Open Thread: Live on the Ed Morrissey Show

Today’s Ed Morrissey Show features special guest Congressman Eric Cantor.

Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), Andrew Malcolm returns in his new Tuesday slot to discuss media and politics. In the second half, Rep. Eric Cantor joins us to talk about Barack Obama’s economic policies. We’ll also have Tommy Christopher and Caleb Howe debate the videotape allegedly depicting Joe Biden’s adult daughter using drugs. Legitimate news story, or irrelevant political attack? We’ll go into bonus minutes to find out! We’ll also talk about Keith Olbermann and Twitter, Caleb’s exclusive look into the anchor’s hypocrisy on social networking.

You can find my Olbermann story here, Erick on Biden here, Ed on Biden here, and Tommy on Biden here. You can watch live and participate below the fold.

Note: WP won’t recognize AUTOPLAY=FALSE in Ustream vids. To catch the show visit Ed’s story.

At least I didn’t use my old account and switch the display name…..I figure I could have gotten away with it for a few comments…..;^)

          Let’s not go here.

I was just giving Steph some props for a good comment….I just didn’t want to do it over there.

I think Randy, Steph and I are all on the same page and no offense was intended or taken on my part.

    From Foxnews.com:

“DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan ? The commander of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility Tuesday for a deadly assault on a Pakistani police academy and said the group was planning a terrorist attack on the White House that would “amaze” the world.

Baitullah Mehsud, who has a $5 million bounty on his head from the U.S., said Monday’s attack on the outskirts of the eastern city of Lahore was retaliation for U.S. missile strikes against militants along the Afghan border.

“Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world,” Mehsud told The Associated Press by phone.”

Obama has all but offered them a bailout of their very own……

The only ones who would be amazed by an attack on D.C. might be Obama and Co. The rest of us are just surprised that it hasn’t happened yet.

I blame Jack Bauer. And maybe John Bolton’s mustache.

that there would be a lot of people in fly over country that would consider it good riddence. (See Erick’s latest front pager.) Hence, PR campaign.

Hey, I’m following 24 cheering for the “bad guys” lol

…along with a lot of other people who aren’t bureaucrats. Hell, the bureaucrats don’t deserve it, either.

          • Tbone

of people would be far less upset than common decency would normally dictate for the very types of reason’s per Erick’s post.

I said last year that if McCain would have run against congress he would win. If the Republicans run against the Government they will take back control easily.

People out here are really fed up

Not even yelling, really. Just… showing the flag, I guess.

I was there a few weeks back. Stayed at a hotel a stone’s throw from the capitol. Found myself driving down the mall from the Washington Monument to the Capitol, then hanging a right toward the river, around 10 pm one night.

And I swear, at the risk of having the FBI show up at my door for voicing this, I must have seen a dozen things along the way that made me think, “wow… it would be so easy to (fill in the blank)”. I’m serious; I was amazed at how wide-open that city still is. It’s not the DC of my misspent youth, but compared to say, London, it’s scary.

Hopefully I’ve just been watching too many movies and reading too much fiction. But nothing would surprise me. Certainly not the determination of the enemy. While I give full props to the police, DHS, the service people, and the last administration for guarding this nation, all I can say is that there is a Higher Power protecting us.

why we need to convince our legislators to respect the 10th amendment. The more power that is concentrated in DC, the bigger target it becomes.

I don’t care WHAT you may have done in the past. It doesn’t merit THAT!
