It is shocking to hear that McCain and Obama are in a dead-heat among “born again Christians” (see Barna Poll).
I believe it is because some Christians are terribly misinformed about the radical agenda that Obama seeks to implement:

1. Obama supports partial-birth abortion and wants to undo all pro-life legislation in this nation through the Freedom of Choice Act.

2. Obama opposes bans on same-sex marriage and wants to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act signed by President Clinton.

3. Obama wants to nominate liberal pro-abortion Supreme Court Justices.

4. Obama supports homosexual adoption as well as the teaching of same-sex marriage to “2nd graders” (this is exactly what he said in a primary debate).

From these facts alone, no “born-again Christian” should even consider voting for a man who holds such “anti-Christian” positions. You can play a significant role in bringing attention to these issues by asking your church to show this video clip on Sunday.

Barack Obama supported the socialist Odinga. To the tune of $1 million dollars.

Who is Raila Odinga? This is a socialist politician who promised to “rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared religions”. This is a man who incited voter fraud protests across Kenya, which caused 1000 deaths from machete violence and 800 burned churches. This is a man that Barack Obama visited three times as a politician. This is the man who received $1 million from Barack Obama.

Who is George Obama?* He is the half-brother of Barack Obama. He lives in a forlorn hut on $1/month. We do not know if that $1 came from Barack Obama. He wants to study to be a car mechanic. He wants to work hard in order to succeed in a free enterprise system. Unlike Odinga, he did not receive $1 million from Barack Obama. I doubt he has even received $1000 dollars from his brother.

Socialism or Compassion? Barack Obama chose socialism.

This is a sordid tale of two Kenyans, enough to rival the plot of “Cry, the Beloved Country.” Except this time, if Barack Obama wins, America will be the one crying.

Epilogue: Barack Obama is not the only one dishing out cash to his favorite family members. Joe Biden also routed $2 million of campaign cash to his family.

But the two presidential candidates disagree on a key foundation of any future draft: Mr. Obama supports a requirement for both men and women to register with the Selective Service, while Mr. McCain doesn’t think women should have to register.

Also, Mr. Obama would consider officially opening combat positions to women. Mr. McCain would not.

This is a ludicrous position for Senator Obama to take, and it is surely a political gift from heaven for John McCain. Senator McCain, you must seize Obama’s misstep and hammer him in your last debate!

7:00-7:20pm: Mitt Romney would discuss the negative effects of raising taxes on small businesses at a time of economic uncertainty. Romney would slam Obama’s tax plan.

7:20-7:25pm: Interlude would show a video clip of all the times Obama voted to raise taxes.

7:25-7:45pm: Mike Huckabee would discuss the need to “bail out” all Americans, and especially the middle class, through a combination of tax cuts, tax credits for healthcare, a restructuring of 401K, and McCain’s mortgage plan for struggling homeowners. Huckabee would slam Obama on his support for infanticide and gay marriage.

7:45-7:50pm: Interlude would show video of Obama defending the aborting of babies after they are out of the womb.

7:55-8:15pm: Fred Thompson would discuss Obama’s deep ties to socialism. Thompson would make the case for American capitalism and free enterprise, and would conclusively show that Obama’s socialist policies would lead to an outright depression. Thompson would hammer home the argument that socialists would like to use times of economic instability to usher in their radical revolutionary agenda.

8:15-8:20pm: Interlude would show video highlighting Obama’s ties to socialism.

8:20-8:40pm: Rudy Giuliani would discuss Obama’s ties to Bill Ayers, Odinga, and Khalidi. Giuliani would quote the 9/11 NYT story about Ayers refusal to repent from his terrorist activities. Giuliani would slam Obama on his willingness to work with Bill Ayers and Obama’s explicit praise of Ayers’ writing. Giuliani would slam Obama’s campaign for stifling free speech and using police-state tactics to intimidate opponents.

8:40-8:45pm: Interlude would show video highlighting the bombing campaigns undertaken by Ayers.

8:45-9:15pm: Sarah Palin would hammer Obama on Ayers, Odinga, Khalidi, Wright, Rezko, Fannie/Freddie, ACORN, BAIPA, Prop 8, etc. Palin would hammer home the point that Obama is just a socialist with deeply questionable ties.

9:15-9:20pm: Interlude would show video highlighting John McCain’s lifetime of service to this nation.

