health care, siding with Obama on things like Lilly Ledbetter, missing a bunch of stimulus amendment roll call votes, and being pro-choice isn’t catching on among Republican grassroots?

however I saw this in RedHot and am glad someone put it to a diary because it is the bomb!! I have to wonder if the sycophants around Hutchison are keeping her from the bad news that she sucks? or are they as blinded as she is to the truth. I am in VA and I can see that woman doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of winning that state.

The libs are rallying around Kay “BailOut”….

The libs in Texas hate Perry as much as they hate George Bush.

Kay “Bailout” is out of touch with Texas and we don’t need her screwing up the only state left in America that has a snowball’s chance in hell of surviving the Obamanation.

Ron Paul is the biggest Pork Belly nut and preaches conservatisimYa know I was a Dem but I am a conservative and by my standards ron paul would be a good econimist as far as telling us the facts but you had better check his pork belly status because he don’t practice what he preaches now I would say if you are goin to clean out the Dems which I will be in the forefront on that because they are Communist not Dems we need to get rid of the rep that don’t do as they say and John McCain needs to ride off into the Sunset

Look, whatever else one may say about Kay Bailey Hutchison, the fact of the matter is that she’s been a loyal soldier and she doesn’t deserve the mean-spirited put-downs and derision.

She has never bailed on the party when it needed her vote and she’s not been part of any of the bipartisan stupidity that typified the GOP Senate Caucus. If anything, she deserves credit for never being on any of McCain’s “Gangs”.

What I’m saying is this; given a choice between her and Rick Perry, I’d pick Perry any day, but we need not be mean about it. She deserves better.

She’s, to my thinking, much too “Washington”, and she’s weak sauce AFAIAC.

But she’s certainly not “awful”, and criticism of her should mostly stick to policy.

I don’t think calling her a RHINO is unfair . . . although it may be inaccurate

        • IJB

“Weak sauce”. “The Lesser of Two Goods”. “Too Inside the Beltway”.
Those would all be fair to describe KBH.

But “RINO”, even for TX, is unfair, and inaccurate.

Suffice it to say, she wouldn’t be my first choice.

But Martin’s right, you have to be careful – if we’re going to drag KBH out to the field and fill her full of buckshot, there won’t be much of a party left.

I want to see her lose this.
I’d rather she was beaten the *right* way.

being a moderate when the party statewide is conservative isn’t going to help. We’ve seen this once before(2006) and we don’t want to repeat it. She might go Independent if she loses(just like Carol Ketton Etc.. did in 2006). She’s going to lose anyway(she hasn’t lost race in her life) and mudslinging is a state tradition as far as politics are concerned.

Get a closer look at her and you’ll see.

          She’s a B+ if Tom Coburn is an A+.

Unfortunately (for her), she’s running against an A in Rick Perry.

That doesn’t make her a RINO.

  • Richard Mullins

Dems votes that is. I guess she’ll go to Waco too and maybe the Rio Grande Valley. Yeah, go poison the the Conservative votes so you become Governor.
