Midday Open Thread
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | January 5th at 12:30 PM |
Yesterday, Moe wrote a short diary on activism going into 2010. It was a simple point, aim to misbehave. In that spirit I present a video done by our own Erick Brockway, with limited contributions from yours truly. Enjoy, and consider this an open thread. The Temptation of Totalitarianism
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | December 30th at 11:30 AM |
As we come to the end of Liberal Fascism, Goldberg first provides us a quick review before providing a warning to Conservatives. There are two passages that, to me, sum up both how we got here and the dangers involved. Here is the first: [L]iberalism in this country succumbed to the totalitarian temptation: the belief that there is a priesthood of experts capable of redesigning | Read More »
Google Hates BigGovernment
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | December 29th at 01:00 PM |
Earlier today while checking up on teh twitter, I saw this tweet from Caleb Howe at 10:49 am Eastern: Naturally I clicked the link to see just what Caleb was sharing. Upon doing so, in my Chrome browser, I was met with this: [Click image for larger view] Why would Google be marking BigGovernment.com as a page that has malware on it?
Kulturkampf And The ‘Tragic Wrong Turn’
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | December 21st at 02:00 PM |
[The] larger point behind the effort to cast opponents of change as fascist: to make change istself the natural order by ridiculing the very notion of a natural order. The underlying dogma … is that social and gender roles are not fixed, that tradition, religion, and natural law have no binding power or authority over the individual’s will to power, and that the day we | Read More »
A Choice Not An Echo
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | December 8th at 03:30 PM |
In my lifetime the greatest electoral achievements made by the Republican party were made possible by offering a choice rather than an echo. The Reagan Revolution and the ’94 Republican take over of the House were both examples of this. Once again in 2010 we will be given the option of offering a choice rather than an echo in Senate and Congressional races around the | Read More »
‘What Sort of Man?’
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | November 19th at 12:30 PM |
Today there is a great post up on The Conservatives by our own Brian Faughnan displaying the absolute lack of compassion and downright cruelty of Barack Obama and his Administration. The process will get more difficult for those who lost loved ones: Mohammed will attack and denigrate the victims. He will express pride in what he has done. Jihadists around the world will pay him | Read More »
President Plunge Polls and Palin
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | November 18th at 01:00 PM |
While Obama was taking a bow on his Asian Apology Tour, Quinnipiac released a new poll in which the President’s ratings also took a bow, h/t Ed Morrisey at Hot Air. Obama’s job approval rating fell to 48 percent in the Nov. 9-16 survey of registered voters nationwide by the Hamden, Connecticut-based university, with 42 percent polled saying they disapproved of the job he is | Read More »
A Small Note On The Asian Apology Tour
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | November 17th at 06:41 PM |
While perusing Drudge after a long day at work I saw a link quoting VP Cheney, so naturally I clicked it. I didn’t really find much in the story that was useful, but then I came across this gem of a quote by some anonymous staffer: “The president sees it as a chance to present our points and advance our interests, and you’re not conceding | Read More »
We’re not the only ones protesting in D.C. today [Update below the fold]
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | November 5th at 02:32 PM |
As thousands of conservative activists descend on Washington’s Mall to protest the government takeover of 1/6 of our economy, another protest on the public option ensued [video linked*]. Nearly a score of Marxist protesters filled** the office of Sen. Lieberman, chanting “Everyone in and no one out, universal healthcare now!” and “Represent Connecticut, not AETNA!”. That is, until they were arrested. I wonder if someone | Read More »
‘Crazed Right Wingers* Make Fun of Obama’s Inability to Produce Change’
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | October 5th at 04:00 PM |
h/t to StephC for pointing this out. For those having browser issues use this version: I will just note that when you have lost the cover of one of your best attack dogs from the last election cycle, you might be doing something wrong. Also, it’s not that we think Obama will change America into Nazi Germany, it’s that he might change America into what | Read More »