9:20-10:00pm: John McCain would directly point out that the economic crisis was due to the Democrats destructive policies. McCain would highlight his tax plan that would NOT raise taxes on businesses that are wobbly in these distressing economic times. McCain would highlight his “economic surge” plan that would: 1) stabilize home values through his mortgage plan; 2) punish corruption and increase transparency; 3) free up credit; 4) keep taxes low through this recession; 5) prevent America from sliding into repressive socialism as it would under Obama’s administration.

Would the networks cover such an event? They should, since we did lose a day of the Convention. If they don’t cover such an event, then let us buy airtime on Fox.

Zogby also reports a statistical tie in its latest poll.

Don’t believe the media when they claim that McCain is significantly behind.

McCain is starting to pick up momentum. The Obama-Ayers connection is starting to sink into the minds of voters. And nothing in the debate was newsworthy enough to distract attention away from Ayers.

Hopefully McCain will start spending money on ads this month. Remember he was outspent by a huge margin in most battleground states last month. I think McCain has enough money to compete evenly this final month, and so we should expect a 3% bump from increased advertising alone. Expect an additional 3% bump if the stock market stabilizes or if McCain starts tying Obama to the mortgage meltdown.

And if the whole truth about Obama-Ayers really sinks into the minds of Americans, expect a 10% bump for McCain.

It turns out they are ALL connected through a central figure: Barack Obama.

As CNN reports, Barack Obama and William Ayers served together on several foundations:

Under the leadership of Obama and Ayers, the Woods Fund donated money to Jeremiah Wright’s church. The Woods Fund also gave a grant to Arab American Action Network, where Khalidi’s wife served as president. Finally, the chairman of the Woods Fund was head of New Kenwood LLC, a company founded by Rezko * and Allison Davis, *Obama’s former boss.

Ayers. Wright. Rezko. Khalidi. All connected through Barack Obama.

One of the things you’re gonna see is a coalition that has about completely taken over the Republican Party in this state… and if they have their way, it’s going to take over state government. It’s made up of the Christian Coalition. It’s made up of the right to lifers. It’s made up of the NRA. It’s made up of the home schoolers. It’s made up of a whole coalition of people that have all sorts of different views that I think most of us in this room would find threatening to what it means to be an American.

As we all know, Mark Warner is running to be a Virginia Senator. As we all know, Virginia is a presidential swing state. Therefore:

McCain should publicly denounce Mark Warner’s derogatory statements and call Barack Obama to also disown Mark Warner’s statements.

I hope this happens in the upcoming debate.

Optimism

When I was watching the Biden/Palin debate, I noticed that one candidate was depressing me and one candidate was causing me to smile. Sarah Palin won that debate because she was an optimist and because she stayed positive. For swing voters especially, it is very important to project an image of a cheerful warrior who does not engage in unnecessary partisan attacks. This is a big reason why Huckabee did so well in the primaries despite his lack of money.

Populism

To win a state, one has to win the majority of voters. It is a fact of life that most voters are on the lower end of the economic spectrum. Thus, in order to win, candidates must find a way to appeal to these voters. Sarah Palin certainly knows how to reach out to the common family, and I hope John McCain displays this same ability in the upcoming debates. Note that one can be a conservative populist. Populism just means “putting government on the side of the people.”

Detailed Policies

Many Americans vote selfishly according to their own interests. They want to know which candidate is proposing policies that will help their family in the long run. So far, Senator McCain has not fully laid out detailed policies to convince American voters that his agenda is worth supporting. Senator McCain has got to drill the following issues into the minds of Americans:

• Gas prices!!! Everybody wants them to go down. One way to do that is through domestic oil production. Sure, we will investigate alternative sources, but we still need tons of oil. McCain wins this issue hands down.

• No more bailouts for Wall Street!!! McCain has got to lay out his plan for preventing subsequent bailouts in the future. He has got to emphasize to people that our system of free enterprise and capitalism is still vastly superior to the system that Obama wants to move us towards: SOCIALISM.

• Propose a middle-class bailout!!! Wall Street got a bailout, and the American people should get one too. This bailout should include: tax cuts, tax credits for education and health insurance, temporary property tax relief for the next couple of years, etc. McCain should make clear the fact that Obama has a penchant for raising taxes. Obama cannot be trusted on taxes!

