The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 16) will meet in Cancun, Mexico from November 29 – December 10 2010; and Americans for Prosperity is taking our Hot Air Tour there to meet them.

International bureaucrats are heading down to the COP meeting in Cancun for a series of conferences aimed at curbing greenhouse gas emissions; transferring wealth and technology from developed to developing nations; and raising the cost of traditional energy in order to prop up politically popular new sources.

The Hot Air Tour stop on December 2 will remind everyone that cap-and-trade means: Lost Jobs, Higher Taxes and Less Freedom.

AFP’s Hot Air Tour has traveled across the country since 2008 and to the The 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 15) in Copenhagen exposing the economic costs of global warming alarmism. For more information on the Hot Air Tour please visit HotAirTour.org

Airports Closed, Trains Canceled as Winter Storms Drive Snow Across Europe

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-12-01/snow-frost-icy-weather-continues-to-disrupt-air-travel-in-u-k-germany.html

Severe winter weather continued to disrupt travel across Europe as snowfall shut down airports in Geneva, London and Edinburgh and Eurostar trains connecting the U.K. to the continent were canceled.

Power for next-day delivery in the U.K., Europe’s biggest gas user, rose as much as 35 percent to its highest level since January 2009 today as natural gas costs increased and the weather conditions boosted demand. French day-ahead electricity jumped to its highest level in five weeks.

Those who had once simpered: “I don’t want to destroy the rich, I only want to seize a little of their surplus to help the poor, just a little, they’ll never miss it!” – then, later, had snapped: “The tycoons can stand being squeezed; they’ve amassed enough to last them for three generations” – then, later, had yelled: “Why should the people suffer while businessmen have reserves to last a year?” – now were screaming: “Why should we starve while some people have reserves to last a week?” – Atlas Shrugged
