considering they passed a budget bill, a pension reform bill, a redistricting plan, and revised the immigration bill, among others, although we are a little ticked they tanked the charter schools bill and a couple of jobs bills, but we're ready to push those in the next session. By the way, aren't you in Virginia now? Read an interesting story that Artur Davis (former AL Democrat) is considering a run in VA on the GOP ticket. - here.

(Please excuse me if I seem a bit short-tempered at the moment…I just finished reading some Dem author’s article about the GOP’s “War on Kids” over at USA Today and it’s left me pretty close to frothing at the mouth. Well, the War on Women mantra obviously isn’t working…so I guess the War on Kids was next in line if their ridiculous list of divisive rhetoric)

The Dem’s idea of “improving education” is to throw more money at it. Doesn’t matter to them one whit if the system is faulty and doesn’t work as it stands…they just want the money (and the power money brings) and that’s it.

Our education system stinks. From Head Start on up. Throwing money at it hasn’t even come close to solving the problems.

With school vouchers and school choice, at least our young people, i.e. our KIDS, have a chance to succeed.

The system HAS to change.

Politically, it’s a cross-over issue with a broad spectrum of appeal. It’s a smart move on Romney’s part to incorporate this into his platform.

If so, please call Governor Bentley's office and ask him to sign SB477 which is sitting on his desk. This bill was passed to protect Alabama citizens and counter the Agenda 21 attack on property rights. The number is 334-242-7100. From the bill here:

Section 1. (a) As used in this section, "political subdivisions" means all state, county, incorporated city, unincorporated city, public local entity, public-private partnership, and any other public entity of the state, a county, or city. (b) The State of Alabama and all political subdivisions may not adopt or implement policy recommendations that deliberately or inadvertently infringe or restrict private property rights without due process, as may be required by policy recommendations originating in, or traceable to "Agenda 21," adopted by the United Nations in 1992 at its Conference on Environment and Development or any other international law or ancillary plan of action that contravenes the Constitution of the United States or the Constitution of the State of Alabama. (c) Since the United Nations has accredited and enlisted numerous non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations to assist in the implementation of its policies relative to Agenda 21 around the world, the State of Alabama and all political subdivisions may not enter into any agreement, expend any sum of money, or receive funds contracting services, or giving financial aid to or from those non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations as defined in Agenda 21.

Romney has come out in favor of school choice and vouchers, a signature issue for Indiana’s Gov. Daniels, and an issue that nicely splits labor unions (a.k.a. “hard hat” unions) apart from non-labor unions (a.k.a. “skirt” unions), a tactic Gov. Walker has used very effectively.

I don’t much like Mitt Romney, but he’s a far, far better candidate than we had in John McCain.

Obama leaking sensitve intel? To these predators there is only one value, their own power and success. To that end their country exists to be sold.
