The Schedule: Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un's World Peace To-Do List

Perplexingly, many on the Left are hoping Donald Trump fails at the groundbreaking summit with Kim Jong-un.

One post on social media said, “I can’t decide who I’m rooting for…they’re pretty much the same people.”

And that, folks, is the Left.

All they know is Donald Trump = evil. Hitler! Stalin! Kim Jong-un! Satan! Rah rah rah!

Throw in a large dose of ignorance as to who those people actually are/were, a seasoning of own-worst-enemy kind of thinking, and let simmer to a nice dumb.

The result is that they will root against their own country in order to stay purely partisan. Kim Jong-un is a guy who could try to blow us up. Yet still, they won’t side with Trump/us/themselves/their grandmother.

You know it, I know it, and (some of) the American people know it. Oh, and Trump does, too:

For those of you who actually care how the meeting goes because you want it to go well, here’s the rundown of what’s planned for Donald and Kim:

Trump and KJ-u will greet one another at 9 a.m. Tuesday (Monday, 9 p.m. Eastern). The two will then have some one-on-one time, accompanied only by their translators.

At 10:00, other officials from the U.S. and NK will join.

11:30 will begin a working lunch for the leaders.

Trump is set for a post-assembly media briefing at 4 p.m.

A major topic of conversation, of course, will be denuclearization. As for what that means, there is a major divide. To put it in McDonald’s parlance (which seems to, to an incredibly ridiculous degree, have problems with its milkshake machines):

To the U.S., denuclearization means not just throwing away the milkshakes, but throwing away the machine. To North Korea, it means not making any more milkshakes, but keeping the equipment and the recipe.

Things are looking good so far: Kim posed for a selfie as he enjoyed some Singapore sightseeing Monday night.

Senior officials for both companies engaged in the evening, trying to iron out disagreements ahead of the summit.

After those discussions, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he’s “optimistic”:

“So these discussions that’ll take place tomorrow between chairman Kim and President Trump will set the framework for the hard work that will follow. …And we’ll see how far we get, but I’m very optimistic that we will have a successful outcome from tomorrow’s meeting between these two leaders.”

Of course, the result of the get-together could be disastrous. But if Donald Trump is able to turn on that ol’ megalomaniac New York billionaire charm, perhaps we’ll end up with McPeace.
