HuffPo Offended By Tea Parties

SCROLL DOWN FOR LEFT-WING PROTEST PHOTOS/VIDEO

PROTESTING BUSH 2008

The Huffington Post, amid their thousands of column inches, hundreds of stories, and thousands of photos dedicated to discussing why the tea parties are stupid and unworthy of attention, recently and snarkily compiled their list of the Top Ten Most Offensive Tea Party Signs, the purpose of which, like that CNN hack what’s her name, is to mock the parties as stupid, fringe, lunatic or racist. (h/t Tommy Christopher)

A frequent complaint by those on the left who would make pretense that the tea parties are insignificant is the whiny “where were you when Bush was in office?” As if to say the parties aren’t genuine, because the participants didn’t hold them at earlier points in time. Jonah Goldberg handily wipes out that pathetic line of reasoning here, but I still have a remaining question for the HuffPo. Where was YOUR interest in offensive signage the last few years?

We already know the answer with regard to that CNN hack what’s her name. She was cheering it on. But hey, maybe the HuffPosers simply aren’t aware. Hmm? Maybe they missed out on the worst of the left? Well let’s not leave them in the dark shall we? In honor of the HuffPosers recently discovered sense of propriety, we herein generously offer, in a convenient and easy to reference guide, a sampling of the worst of the left protests of the last few years, which they may now happily denounce. You’re welcome, Huffers. (I call them Huffers, now. We’re tight like that.)

I’ll start with a charming, not safe for work video, and then we’ll go below the fold. I filmed this concerned citizen at the Democratic Convention in Denver this past fall. He was at the massive “Recreate 68/World Can’t Wait” protest, and his particular affiliation is a group called “USA Off The Planet”. Get those angry keyboards ready to denounce, Huffers:

.

The rest of that video featured me and the fat guy cursing at each other, so I clipped it for relevance. Note how the other protesters come to this speaker’s aid when he’s confronted. He wasn’t a fringe interloper, that sentiment is mainstream at leftwing protests. Do let’s go on …

“Drive Out?” Wonder how Huffers would react to calls to “drive” Obama out of office. Nice touch on the shirt, too:

You know how everyone is “worried” about conservative talk of revolution? Napolitano comes to mind. Where were they the last few years when the call was EXPLICIT?:

See also here, if you can endure the protester’s obvious delusions of “Rage Against The Machine” grandeur:

From Zombietime: Protesters Nazi salute the Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Berkeley.

From Zombietime:

From Zombietime:

From Zombietime:

.

From Zombietime. Be sure to recall the Huffers’ distaste at seeing children at the tea parties:

.

From Zombietime:

.

From Zombietime:

.

From Zombietime:

From ProtestWarrior.com (via freerepublic.com) . Totally racist AND calls for revolution. Anti-war protesters are all about class:

I shot the following snap in St. Paul. If you can’t tell, the sign on the left says “RNC 08 = Tianamen Square. I’m sure you can read the center sign. Are we offended yet Huffers?

I shot this video at the RNC. The protesters held a concert. To say this isn’t safe for work would be an understatement, but bleeping wouldn’t convey the hate. It wasn’t fringe, this was a huge crowd and part of the main protests. As offensive goes, it’s hard to top:

.

As everyone at Redstate knows, I could go on and on and on. So please, can we dispense with the mock outrage on the left regarding the tea parties? Besides, we all know how the left really feels about free speech when they don’t agree with it:

.

The left is manufacturing two responses to the tea parties. One is dismissive and the other is horrified, a la Janeane Garofalo and HuffPo. Both are preposterous in light of their silence about, or participation in, the far more horrifying, yet totally commonplace practice at left-wing protests the last few years. So spare me, Huffington Post. Your pose is showing.

I like ‘W’. I really do. I know he’s not in vogue. I know Conervatives hate him ight now. But he is way underestimated. One way to know:

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Till the day I day, I will never understand the pure hatred for Hitler-Bush. The stupidity is beyond me. Just look at these freaking signs.

    • http://hillbillypolitics.com Steph C

I wouldn’t have much to complain about with Bush, either. But NCLB and letting Congress go spend happy got me pretty steamed at times.