Fierce Blows

Did you notice how many lies Senator Biden told in the debate? All these lies must be countered. While we should maintain positivity and objectivity, we also must speak the truth about the democratic ticket. This is a political war, and it is John McCain’s job to tell America why Barack Obama is not ready to lead this nation. Here are some facts that should be forcefully repeated over and over again, in order of effectiveness:

1. Barack Obama’s ties to Fannie and Freddie. This is a slam dunk case that cannot be ignored. Note that we also must proceed very cautiously and praise Obama when possible. Obama was trying to help out families in lower-class neighborhoods to obtain loans easily. But we must also note that, while his intentions may have been decent, the policies he has supported have been disastrous. A political attack is much more effective when preceded by praise.

2. Barack Obama’s liberal record. This is a comprehensive case. John McCain should just memorize a whole laundry list of items: Obama is terrible on the 2nd Amendment, Obama vigilantly supports same-sex marriage, Obama supports adoptions by gay couples, Obama voted against protecting babies who were born alive after a botched abortion, Obama wants comprehensive sex-ed for elementary school students, Obama wants a nationalized government-run health care system, etc. Obama is an out-of-touch liberal with socialist tendencies. Obama is extremely out-of-touch with the values of the common American family. Obama wants to turn America into a European country or Canada, which has government-run health care but extremely high taxes.

3. Barack Obama’s inexperience. Obama doesn’t have any executive experience. John McCain should point out that such a lack of experience is dangerous when combined with a liberal mindset. Obama wants to meet with the Iranian president without preconditions, according to his web site. Obama wants to pull out troops from Iraq, regardless of conditions on the ground and regardless of the advice of countless generals. Obama has never balanced a budget. He has never authored a major piece of legislation. He has never been a maverick and defied his own party for the good of the country.

4. Barack Obama’s associations. Barack Obama admitted that he only wanted to hang out with the Marxists and most liberal people in his college. How did his college years affect his ideology? Obama was close friends with unrepentant terrorist William Ayers — he even called Ayers a “moderate”. McCain could win on this issue alone if he chose to run with this attack. I personally wouldn’t waste any more time with Rezko or Wright unless something new comes up, but I would surely bring up William Ayers over and over again. The American people have a right to know why Barack Obama collaborated with William Ayers.

So there you have it — four powerful keys to winning this November. I hope the McCain camp is listening.

It’s what the Constitution calls for. And so we do support it. So both Biden and Barack support same-sex marriage, putting them out of touch with the overwhelming majority of voters in Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, and Nevada.

Today I just read an excellent news piece from CNS which highlights Obama’s support for same-sex marriage. Go read it now.

We can never let Barack Obama claim that he opposes same-sex marriage. He fully supports it, defends it, applauds it, and celebrates it! To all the same-sex couples who were married after the California Supreme Court overturned Prop 22 (which had banned gay marriage in California), Obama said:

I want to congratulate all of you who have shown your love for each other by getting married these last few weeks.

Obama virulently opposes state bans on same-sex marriage, such as Proposition 8 in California. Obama wants to repeal DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). This can only mean one thing:

Barack Obama Supports Gay Marriage.

No matter how he sugarcoats it, one fact remains.

Barack Obama Supports Gay Marriage.

Senator McCain would be wise to point out Obama’s out-of-touch liberal views on this issue.

If you care about this issue, please support YES ON 8.

It’s what the Constitution calls for. And so we do support it. Did anyone else notice this flip-flop, all taking place within a span of 30 seconds?

Barack Obama also claims to oppose gay marriage. Malarkey. Make no mistake: Barack Obama fully supports gay marriage. How do I know? Obama opposes Proposition 8 in California which would establish marriage as between a man and a woman.

Now here is Logic 101:

Proposition 8 would ban same-sex marriage in California.

Barack Obama opposes Proposition 8.

Ergo:

Barack Obama opposes state bans on same-sex marriage.

Corollary through contrapositive:

Barack Obama supports same-sex marriage. Q.E.D.

John McCain should hit Obama on this blatant inconsistency in the upcoming debates. Obama is running around claiming that he opposes same-sex marriage, and yet he also opposes bans on same-sex marriage. What cognitive dissonance. And Joe Biden revealed, through his exact words in tonight’s debate, that he supports “same-sex marriage” as well.

The next time Obama claims to oppose gay marriage, McCain should ask: “Why?”

By the way, if you care about this issue, please consider helping Yes on 8. If gay marriage is legalized in California, it will inevitably sweep through the country.

Whatever happens, we may deserve what we get. On the other hand, maybe there’s still time to wise up: Obama boots Biden and taps Clinton; McCain dumps Palin and picks Romney. It’s a concept.

