Today, after a week of protesting, the Chicago Teachers Union will meet with the school district to determine if their new contract will meet their expectations in order to end their strike.
The protestors are just average folks doing what their unions are convincing them is right: go out and protest for your "rights." The inconvenient facts about there being no substantive reason to go on strike are irrelevant to its organizers as their desires lie elsewhere. For the organizers, it is all about a show of strength to achieve their ends.
I helped the Heritage Foundation put together a video that shows exactly what those ends are, as revealed by the union leaders themselves.