      • IJB

Look, I’m not one of the harder-line Bush-bashers around here (far from it!).

And I’m actually in the camp that is not particularly outraged at the spending in the first couple of years following 9-11.

But I will always, always, *always* have a problem with Bush for not taking on the media or the Democrat Party or the Leftist establishment.

That, if for no other reason, is what will keep Bush (and Bush I, for that matter) from ever being among the “greats” IMHO.

        • http://hillbillypolitics.com Steph C

Because, honestly, it didn’t seem that we were suffering much for “Bush’s long war” until Congress changed in 2006. It started going downhill shortly after and picked up speed.

  • http://hillbillypolitics.com Steph C

it shows how much women are truly degraded by the left, by themselves as well as the male members.

We all know it’s manufactured outrage or belittling but it’s nice to be reminded once in awhile just how morally and emotionally bankrupt the left is.

  • Susannah

A big thank you for documenting all of this. Great diary. :-)

However, I wouldn’t hold your breath for the Huffers to show outrage at any of the ridiculous behavior that you’ve documented here.

You know……it’s really hard to watch those videos without wanting to punch the computer screen. Do any of those people ever wash their hair or does their stench keep each other awake during these “protests”??
I noticed that they mock what they don’t understand. I also find them terribly ignorant and highly offensive.
Thank God I live in a town in Alabama where these people don’t exist. I’ve always had a very low tolerance for stupid.

    Thanks for sharing

    • JoeG

They smell as bad as you think.

      • Next93

…when you only use 3 squares of toilet paper on each trip to the bathroom. It’s also why you should never shake hands with a leftist

    • Amy Miller

Absolutely! That mentality definitely goes beyond nutty protesters. I have had friends (~real~ friends, not just people I knew, who were unable to deconstruct my argument so it would fit into their silly little liberal heads) abandon an argument in favor of insulting me and my background (~very~ country), or just resort to outright name calling.

They didn’t understand, therefore I must be too stupid to voice a cogent thought. Yet, when I asked them to explain why they believed what they did, they retreated back to the same old party line of “But…BUSH!” and “conservatives are out of touch!”

They have so much to learn!

  • nalora

One merely needs to put George W. Bush’s name into Google to find the completely outrageous amount of hatred that has spewed from the left for 8 years. When have we actually seen hatred so intense in America that a Clinical Definition and name was given to it? Bush Derangement Syndrome. Even those who burned Nixon in effigy in D.C. are cringing at what has become of the Democratic Party. I know. I was there. Although I have been “Far Right” (Libertarian) since the early 70′s, I am saddened and ashamed at what has happened to the party of JFK. He would not recognize it. JFK would have applauded the Tea Parties. He would not have, as our current President has done, sent a message through a press secretary that he was “unaware” of 300,000 Americans marching for liberty. Nixon actually came out to greet us in the early morning hours, when 500,000 showed up on the Mall.

The line in the sand is drawn. This far. No further. And the Left are blind with hatred and cannot see it. To their peril.

Great compilation. I think perhaps what really T’s the Huffers off is that no matter how they try, they could NEVER pull together so many people, in so many cities, in support of a cause. I would be ticked if I were them too. And maybe, just maybe a little worried (I hope).

If they did, and they were ignored by the media like we were, they would be incensed, because a lot of the reason they do it is to be in the lime-light. I mean, how many days did all the national media hang out in Crawford to Sheehan (whom I feel sorry for, because of her loss, but I truly question her motives as things moved forward)?

    • nricciar

So the largest antiwar protest in history (Feb 03) with basically the same number of people in one U.S. city (NY est 300-400K [1]) than all of the tea parties combined (300K+ est [2]) must not count?. Oh and there was more than one city also… 50K in LA, 150K San Fransisco, 4K Colorado springs, 20K Seattle, etc. Over 150 cities in the U.S. and over 800 worldwide.

