That had completely escaped my mind. That's a little cheer for my day. Thanks!

@civil - I would agree with that too. I've already received a fundraising e-mail from the state party, but like I said, I don't see Wanggaard pounding the desk demanding a recount.

The very best that I'm hoping for is some deal being worked out between Talconite and the Democrats; and an intense effort on our part towards taking the Senate back and holding the House in November.

The last 13 precincts shifted about 4,000 votes = about 65% Dem by my calculations. Based on news reports today, it looks like the usual Democrats holding urban (Racine) precincts to the end. Breitbart reported irregularities in Racine. However, it seems to me that the Republicans' money and resources is going to be better spent focusing on November than challenging a special election.

The key is to get court to release its hold on voter ID implemented before the November election. The same-day registration also looks to be open to abuse, but proper ID would cut down on this too.

We may have lost the WI Senate.

Sen. Wanggaard from Racine is about ~1k votes short of his Democratic opponent. It's a large enough margin of victory that [knowing the Sen.'s personality] probably won't result in a recount, much less of a successful recounting of the ballots.

This puts the Democrats up one vote in the Senate. It's a bit of an empty victory because there's no remaining legislative days left between now and November. However, to us Wisconsinites, this is really bad news because we had hoped a special session would be called to address the issue of the Taconite iron mine in Northern Wisconsin.

Long story short: Democrats + RINO Sen. Dale Schultz killed an iron mine proposal by the Taconite company that would have created 600 - 700 jobs in a very job hungry area.

Yeah, Mel...right now, I'm loving it! It's as if our side of the battle is suddenly understanding that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being proactive, taking on challenges, holding to hard lines...and even making a little fun of our opponents in the process rather than being scared out of their wits that they might be called RRRAAACCCISSSTTS or something like that!

Good day, isn't it? Hope we have a LOT more of them!

Hopefully, more of our governors will be emboldened to forge ahead with ideas and policies like those of Walker, Jindal and other conservatives. Our policies work.
