And if that parody ad didn’t bring a smile to your face, maybe this will. Coakley’s internal polling is showing her with only a 2 point lead, which, as Moe pointed out to me, means she is losing.

Good Times.

…all saying only one thing “The People’s Seat”.

Maybe there’s a Woody Guthrie song out there that will accommodate the title.

Make it happen, guys, turn this little fire into an inferno.

…from what I’ve seen you typically have to discount a campaign’s own internal polls by a certain amount; they tend to be, ah, optimistic. If her polls are saying +2, it’s bad for her. Very, very bad.

because he’s ran a great campaign but Coakley is one of the worst candidates I’ve heard of. And making that comment about why should she shake hands with people outside Fenway Park….. I mean how ridiculous can you get?

And Dems say Sarah Palin is dumb? However Martha will probably never be lampooned on SNL or any other media.

    She’s really pathetic.

  • 1stRichard

Too many negative ads, especially The Tea Party ad has too many upset here, Grandma is very upset over Culture of Corruption Coakley calling her a teabagging radical. These negative ads are killing Status quo Coakley. I can

I said before… Brown by 5, because I think people are that mad and Coakley is that awful of a candidate and Brown that good of one.

    What say you?

  • Spartan4Life

These are the comments an attack piece on Brown got in the liberal Boston Globe:

    http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2010/01/14/browns_glossy_veneer_conceals_misleading_campaign/?comments=all#readerComm

These are Boston Globe readers, people! There is zero support for Coakley and she hasn’t earned any.

and was inspired to see pro Brown comments had anywhere from 100 to 400 “recommends” as opposed to anti Brown comments where they there were maybe 10-20. This really surprised me considering the Globe is the liberal pro democrat rag. The comments were real and authentic and from local sources, this was obvious.

Can you tell us a little more about internal polls and why +2 is bad for her? I am so curious about how the system works and am clueless in these matters but am trying to learn.

  • ashland_avenue

    from globe

“A vote for Kennedy, while well intentioned is merely a vote for Martha Costly. “

It’s my subjective experience that internal polls tend to favor the people who commissioned them. It all comes down to the assumptions that you make to weigh the results; if you’ve made the right assumptions, you’re golden. If you haven’t, you’re not.

Michael Graham, one of the local talk show hosts here in Boston, has a new video up on his website showing Michael Meehan clearly

  • LisaDe

So what you are saying is that her campaign basically “hires” an outside polling firm to poll for them and then they report back? This information is generally for them but somehow becomes public or leaks out?
    Thanx for your time!

  • 10ksnooker

    That’s really funny.

Deep in the bluest of blue States in the bluest of blue races, the tea party is on.

  • Return to Revolution

Which makes more sense because I’d think the internal polling would be the most accurate – a candidate wants to know if they are winning or losing in reality and leave deliberate manipulation (when in their favor) to the media and public polls.

Of course CQpolitics isn’t predicting much change either way for 2010 in both house and senate so maybe folks like Coakley enjoy deluding themselves.

    Let’s see:

A corrupt prosecutor who locks up the innocent
    “No terrorists in Afganistan”
Thug senior aid beats up reporter, do nothing and lie about it
Then the whole Fenway Park / diss the common man thing.

  • JoeG

I’d leave the negative out entirely. Just run with “meeting my bosses in front of Fenway Park.” Followed with “I’m asking you for your vote.”

  • Section9

Let’s not be packing Scott’s bags for D.C. quite yet.

There’s still an election to win. His moneybombs have been impressive, however.

  • JoeG

I don’t usually go nuts with exclamation points, but those comments are unbelievable!

Lefties usually own the comments online, particularly on a website for a leftie paper like the Globe. This could be a major defeat, not a slim victory for Brown.

  • Section9

Coakley was a placeholder until the Machine found somebody they were grooming to take Teddy’s place.

That’s all Martha Coakley ever was.

  • bobbishc

Could we compromise on him offering her a mapquest from her house to Fenway :)
