Fast and Furious was a program to run guns for the Mexican Drug Cartels. Read that again “Mexican Drug Cartels”. The cartels did with these guns what drug cartels do, they took them and shot at other cartels and well innocent citizens in attempts to corner the drug market. In the crossfire, a US law enforcement agent was murdered with a gun provided to the drug cartels by the Department of Justice. To wit, the DOJ is complicit in the destabilization of a key ally, the murder of a US law enforcement agent, and citizens of the US and Mexico in what is essentially a genocide. Now, I suspect if you were Agent Terry’s family or the families of the people killed in the genocide that you would think you are owed a fair investigation by your government. I also suspect that you would be highly suspicious of the executive investigating itself and would appreciate either congressional oversight or an independent prosecutor. That fact that you are unable to find sympathy for these families and instead want to make the victims King Barack and his court jester Eric Holder says more about your character and less about Congressman Issa. King Barack and Jester Holder are refusing to turn the documents over because they will show that Jester Holder knew and approved of a scheme to run guns for Mexican Drug Cartels and we all know there is no way in the fiefdom that he didn’t run that by his King.

President Obama, on his first assertion of executive privilege, has acted appropriately. The various pontifications by “the right” are simply an effort to convince public to believe that the President “knew something” and that would have been his reason for asserting executive privilege. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

There is historical precedent of the assertion of executive privilege being used to protect classified information for the protection of the security of the nation.

Rep. Issa and his supporters on Capitol Hill and beyond have made a mockery of the purpose of investigations by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and as such they have given disservice to the honor of Agent Terry’s service to our country and to his family.

The video snippet of then Senator Obama speaking about former President Bush’s assertion(s) of executive privilege is only a snippet. You have not shown the conversation in context. Former President Bush asserted executive privilege six times during his term, most of which were simply unnecessary.
