White House Literally Says We Owe IRS Chief Who Targeted Conservatives 'OUR GRATITUDE'! [VIDEO]

You’re doing a heckuva job, clownie. Josh Earnest might as well have said that at a White House press briefing this week when asked about pressure to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen from Republicans in the House, and he doubled down on the embattled tax collector.

It is ridiculous for Republicans in Congress, who seek to gut funding for the IRS — in some cases, they actually call for the outright abolition of the agency — to be a fair arbiter of the effectiveness of the IRS Commissioner. The fact is, Mr. Koskinen has an extraordinarily difficult job, and it’s made only more difficult because Republicans seek to try to cut the funding of his agency. He is somebody who undertakes that work with a lot of professionalism and seriousness of purpose, and he deserves our gratitude for his good work.

“He deserves our gratitude.”

Remember, the reason House conservatives are talking impeachment is that, among many other things, they accuse him of “ignoring subpoenas from Congress, misleading testimony and not telling Congress that evidence concerning the IRS targeting tea party groups had vanished.” We have a long archive of his incompetence, negligence, and malice here at RedState.

But great job, says Obama and his staff. He deserves our gratitude? Sick. Thanks but no thanks, Josh.
