Trump Campaign Responds to Blowback Over Assassination Comments by Not Responding to It

As was just reported, Donald Trump, in his continuing effort to justify the existence of the #NeverTrump movement and ensure that Hillary Clinton is president, mentioned in passing that assassinating Hillary Clinton (or otherwise revolting against the U.S. government over a SCOTUS pick) was a totes cool idea.

In typical campaign fashion, this group of uber alpha dogs played victim instead of owning the comments.

Instead of saying “This was what I meant” or “that was a joke you guys are taking too seriously” or “crooked Hillary is lying and our white nationalist brothers will no longer put up with her Zionist propaganda,” the campaign opted to release a two setence statement saying “2nd amendment people are awesome!” while not addressing at all why people might have some issues with Mr. Trump’s loose friendship with sane comments.

It’s called the power of unification — Second amendment people have amazing spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power. And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump.

Way to settle that question.

But actually it’s good news for all those who hoped the campaign would get back on track. As I said a few days ago, the path to victory for Trump is to tell bald-faced lies and deny the obvious in direct contradiction to overwhelming evidence while carrying Trump’s water as he goes on a tour of America, whistling the tune of lunatics as loudly as possible like a douchebag pied-piper drawing the worst of America out of their holes to come out and vote for a border wall that Trump himself has said he has no intention of actually building.