        1) The people in your examples seemed to be protesting everything – capitalism, freedom, bathing requirements, etc. We prefer to stick to the subject.
        2) You also assume that the people in your example were able to put two sentences together to explain what they were doing there. From what I remember, they were not.
        3) You also neglect to mention that most of the dross that filled the streets in ’03 cling to the government teat, while most of the people who protested on Tuesday had jobs. That’s why for every person protesting, there were ten in their cars honking because they were going to or coming from work.

You weren’t able to pull too many Obama brownshirts in for the “Support The Budget” crap that you guys thought up, were you? Maybe you should get the “peace activists” to man up for a little budget battle…

        • nricciar

then what about the March for Women’s Lives protests in DC…. estimates are between 800K and 1.15 million

Do you really think that professional protestors impress us? Wait, wait…Hugo Chavez had a BILLION people come out to the “Hugo Is A Great Guy Rally” – He MUST be right! Oh my gosh, we need to submit to him NOW!

You seem a bit worried, grasshopper…

          • Jack_Savage

I completely forgot about that. We really screwed up in Iraq too, since Saddam got re-elected with 100% of the vote every time…and did ya see those rallies!

          • nricciar

You have any evidence to back up these claims of yours? I would think it would be hard to employee 800K protesters even at minimum wage that’s a ton of money.

Was that you in the picture above with the “9-11 Was An Inside Job” shirt?

Here’s the point, pal. Show me some wikipedia entries that convince me that these clown’s asses have just one red blood cell that is remotely pro-American, and I would be inclined to think about taking you seriously.

None of you deserve the freedoms that so many people so very, very unlike you have died for. Not one of you. And you all will go to bed tonight safe in the knowledge that someone is manning a checkpoint so you can go without a bath and carry your little signs and pretend that every damned one of you put together matters as much as one single member of the Armed Forces.

            …..

          • Gigi

I specifically said, “so many people, in so many cities.” Not the single, highly populated cities you spoke of. And if the Tea parties had actually been covered like, for example, the DAYS devoted to Cindy Sheehan’s protest at Crawford, you might have been a bit more impressed. But instead, they were under-reported, misrepresented (by childish reporters using gutter language, etc…), and, where covered, they were buried on websites. I know this because I have have been researching the numbers. So get over your self and go back to studying for your finals, for what is most likely your 10th year of undergrad and leave the grown-ups to talk.

          • Achance

gets in on lefty protest marches and demonstrations. They send their staffs and pay transportation and arrange accomodation for their members. The unions get all their shop stewards off work to go and in the Blue states and cities, public employees are often given generous paid leave to go. To cover themselves, administrators will make the employees fill out a leave slip to make it look like the employee’s accrued leave is being charged but somehow, it just never seems to actually get deducted from the employee’s leave account. Then add in all the college students and the general run of ne’er do wells that have been stoned and protesting since the ‘Sixties and you can get a pretty good crowd for any lefty event.

        • redneck_hippie

to the lefty protesters, they’d be marching on Washington for confiscatory taxes on the rich. But that’s not as glamorous as ending the military industrial complex or whatever.

        • JoeG

I couldn’t believe the number of supportive passersby during the tea party.

I was in a rather lefty town and there sure were a lot of folks showing support. I have a hard time believing the alleged 65% approval rating for obama if that many folks were happy to see us out there.

          • http://brockwayfamily.spaces.live.com/ Erick Brockway

We had truckers with air horns, a couple even had train horns (like to get one of those).
Only a scant few gave a thumbs down, or slowed to ask some inane question like: “Are any of these people here on Medi-care??”
            Huh?
Didn’t see anyone with signs saying “No Taxes Anywhere At All”

          • JoeG

When the anti-war folks were in greater numbers, we’d go down across the street and have a little “support the troops” rally.

Two college students would occasionally stop by and hold signs that said “Honk if you hate hippies!” We noticed that log truck drivers tended to have the longest and loudest response to that sign.

With the housing collapse, there just aren’t anywhere near as many log trucks on the road. I missed their presence on Wednesday.

1). You do not get to get on your high horse because people are not accepting the World Socialist Web Site estimates of the antiwar movement. You will now apologize for thinking that we’re sufficiently dumb as to swallow that, and you will promise never to do something that silly again. Next post.

