Biden Resignation Watch

In a quote from George “Snuffleupagus” at ABC News, Biden: We ‘Misread the Economy’

I think ole Joe has really stepped in it this time and his early exit is sure to be in the engineering phase.

“The truth is, we and everyone else misread the economy,” Biden told me during our exclusive “This Week” interview in Iraq.

Biden acknowledged administration officials were too optimistic earlier this year when they predicted the unemployment rate would peak at 8 percent as part of their effort to sell the stimulus package. The national unemployment rate has ballooned to 9.5 percent in June — the worst in 26 years.

“The truth is, there was a misreading of just how bad an economy we inherited,” said Biden, who is leading the administration’s effort to implement it’s $787 billion economic stimulus plan.

Say it ain’t so Joe! You mean the smartest, most talented and messianic figure ever to hold office in this great land is capable of a mistake? You mean the all knowing Messiah wasn’t able to read the tea leaves and see into the future? You mean Mr. HOPE and CHANGE didn’t know Bush messed things up so bad that there was no HOPE of CHANGE in the economic fortunes of this country? Come on man…where is your faith in “THE ONE“?

It’s been fun and entertaining having you around Joe…but I fear you are about to have a sudden need to spend some time with your family or some such other excuse used by disgraced and rejected politicians…or maybe you’ll have a sudden need to visit your mistress in some back woods South American country…or maybe an extended stay at an “Undisclosed Location”!

Now for the Red State pool on the stated reason why and when Joe will make his exit:

I’m guessing in three weeks Joe will say his commute from CT has become too burdensome…my only question is what gaff he’ll make while announcing his early retirement!

Anyone else?

We already did it. Biden, Obama and Pelosi.

Instead, how about Frank/Reno (Barney & Janet).

And unfortunately like a large percentage of Americans right now. How much a percentage is debateable.

I was actually watching Bloomberg yesterday afternoon, trying to guage where the market was going this week. I really liked the way their ticker reported the story:

“Biden claims Obama misread the economy”

I agree with your take—they may soon find other endeavors for him to pursue. I think the low point was actually two weeks ago, when he snapped at reporters who were quizzing him about the stimulus…..after stumbling over every question asked, Joe told them that his background was in foreign policy, not economics! (of course, his foreign policy brainstorm was to partition Iraq into 3 separate countries. Talk about nation-building…) At this point, Biden kind of reminds me of Ed McMahon: overrated nice guy,but essentially a windbag who doesn’t add value to much of anything.

      Yeeessssss!!!!!!!

After all, he thinks he is doing a good job.

Nobody but Biden wanted to be Bambi’s VP in the first place, who would want to replace him except the power whore Powell?

  • IJB

Now whether Biden will be gone *before* then, I couldn’t tell you (I’d personally put the odds at only 40/60 of him being gone before then).

But there is *no* way Obama will let this guy be his VP pick again.
    Just, NO WAY.

Biden will definitely be gone by 2012. I would look for Obama to choose
an Hispanic to take his place. Any suggestions as to who that might be?