In this National Review article, the author gives two reasons why she doesn’t like Palin:

I worry that she won’t intellectualize enough. I worry about her certitude and her slight offness. Whatever her charms, anyone in public office who thinks out loud about banning books might be missing some aces in her deck.

I worry about a worldview that might have been shaped in part by a minister who believes that Alaska someday will be home to Christian renegades arriving for the Rapture.

*Why would a “conservative” magazine feature such an outrageous article? *

Why would they want to tempt Obama to replace Biden with Clinton, when that action would only help Obama’s campaign? Why would they want McCain to dump Palin for Romney, a move that would surely fracture the base?

*Because some folks at *National Review are still rooting for Romney. **

There’s nothing wrong with rooting for Romney in the primaries, but the primaries are over. John McCain has already made his choice and the base is united and thrilled to have Palin as VP — well, except some of the folks at the National Review. Of course maybe we shouldn’t include them as part of the “base” if they continue to promote articles like these.

One might argue that that I am over-emphasizing this one article and that I shouldn’t assume that everybody at the National Review thinks this way. Of course, there are many fine thinkers in that organization. But this is not the first time I have detected an NR author second-guessing McCain’s choice. Read this article from an NRO editor:

If the McCain campaign had been adult about it, they would have made Mitt Romney the vice-presidential nominee. [emphasis added]

But John McCain wasn’t going to pick Mitt Romney. All you have to do to understand that is rewind to the Florida primary. If John McCain’s motto is “country first,” he’d have a hard time standing with Mitt Romney, who McCain (rather insultingly) described as having led for profit, not patriotism.

So you see, there has been a disturbing trend at the National Review. We must expose this outrageous train of thought and make clear to the National Review that the base is fully behind Governor Sarah Palin and has no intention of “dumping” her. Stop cramming embryonic stem cell research down our throats.*

You have been doing so well lately. You have selected an outstanding running mate. Your convention was a success. You are surging in the polls.

Why would you want to kill your momentum now?

Supporting the destruction of embryos for research and medicinal purposes is atrocious, especially when there are many viable alternatives. Supporting ESCR is diametrically opposed to the belief that “life begins at conception” — a belief that you claimed to be your own during the Saddleback Forum.

If one believes that life begins at conception, then there is no moral difference between killing an embryo and allowing a newly born baby to die in a soiled utility room. When does a baby get rights? Is it also above your paygrade to answer this question, Senator McCain?

It’s cool that you want to be perceived as a maverick. That makes you trendy and hip with the swing voters. But there are plenty of other issues where you can be a maverick: ANWR, global warming, immigration, health-care, etc. The sanctity of life is a non-negotiable issue.

Supporting ESCR will only harm your chances for election. Millions of socially conservative Catholic and evangelical voters will balk at your stance and will not be motivated to help your campaign. Imagine how your campaign would be right now if you had selected either the pro-abortion Lieberman or Ridge! Instead, you chose the hard-core pro-lifer Palin and you are benefiting enormously. Choose “pro-life” again. Please clarify your statements and say that you would only support non-embryonic stem cell research.

Millions of social conservatives all over America who cling to the sanctity of life.

PS: To prevent this post from being misinterpreted, let me just note that Obama is infinitely worse on the issue of life. At least McCain opposes abortion. Obama actually supported the killing of newly born babies who were slated to be aborted.

I see that you are making a big deal over the fact that your Republican rival owns several pieces of property, as if it were some major scandal. But if you really want to be accurate, you should note that John McCain owns no property at all, as all those houses are under his wife and children’s names.

I also see that your surrogates are mocking McCain’s age by suggesting that he is forgetful. You can kiss the senior citizen vote goodbye right now.

Engaging in class warfare of this sort is a huge blunder, Senator Obama, especially when your own income exceeds that of 99% of Americans. Americans already know John McCain. You cannot define him, but he will define you. Your distasteful and condescending attacks just reveal that your campaign is in a state of panic. Now that you have fired the first shot, you have opened the door to the following questions:

1. How many houses can Senator Obama buy with the income generated from his book sales last year?

Answer: As many as he wants. This is America after all. Senator Obama earned $4 million last year in book sales alone, and so he should be able to comfortably purchase 7-8 homes right now.

2. How many houses can Senator Obama purchase with a crook’s help before he gets into political trouble?

Answer: One is sufficient. Rezko will not go away.

