Bill Introduced to Change Term Limits for President (H.J. Res. 15)

While the country was discussing the Fiscal Cliff, guns, and Hurricane Sandy, a new bill was introduced in Congress on Friday.

Representative Jose Serrano (D-NY15) put forth a bill, now called “H.J. Res. 15″, that proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President”.

According to GovTrack, it was then “[r]eferred to the House Committee on the Judiciary”. Further, “[t]his resolution was assigned to a congressional committee on January 4, 2013, which will consider it before possibly sending it on to the House or Senate as a whole”.

So here we have one of the first bills introduced in the new Congressional session, which proposes removing term limits for the Presidency. Serrano has offered it before in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 [HJR 5] and 2011 [HJR 17]. Time to pay attention!

Update: Rep. Serrano also proposed HR. 211, “To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to waive the requirement for proof of citizenship during the first year of life for children born in the United States to a Medicaid-eligible mother”.

Wonder if Boehner will allow this to come up for a vote? Also if he does who votes for it?

No, except as a joke. Lunatics.

Anyone who thinks Americans can’t lose their freedoms had better pay very close attention. Frankly, I think we have already lost a lot, but nothing compared to what they plan ahead. Obama is now unchained after his reelection, and he feels himself to be free to do what he wants because of what he says as a mandate. To a Republican it’s a squeaker; to Obama it’s a mandate.

If you love your freedom, remember freedom is not free. And also remember that we still have a large number of so-called Republicans who see nothing wrong with what is happening to this country.
The near death of the middle class which we see happening does more to divide us than anything. At one end are the crony capitalist weathy, and all of the rest of us will be piled in the rubble at the bottom.

Stand with your God and the Constitution and speak up. Speak up and demand to be heard. If the term limit amendment is repealed we will then be facing the new Constitution that liberals want to impose: UN Agenda 21.

Bind it to a repeal of the 16th and 17th amendments and it won’t matter.

I know bills like this have been introduced in the past, but the difference now is that Obama is in his second term. He has less to worry about now.

I know bills like this have been introduced before, but now that Obama has won re-election, he has less to worry about in his 2nd term.

Obama only needs two terms to turn us into the U.S.S.R./Greece remix.

Yes, but Michelle doesn’t want to be President, and Sasha is too young, So Barry needs a few more terms to make the most of his time as charman of the party.

To quote a friend of mine on Face Book who was quoting a notable figure, “I will build a grand new Republic. Jedi, run for it.”

This is nothing but a “look how stupid Jose Serrano is” story, if you think there is any chance Obama gets a third term you are just embarrassing yourself.