2). You will *also* apologize for using an old [538] post that has since been shown to be [at best] incomplete. Because you annoyed me with 1), you get to do the research on that. Also next post [upon reflection, you can do that with your second post. The first one being your apology, of course.]

        • nricciar

          1) I apologize if I came off as anything but respectful, but I would like to point out i specifically avoided the World Socialist Web site estimates, and used the CBS estimate provided instead. But to be on the safe side I will promise to refrain from posting in any story discussing the tea parties, and I will promise to make every effort to use what is generally considered acceptable sources.

          2) I am slightly confused about this and would appreciate any clarification you could. I would be happy to apologize if that is indeed the case and I referenced out of date and/or incomplete information.

          • nricciar

sorry, now I know what you are referring to about 538, I did not realize this information was incomplete, and if so I sincerely apologize.

          • DONTREADONME

just testing your mettle, man. Earlier I had combined you with another posting elsewhere on the comment threads, sorry my memory slips sometimes. Not offended at all it was a here is your example and here is ours, that is it. No one is wrong here on this topic, it is just that conservative protests are not at the level of those on the opposite side of the spectrum. We are usually very happy with our lives on par, so a protest event is quite unusual. I have been to only one march or protest and that was the March for Life and the attendance is astronomical for a January event every year. Anyway, have a good evening.

          • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

You weren’t being told to apologize for being rude: you were told to apologize for thinking that we were stupid. Which you then proceeded to try again to do by assuming that none of us would actually click through.

            Bye.

            PS: Not In Your Name.

I am fairly new here, though I have been lurking for quite awhile. The Tea Parties just have me so proud of this country and the hard working people that made time out of their hard working day to be there. These are the people that go to work to give huge chunks of their earnings to a recklessly spending government to support a bunch of freeloaders, and a few people who really need it (for which most don’t mind). That we were made fun of, derided and flat out ignored, all after being told we were considered potential threats by our own government, just really ticks me off. So, thanks for jumping on that troll and thanks for being here, for being smart, well-read and for being Red.

Excellent compilation. And you have not even scratched the surface with the hatred directed at Sarah Palin including the dailykos-supported T-shirts. Huffington- the Zsa Zsa of the left- has no intelligence to speak of. Luckily, most of those protesters you cite are too busy blogging or playing a video game on Election Day. they are the fringe and represent a small minority. That being said, they are definitely an argument for literacy testing before casting a vote. And if Huff would drop the pretentiousness, she’d probably fail too!

  • DONTREADONME

he actually thinks he can saturate the CCD of the camera used to prevent filming with that little key light in the middle of the day. A real engineer or someone with half a brain would not have used that. Of course I will not give away the secret on saturating the CCD of a camera. Shows that these people do not know what they are doing, or saying. I was laughing when I saw him with that little light, hahahaha! Maybe he thought he could blind you through the camera with that little thing…. lol, what morons…. rotflol

    • USNJIMRET

And that should be enough to provide legal cover for the well earned beat down the slob had coming to him.
      Just my opinion of course.

      • DONTREADONME

the attempt at using a light source to intentionally blind or maim is considered a crime especially when it comes to warfare. BTW it is against the law to use such sources that are capable of saturating the CCD because they equally posess the capability to blind. That in my mind deserves the legal argument of self defense for a beat down.

I got an e-mail from a co worker on Thursday afternoon… It read:

I surrender, I should have done research on the president before I voted for him. I did not realize just how many Bush policies I was in favor of. I do not know alot about politics, but I will take the time now to research.

My coworker wrote that message to six of us at work. She was the Obama mania type… She was into everything he said or did. She fell hook line and sinker for the change mantra….. Anyway, there must be more like her on a positive note.

    • JoeG

I don’t recall what he initially opened with, something along the lines of “this isn’t what I voted for.”

      My response was:

“You voted for hope and change. This is hope and change. Not only that, but I *TOLD* you that this would be hope and change. Please listen next time.”