3. How many houses has Bill Ayers plotted to blow up? (ht: Hugh Hewitt)

Answer: Only Ayers knows. One thing is for sure. Obama’s association to Ayers will be politically lethal.

4. How many houses has China seized from elderly grandmothers in order to build the infrastructure for the Olympics?

Answer: Only China knows. What does this have to do with Obama? Senator Obama claims that the infrastructure in China is superior to our own, and he wants us to emulate communist China when it comes to infrastructure.

5. How many houses does Senator Obama’s younger half-brother, George, own?

Answer: Zero. His shack does not qualify to be a proper home with basic necessities. The homeless here in America likely live a better life than George Obama. Should Senator Obama be obligated to help his younger brother? Certainly not, if it is not in his heart to do so. Senator Obama should be able to do whatever he wants with the $4 million in book sales that he earned last year. But what a contrasting picture emerges between the chosen one and a forgotten son.

6. How many homes across this nation have been affected by abortion or infanticide?

Answer: Countless. Obama could have banned infanticide from taking place in Illinois hospitals, but he chose to oppose the Born Alive Infant Protection Act again and again.

Let me offer you some advice, Senator Obama. Your campaign is failing. The only chance you have to right the ship is to admit your failures and move to the right. Admit that you were wrong to have closely associated yourself with Ayers. Admit that you were wrong to engage in shady deals with Rezko. Admit that you were wrong when you voted to oppose BAIPA. And one final tip: I urge you to select Evan Bayh to be your running mate.

In 2004, you publicly stated to thousands of pastors that abortion and gay marriage are non-negotiable issues for the evangelical community. You were right.

You have a chance once again to stand strong for your Biblical convictions when you interview Senator Obama and Senator McCain tonight.

I am sure that you know that Senator Obama’s stance on abortion is more radical than that of NARAL and other pro-abortion groups. Senator Obama is not only pro-abortion, but he appears to have taken a pro-infanticide position in the past, as he has voted against the Illinois version of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (see details here). Please ask Senator Obama about his vote against BAIPA so that evangelical voters can make an informed decision when they vote in November.

I am sure that you are aware that Prop 8 is on the CA ballot, and I think that you would agree that this proposition will be the biggest social conservative battle in California since Prop 22. Prop 8 seeks to codify into the CA constitution the words approved by an overwhelming majority of CA voters back in 2002: marriage is between a man and a woman. Please ask Obama why he opposes Prop 8, and please ask McCain why he supports Prop 8.

Honestly, I have doubts that you will bring up these crucial issues. Please prove me wrong.

Here are some additional questions if you have time:

• Do you believe that homosexuality should be taught to 2nd graders? (Obama answered “yes” during a primary debate).
• Do you support vouchers for private religious schools?
• Do you support adoptions by gay couples?
• Do you think that Israel should concede more land to the Palestinians (e.g divide Jerusalem)?

1. Bayh will help you win Indiana, as he is very popular there. Why just stick to the traditional battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida? You need to follow Howard Dean’s 50 state strategy; after all, some polls show you within striking distance in places like North Carolina, Georgia, and Montana. If you win Indiana, you win the Presidency, plain and simple.

2. Bayh used to be a Hillary supporter, and so by choosing him, you have symbolically chosen Senator Clinton. This is the only action needed to bring back those Clinton supporters. There’s virtually no probability that John McCain will pick Palin anyways (since Romney is a lock), so you are safe.

3. Bayh supported the Iraq war. This makes your campaign more multidimensional. You can argue to your base why the Iraq war was a mistake from the start. Bayh can then woo supporters of the war. Have your cake and eat it too!

4. Bayh is not a charismatic communicator and it will contrast nicely with your own qualities. McCain will pick Romney, and Bayh is better at reaching out to heartland Americans than Romney anyways.

5. Bayh is more moderate then you. While he is solidly pro-abortion, he did vote against Partial Birth Abortion. Having such a sidekick will make people forget that you fiercely opposed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

6. Bayh opposed a ban on same-sex marriage, just like you currently do. In an increasingly pluralistic and secular society, this unified stance will bring you more votes, especially in places like Colorado and Virginia. Bayh would probably pass your 2003 Constitutional Law final exam.

*7. Bayh will not energize the Kos crowd * (see here). This is a very good thing, I assure you.

So there you have it, Senator Obama — seven good reasons to choose Evan Bayh!