  • ColdWarrior

Easter Sunday. Big family gathering of my wife’s clan in Phoenix. Formerly pretty strong Dem teacher tells us she cannot believe how bad Obama has turned out. She is now solidly anti-Obama and — who knows? — might even re-register as a Republican. Her brother-in-law, very successful young Christian conservative doctor who was hosting the gathering at his palatial Phoenix home, decides, after my pitch, he’s got to “get involved” and commits to becoming a precinct committeeman. This is in McCain’s legislative district, LD 11. Later, I learn he attended the Tea Party in Phoenix (I had urged him to do so) along with his brother-in-law, the Dem teacher’s little brother. Working on him to become a PC, too. (He’s a realtor and I told him he’d make a lot of good contacts!)
    Thank you

After reading much of what has been said above, (some with great vitriol and rancor) I would like to say this about Protests in America. The Anti-War movements of the 60′s and 70′s which I participated in, indeed, the whole MOBE was also overlooked by the Television Media until four people were shot dead in Ohio by the US Government.

The Peace Protests against Iraq have also been largely overlooked and under-reported. But they were never ridiculed on Nationwide Television, by people claiming to be Journalists when they were covered.

The MOBE would have been thrilled to have had 300,000 people at the beginning of the movement. I repeat, The BEGINNING of a movement.

But it was only when half a million of us showed up in Washington that they ever heard us. My prayer is that the teaparty movement continues to the same end, and are heard.

Thank you for the compilation of protest posters. If any of you have ever been to one an ANSWER march you have seen some of the most vile garbage on the face of the planet.

I have been to the GOE and other pro US rallies. And I have pictures and blogs of the same nature and it truly makes me sick. What I have found is as nasty as you have shown here.

Liberals frame reality through their own social constructs. They are the ones who reject reason in favor of their perception of reality based on feelings, not facts.

They are the ones who will immediately toss under the bus the participant who scorns the group think for an individual bent on something. They are the only ones allowed to talk sheisse about Obama and what they don’t like. I think they believe that they alone corner the market on “protesting”!

The joke is on them. We have always had reality and facts to deal with. It is a mental disease, liberalism. I have no doubt.

I can sum it up this way: Liberalism, er um, postmodernism eschews truth and those who adhere to its ideas prefer to exercise power to force social change. Liberals definitely live in a world of contradiction and emotion.
The strategy isn’t to persuade people to accept their ideas, but to confuse them; to distort the truth, propagate lies and smears; and to use whatever rhetoric is necessary to accomplish their purposes. (Keith Olberman anyone?)
They only have to appear to be “right” and superior and they cannot use facts because it destroys the reality they have created through the rose-colored glasses.

These people who spew such crap as in your videos are every bit the extremists that Ms. Napolitano describes of the Right which most of us here know. What a shame that she can’t see the forest for the trees.

But don’t worry, WE have a much larger base willing to protect this Country than the basement dwellers will ever have. They are content to bash us all until it comes down to brass tax. They’ll stay under the rocks to survive and then naturally not be grateful for those who did the work.

    Sign me…a RWE.

The Liberal left is composed almost exclusively of little people, intellectually, who need to agree with one another to prove there is a reason for their being. I visited the Huffington Post off and on for a year during 2008 until I couldn’t take the bad reporting, inaccurate summations, exaggerated opinions and outright lies any more. As a registered Democrat for over fifty-four years, I was curious about why these people were so hateful. I have been equally curious about our mainstream media that engages in the same practices. Why? What happened to the America where people lived day by day without all of the hate being generated? Don’t these people realize that this hate trickles down to our young every day and affects their whole life? Or, are we so selfish and self-centered that we just don’t care. I walked away from organized religion when I was seven because of the hate I saw generated in a place where there was supposed to be love. I am now seventy-five and still do not adhere to any organized religion because of the hypocrisy. I feel the same way about our current political situation. Our young might learn more positively if they didn’t have to filter all of the hate out of our society just to simple enjoy learning all the things that they will need to prepare them for life. My life is almost over, and it has been a great one, and I want the same for everyone and hate no single soul on earth. Try it some time, it might make you feel a little better about yourself, or not!
